I had bought a Groupon for X rays and cleaning for Pasadena Smile Center, and when I called them to make an appointment, they were «completely booked more than 3 weeks out.» I booked the earliest available appointment.
It was nice that all their forms can be done online before the appointment. That way, when I got to the office to sign in, I didn’t have to fill out any forms there. I got to the appointment on time and was brought inside within 10 minutes. The hygienist saw that I was pregnant so we ended up not doing X rays but just took pictures from my mouth instead. The dentist then came in to check my gums and started her cleaning. She kept going on about how I really needed a deep cleaning since my gums seemed to be receding a lot. She probably only cleaned for 10 minutes. I thought she would’ve took a little more time on the cleaning. After that, the hygienist came back in to finish up with the polishing. The receptionist then came in to talk about pricing for the deep cleaning. $ 700 something for the deep cleaning! She even told me that she’d be able to book my deep cleaning right away because she’d be able to rearrange the schedule to fit me in right away. (That’s funny, I don’t know why they couldn’t do that when I originally booked my appointment for regular cleaning.)
In and out for this cleaning in less than 30 minutes. I wouldn’t come back for the deep cleaning though. This dentist office just seemed more into up-​selling their services.

Everyone in this office were super friendly and kind. They were great at explaining what problem I had. I wish I could have stayed, but sadly they do not accept my insurance.

I brought my daughter here yesterday because a tooth was hurting her. The dentist checked her X-​rays and mouth and said she had no cavities, but just irritation due to plaque under the gums which would be fixed after her cleaning. I have been looking for a good dentist for several years to be our family dentist, happy to have finally found an office that meets our needs. I liked the dentist, the dental hygienist, the office manager and the receptionist.

Great atmosphere, and I’m always in and out. Worth the drive! Dental hygienists and Dentist are really friendly and gentle. Would recommend to anyone needing dental work.

Dr. Molayem and her staff are total pros.
Her staff is helpful and friendly. They were able to see me last minute for an emergency and even had me fill out my paperwork online before my appointment so I could be seen more quickly.
Dr. Molayem is the absolute SWEETEST. She is very meticulous in her work (I had a cracked front tooth and she did a BEAUTIFUL job), conscientious and patient. She explained everything thoroughly and carefully before each procedure, making sure to ask if I was ever in discomfort. She is incredibly courteous to her staff as well.
Everyone who helped me from making my appointment to paying my bill and scheduling for future appointments was professional and kind. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Dr Molayem is simply amazing. I have never met a dentist like her. Dr Molayem is very welcoming, friendly, and pleasant. She is very knowledgeable and explains everything in detail. The office has a nice relaxing atmosphere and the staff are an absolute pleasure. Highly recommend …

Hands down the best experience I’ve ever had at the dentist. Super clean and frequently staff. Dr. Molayem made me feel very comfortable from my first visit. If you have a fear or anxiety of going to the dentist I strongly suggest Dr. Molayem. I’ve had a lot of work done with other dentist prior to meeting this dentist and I’ve never had any dentist care as much about their work as she does. Easy free parking next to the office, friendly staff, and they have an automatic txt reminder which informs you of your set appointment time which is great. If you care about your teeth and your smile like I do, I strongly recommend Dr. Molayem 100%!

Honestly i can’t really speak too much about Dr Molayem because I only saw her maybe on two or so my procedures that I had done there. Most of the time I was with the hygienist and another Asian woman who was a dentist there I believe too. So I am rating the Pasadena Smile Center rather.
I’ll start by saying that all the work I had done there was done correctly so there is nothing wrong with their ability to perform their job.
My main problem with this place is the constant up-​selling to the point where it is almost starting to feel like a scam. Honestly this is one of the biggest turn-​offs for me when it comes to dealing with a Dentist or any professionals as well. For example, I have one wisdom tooth left and every Dentist I have had has always affirmed that it is non-​problematic. As soon as I start going here every time I get an Xray the Dentist is always pressuring me to get it removed with no explanation. Also, every time I go to see the hygienist I am told I need a ‘deep cleaning /​scaling’ — and I literally had just had one done with them less than a year before. Theres other little things like these serums they put on for like 200 bucks at the end of the cleaning etc. It just started to feel overwhelming and expensive and like I was being ripped off.
Anyway I recently moved and got a new Dentist and sure enough he gives me a normal teeth cleaning and says deep cleaning is absolutely not necessary. (There was a small part which needed a bit of scaling which he just did as part of the regular cleaning). Also, he also agreed that my wisdom tooth looked fine and no action was needed.
Honestly it may not sound like much but we, as a society, rely on our medical professionals to truly have our best interest in mind and not their own personal finances first. So for that reason I only give this place two stars. Your mileage may vary.

