Came to watch a US soccer game and it had a good crowd. They only sell beer which kind of sucks to people that don’t drink beer. I tried there signature burger and it was really good. For sure would come her again

It’s been a loooong time-but LB’s was always our favourite place to go in Pasadena for fish and chips! My Grandpa liked it heaps. Skip the fast food joints and the expensive, pretentious places and go check out Lucky Baldwin’s for a plate and a pint!

First time here last night with my husband. The 4 stars is for the food. We ordered the meat pie with steak and mushrooms. It was so soooo good! Rich and flavorful, it paires so well with the mashed potatoes. My husband and i shared it and we were both satisfied when done. I told him we had to go back and try each of the house specialty dinners. It was kinda hit and miss with the beer. I told the bartender what I like in a beer and she suggested a few but i didnt really care for them. So i gotta do my research so i know what beer to order next time. But can’t wait to try a different dish!

Hello my Unilocalies! First I want to say, my boyfriend and I planned a week ago to come to have some delicious Irish food. I am so disappointed at this place. I’ve never rate a place from a 4 stars to a 1 star. I was so excited to come back again to have some delicious Irish food. But that is the total opposite. My boyfriend and I order the chicken chipotle sandwich and the rib-eye sandwich. First, I don’t mind if I have to wait an extreme time for my food but if you make me wait almost an hour for my food and the quality that comes out is so bad that you can’t even swallow then that’s a big problem. My boyfriends rib-eye sandwich was burned, not even over cooked but BURNT!!! Like you do know eating burnt stuff can cause cancer? How could you serve it to your customers? As for my chicken sandwich, don’t even get me started on that, everything was dry, I don’t even want to know what was that hard layer wrapped around my chicken Cus I know I didn’t ask for cheese. It seems like they either just suck at cooking or it’s been cooked and just sitting there. You ask me to pay $ 13 each for the sandwich I rather go eat at McDonald, their burger is definitely much better than this. At least I can swallow my food!!! Another thing is, there’s probably only a few people here tonight, their service is extremely slow. And no one even bother coming over and ask how our food was? What kind of service is that? And while we were trying to eat our inedible food, we can hear the waiter and waitress’s cussing and laughing right next to us. Definitely killed the mood of our early anniversary celebration. This is the worst experience and the worse idea to come back, we walk out still hungry and looking for food. I would warn people not to come here, just imagine if their quality is like this when they’re not even busy, I can’t even imagine how it will be like if they’re busy. I pretty much grew up in Ireland and this is definitely supper disappointing for showing Americans how Irish food is like. Will not come back ever again. But thank you for taking care of our bill, because I will not be happy to pay almost $ 30 for stuff like that. So at least there’s some decency left.

Ok SOOOO I tried a different restaurant yesterday in Hollywood for a Full English Breakfast because I was feeling experimental and I now realize how horrible that decision was for ever going anywhere but Lucky Baldwins for a Full English. I will now write a more comprehensive review. First off the restaurant /pub is open super early(for a pub anyway) I arrived at 9am, there is street parking or you can park at the public lot just down the steet on the same block. I was greeted at the door by a smile and an offer to sit where ever I like. There was a English Première League match playing and I was kind of getting into the game when I was greeted by the kind bartender Kimmy who asked me what I would like to have. I knew what I wanted to eat but the beer selection is pretty vast at Lucky Baldwins so I was uncertain as to what to drink. Kimmy suggested the Mother Earth Porter. The Full English at Lucky Baldwin’s comes with eggs(cooked how you like it) sausages, bacon(english style) beans, roasted vegetables, potatoes, and your choice of toast. The eggs were cooked over easy absolutely perfectly. The rye bread was toasted just right and the vegetables and potatoes tasted very fresh. You ever hear the saying that you don’t know what you’ve lost til it’s gone? Well I didn’t realize how good the Full English Breakfast was at Lucky Baldwin’s was until I had a bad one somewhere else. I’ll be back soon most definitely.

