Debbie Rocks! She’s personable, professional, quick, simple, inexpensive and a joy to be around! The only complaint I have is that she is only available Friday & Saturday. Hence, it helps to have an appointment, although she has squeezed me in on the past. I’ve had a quite a few different people at different salons cut my hair, but hands down she’s the best AND she was less expensive! I’ve been told by some good friends that she’s given me the best haircut I’ve had yet!

I called Salon on Villa yesterday to schedule an appointment for the next day. Unfortunately it was all booked, but she was happy to squeeze me in yesterday. I arrived there and waited for Debbie to be done with her previous customer and honestly I was a little nervous because of the review on here by Jennifer R about her haircut being uneven. However, everything turned out great! I showed Debbie a picture of the type of haircut I wanted and she did exactly what I asked for! We took off 5 inches of my long hair and added a ton of layering to the front and some layering to the back. It turned out absolutely amazing! I have never loved my hair so much. And it only cost $ 17. Such a quality deal. The pricing here varies, but is very affordable. A simple cut is $ 12, but it increases depending on layering and maxes out at $ 25 for haircuts. I will definitely be back!

got a very basic cut and it came out uneven. I also have baby bangs. I didn’t ask for baby bangs. $ 25 for a cut with layers but my layers are non existent? michel’s on washington and allen is A LOT better and cheaper. don’t make the same mistake I did.

OK, I need to get this out of the way first — I’M A MAN! Yes, a male, a member of the opposite sex. So one day I’m annoyed by the length of my hair, my dry, curly, unmanageable hair(I don’t own a comb, a brush or a hair dryer — they’d be a waste of money. I get out of the shower and shake my head and I’m done ‘cuz there’s nothing else you CAN do), and I’ve got two functions over the weekend coming up. My regular lady is far away(I make a special trip ‘cuz over 15 years, she’s moved progressively further from me) and you can’t get an appointment with her on short notice(particularly a Friday, which it was) ‘cuz she is really good. I needed to go to Pasadena later that day so I looked on Unilocal, sorted by rating and this place came up near the top. So I ring them up on Friday morning. The lady who answers says no openings until 4pm and I say«perfect.» The place is on a smaller street that’s mostly residential. There was plenty of street parking steps away from their door. I find the place and oh, my is it tiny. Three stations plus washing stations plus waiting area and it’s all super-cute. When I walk in the friendly lady says she is Judi and she spoke with me that morning. She puts me in the chair and asks me what I’d like. I say super-short, like about one inch high or finger-length, whatever she’s comfortable with. So she asks me if I’m sure ‘cuz she can cut it off but she can’t put it back on. I tell her I’m sure. So she cuts off about 1⁄3 of my hair and it’s looking good but long. So I mention that it’s looking good but still way too long and she says she’s not done yet. She cuts off another 1⁄3 and it’s looking even better and I say I’m really wanting to go super-short. She patiently explains that she has to cut it off in stages ‘cuz it’s so long. So I apologize and decide to stop being a but-insky., and that I’ll wait until she says she’s done before I pipe up again. It turns out, she’s got a big mirror at her station and I never realized it but my old cutter didn’t have a mirror at all. I couldn’t say anything until she told me she was done. Judi has a mirror so I could see the progress, not just the finished product, which I’ve never been able to do before. Anyway… When she says she’s done, I freaked out. It looked AMAZING. Exactly what I had in mind. As mentioned, I went to an event the next day on Saturday and that Sunday. Between the two places, I got SIX compliments. That’s more than the total I’ve received regarding my regular lady over 15 years, combined! I’ve waited two weeks to write a review so as to let it grow and really get an idea of what she did. Let me say, it looks even better now than when she cut it, Now here’s the incredible part. She tells me it’s $ 10.00. I tell her that I see your sign about $ 10.00 for new male clients, but what about next time? She says«it’s always $ 10.00 for a man’s haircut.» I can’t even believe this. My previous«hair stylist» was $ 35.00 and gave her a $ 20.00 tip ‘cuz after 15 years, we were friends. Those days are over. And BTW — I gave her a $ 10.00 tips because her hour was more than worth it.