I have been coming here for the past 4 years, I have had my braces, teeth cleaning and my chipped tooth filled in. From my experience with Dr. Molayem and her staff, Im very comfortable and always leave here with more confidence. My family has been coming here for a while, and they are all happy with the work. My teeth look amazing thanks to Dr. Molayem and her staff, I never feel any discomfort when I come here. From my past experience, I highly recommend this place, total 100% Satisfaction!

I have been having a difficult time finding a dentist who is a good fit for me (meaning I feel comfortable and trust them).
I was happy when I found the Smile Center because it’s very close to my work. I had a cleaning, a night guard made, and then a deep cleaning. Most of the staff was extremely kind and sweet. Dr. You was wonderful, very sweet. The hygienist who cleaned my teeth was also nice, but the procedure was extremely painful. She was very receptive and communicative and I really appreciated that, but I felt really uneasy after I left.
There were issues with getting my billing confused, which I had to get involved with– which was frustrating…
But overall, I can’t say anything bad about this place, I just never felt like we clicked. I always felt a little off. After the billing issue was clarified I decided not to return. I’m glad that everyone had such great experiences.

I have been looking for a trustworthy dentist for a while. I wouldn’t have guessed that Groupon would’ve led me to her! She is very nice, does good work, and I feel has been honest with me.
I had not gone to the dentist in many years until I got dental insurance from my job. I went to a dentist in Alhambra under my insurance. That dentist forcefully told me I needed 22 Preventative Resin Restorations amounting to over $ 2000. Suspicious, I looked them up on Unilocal and saw they received one star from every reviewer.
I went to Dr. Molayem for a second opinion (without telling her about the previous experience). She told me I only needed 12 small cavities filled. She did a great job patching me up and I will keep on going to her for my regular check ups.

WOW, I think I know why this place is called the Pasadena Smile Center… they make you smile after a trip here!
I came in because of the Groupon deal a while back for a Sapphire In-​Office teeth-​whitening treatment for only $ 89 (a $ 500 value)…and I’m glad I purchased the deal!
I like that the offices are open at 7am on certain days so I can drop by before work and that they have their own parking lot… definitely a plus in my book!
The procedure was painless, the staff explained the Sapphire procedure very well and was very thorough in making sure that I was comfortable with my first teeth whitening experience. They also showed a informative video clip before the treatment to ensure that I knew what was going on.
During the procedure, Dr. Molayem also turned on a SNL DVD for me to watch so I wasn’t bored during the hour procedure. They also checked up on me every 15 minutes to make sure I was feeling okay and everything was fine. After the treatment, the color of my teeth went up about 8 shades to B2 or B3… very nice! She also recommended me to change my crowns so the shade of my teeth would match up and another staff member notified me that I could go on a payment plan (without interest… very nice for this recent college grad!).
Overall, I am very pleased with the results… I couldn’t help checking out myself throughout the drive to work! :D

I cannot say enough wonderful things about my experience with Dr. Molayem. I took my father there who has a history of a stroke for a new set of dentures. It takes a special kind of attention and patience to keep him still in a dental chair for a long time. Previous dental visits we had and his previous set of dentures were a disaster– they fit poorly to the point that he never wanted to wear them and eventually they broke. He also was extremely agitated in his previous dental visits by the aggressive, impatient approach of his previous dentists.
Dr. Molayem was so kind, patient, competent, and attentive to my father’s needs. We drove all the way from Redondo Beach until his dentures were just perfect. She continued to patiently adjust his dentures until the fit was perfect and there was no area that was bothering him in his mouth. Now he cant function without his dentures! He loves them, and once when he thought they were missing– he frantically asked, «where are my teeth… where are my teeth?!»
Our family is really grateful to Dr. Molayem for doing a wonderful job for my father’s dentures. Her kind, compassionate, attentive, and detail-​oriented attention made our experience wonderful! Thank you!

Dr. Molayem is super friendly, professional and really helpful. Every time I go to her I get super motivated to floss and take care of my teeth. Finding a good dentist was really difficult for me, but I completely trust Dr. Molayem and am so glad I found her.