I frequent at Lucky Baldwins. To me, it’s a cool place to go near Colorado that isn’t swarming with out of towers. Great beer selection! Tons of European imported beers on tap. Their fish and chips is my FAVORITE. My boyfriend and I usually get the full size and share it. It comes with 2 large pieces of fish. We tried the side salad once, which was nothing special and I wouldn’t order it again(I realize this place is not known for their side salads) My dad always get the reuben on rye bread and raves about it. They have a large patio on alley that makes for a great weekend day drinking spot. This place would definitely make it on my list of «best 5 places for day drinking in Pasadena.»

Awesome pub with amazing beer. The Kerkom Bink Grand Cru was dark and strong, and the Van Honsebrouck Kasteel Barista Chocolate was equally as dark and strong with a satisfying chocolate aftertaste. Definitely worth returning here in the future to try their food and more of the beer!

This restaurant needs some serious TLC. And a deep clean. The servers were super friendly and good. I wouldn’t eat anything there unless it was deep fried at a high temp. Patio was dirty, pint glasses spotted, bathroom dirty and dated, just overall needs to be kept up. I appreciate a good dive bar but it must be clean, can’t trust the place. Food was ok, good fish n chips. Calamari was tender, maybe dirty oil though. Or frying oil not hot enough, the fried stuff was all more greasy than should have been. Bummer because the place is cool. I’m in the business and have owned a restaurant, it’s apparent the owner has given up or really doesn’t take pride in the place unfortunately

Excellent beer selection & great food. We just started coming here, and so far each time has been a lovely experience! Try the steak & mushroom meat pie. Absolutely delicious! The mahi sandwich was really good as well, especially for those of us who prefer a lighter choice.

This is one in a small chain of Belgian Pubs. I have only been here once — and that was just for beers — but I have been to its sister branch in Sierra Madre a dozen times — most of them for food. The beer selection is awesome(and there is a happy hour on weekdays). The food is 2 steps up from bar-fare, and much more interesting. Good fish and chips. There is a large open-air sidewalk patio — but unfortunately the street that one looks at is mostly cars zipping by. The outdoor patio in Sierra Madre is much small but it overlooks a walking sidewalk and a small park, with lots of people watching.

i had a strange craving for British food. yeah, weird… don’t ask me why. anyways, british food is confusing as hell. crisps = chips, chips = fries and pie = baked good with meat inside. we ended up getting the below items. $ 5 loaded crisps: really salty and full of blue cheese flavor. honestly, i think i would skip this if you are looking for an appitizer to go with your entrée/meal. however, if you’re here just chilling with friends it might not be a bad snack to go with beer. $ 10.25 half order of fish and chips: the fish served here is a lot higher grade of fish than the other fish and chips places ive been too. its funny cuz they serve peas with the fish and chips. $ 12.50 meat pie: i got it with Guinness infused meat and mushrooms. the sauce was a little too salty for my taste, but it was a large portion. it also comes with mash potatoes and peas. we got Trumer Pils as well. i’m not a beer snob, and i had to ask for recommendations, and trumer pils really hits the spot. light and refreshing. after leaving this place, we wanted to get dessert, but we were too full. this place really give you a good bang for your buck.

Came here to celebrate a friend’s birthday. Parking is so convenient at the 90-min-free public parking garage nearby(Green/Raymond). This place seems to be crowded all the time, but they have a cozy upstairs area that can be reserved. So that’s the spot she took for her birthday celebration. My concern was that we would not get good service since we were separate from the rest of the venue, but our server was so great about constantly checking in on us and taking orders. Reading another friend’s review, her name was Chelsea. Thanks Chelsea! I cannot comment on the food here since I did not partake, but the drinks are pretty good. We happened to be here after UCLA won a game at the Rose Bowl, so it was a great night for us(we are all Bruins). Everyone was in a great mood, service was great, drinks were good, and we were all happy to celebrate our friend. This place seems like a great spot to enjoy sports games on the TV and to hang out with friends over drinks.

This place I love. Been coming here for years, but haven’t been here for ages. The selection of beers are amazing, the food is good too. Above all else the service here is just unmatched for a spot like this. I just do not understand how 2 girls can juggle all these patrons on a Friday night so effortlessly. Real pros. Never in need of anything, drinks or napkins or whatever — our server was always checking in on us and every other table around us… maybe it’s the set up of the seating outside… whatever it is the service was unmatched. Try their Fish n Chips, super crunchy beer batter and a nice thick cod fillet. Really good. These blokes know what they’re doing.

This was a great pub to relax in. Close to the convention centre, it has a lovely outdoor patio. Much better to sit outside(and watch the sketchy people across the alleyway) than to sit indoors. A nice diverse beer menu, I just wish things had been priced more appropriately.

If you are English and looking for a proper breakfast(bacon and sausage the real deal) stop by here, plus they have real English tea in a mug. Excellent Décor. The best service in Pasadena! Mood is busy and vibrant. Food is good. It’s super casual with great beers. Add a bit more to your beer binge with their fish & chips. Extremely well made with a side of peas and fries. Can’t go wrong with some fish and Boddingtons! The location of this bar makes it one of the great hangouts for locals. Being in old own Pasadena, you’re not far from good grub and other cool bars. Be sure to check out all the beers, as they have a great selection. I believe this is the University of European beer. A giant selection of the best in the world served by those that know and understand them. If you love beer, you must go here, if you’re curious to see what beer can really be, let the staff here take you on a journey.

The place is good for watching your games. Sound isn’t loud which sucks because you don’t really feel the game but at least it isn’t on mute like most sports bars. LUCKYHOUR = Happy Hour is from 3 — 6pm with a very small menu for drinks and food. Had the chicken tenders $ 5 and they were surprisingly good. Not your average tender, but thick strips of chicken breast, moist and not crunchy hard all over. GREAT! fries were airy and good. The Red Ale Goblet was good $ 6 but sweeter than usual reds(I was warned). Guinness tap $ 4 was not cold, i would not want to get it again. Stella and Boddingtons can each $ 4. It started drizzling and we were sitting outside. It took them a while before opening the canopy(coupled with a lecture on windy conditions and hazards of opening it) but thankfully it all worked out. Service attentive, average friendliness. I’m 50⁄50 about coming back here in the future… Free parking in structure first 2 hours.

OMG I’ve been to this place twice and the first time was okay because I only drank beer and had a few bites of some appetizers(Service was still really awful and we waited forever for our waitress to get us anything). This past week I came and had a full meal because I’ve been dying to try their steak, guiness and mushroom meat pie. What a fuckin let down. I’m so sorry that I dragged my friends here because all of their food was SO bad. We came on Friday 6⁄12 around 7pm, and the server was a total idiot. Always beware when your server doesn’t write down any of the orders, we were a party of 4 and it wasn’t very busy and thought«ok, maybe he’ll get it right», NOPE. Two friends ordered the burger, and one got it medium well and the other medium. When they brought them out and tried to serve them we asked«which one is medium well/medium?» They couldn’t answer and also didn’t give a shit about serving the right one. Lucky for them my friends aren’t the type to make a fuss and just put up with their bullshit, giving them the benefit of the doubt. When I ordered my meat pie though I specifically did so with mashed potatoes and they brought out fries so I sent it back. They messed up ¾ of the orders, a staggering 75% FAILURERATE. After my order was corrected, that server NEVER came back, we actually saw him coming out of a parking garage, guess he took an 1.5 hour break in the middle of serving. The food was absolutely atrocious. They salt their food SO much that it’s nearly inedible. I don’t even want to think about the actual amount of sodium we all consumed, their fries were visibly overtly salted and we were trying to shake off the bits. We all love mashed taters but after one bite your mouth just shrivels up from all the salt. My meat pie was also sooooooo bad. It’s pretty much oversalted(the only consistent theme going on here) gelatinous gravy, with bits of mushroom and steak, except most of the«steak» is fat. And it’s the gross, normally inedible, artery clogging fat that you cut away and toss. I thought this was a 4 star rated restaurant in Pasadena, and it is only 4 stars if you only drink beers. Do NOT eat the food. I was so dehydrated and bloated for days it was disgusting, I’ll never make the mistake of coming to this establishment again.

63BEERSONTAP! ANDWHATAYAKNOW, MY63rdREVIEWFOR2015! BACKGROUND: Lucky Baldwins British Pub & Café was opened in July 1996 by English owners David Farnworth and Peggy Simonian, who turned a run down business into the beer haven it is today. it is located in the heart of Old Town Pasadena, in one of the oldest buildings in town. Lucky Baldwins Delirium Pub was opened in 2005, in the quaint village-like town of Sierra Madre up in the foothills. Like any authentic British pub, Lucky Baldwins offers a friendly family environment and is frequented by many locals. A full kitchen serving breakfast, lunch and dinner makes Lucky Baldwins a perfect place to have a traditional British meal for the whole family. STATS: Metered Street Parking Parking Structures nearby Monday — Sunday 8:00 am — 1:30 am Indoor/outdoor seating EXPERIENCE: Although I’ve never been to Ireland myself, walking into Lucky Baldwin’s makes me feel as though I am walking into an Irish public house. This two floor venue has a friendly, upbeat feel to it with large, high tables perfect for minor groups who would wish to sit on bar stools or stand. Upstairs are tables and chairs made for two or bigger groups. The outside seating along the alley offers a casual scene great for people watching. Don’t fill up on all their top brews, because this place offers quite the grub menu. The fish and chips and a 1903 are mighty tasty together and their rice pudding… OMGoodness!!! Thank heaven for that hidden spot in the tummy reserved for dessert. Their fish and chips are a hefty serving and a moderate grubber might not have room for their delicious rice pudding if it weren’t for that h-spot. The Chipotle Chicken Sammie is tender, juicy, and has a good Chipotle kick. A friend of mine messaged me out of the blue late one night asking what that phenomenal dessert I had at Lucky’s was that last time we hung out. Funny, she wasn’t a fan of rice pudding until she saw my facial expression when I put that first spoon full in my mouth. Oh yeah, it’s just that good. I kid you not, she told the waiter, «I’ll have what she’s having». Unlike most institutions who serve it fresh out of the fridge, Lucky’s serves it fresh from the stove, so nice and warm and just oh so MMM-MMM good. Baffles me how she could forget such an experience. Looking for a great venue that offers great food and brew, to go along with some festivities? Check out their website for special events. Events such as, Belgian Beer Festival, IPA festivals, Octoberfest and the list goes on, placing Lucky Baldwins in the top five Belgian beer bars in the US. Saúde!!! When you’ve watched soccer at pubs in Europe, you spend your time looking for a similar experience in the US because you realize its the way it should be watched. So, yesterday was El Clasico, which is Real Madrid v. Barcelona. For the last one, I was in DC and the first bar I attempted filled to capacity. I wasn’t sure if there was a bar in Pasadena that would have those kinds of crowds, but my husband did a little research and thought Lucky Baldwin’s was the place. He was right. We got there early because I wanted to ensure I got a seat. We arrived over an hour before the game. Sure enough, the downstairs bar was already full. There were a couple of corners with seats, but they didn’t have good views of the tvs. They have tvs on their patios and there were seats out there, but as we were trying to figure out where to sit, staff told us there was an upstairs with a few seats left. Sure enough, we found a great seat with great views of the tv. Perfect. The crowd was very lively and a majority of them were wearing their Barcelona jerseys. Perfect. Its an English pub, so I decided to try their food; Fish & Chips. The Fish & Chips? Just OK. Also, tried the Stuffed Jalapenos. Standard. As for Beer? I actually started with a $ 4 Mimosa which was good, but wouldn’t go well with my Fish & Chips and I switched to beer. I asked the server for a recommendation thats similar to an Allagash White and she brought the perfect beer, Blanche de Bruxelles. Drank these throughout the game. My husband drank these too, switched for a bit to the Craftsman Heavenly Hefe(good, but a little more bitter). Service was great! Despite crowds, they were able to keep the drinks & food coming. Will definitely go back to watch a game.
