My husband and I came in for a quick dinner tonight. We wanted to sit outside, our hostess Jessica said it wouldn’t be a problem and accommodated us quickly! We had the best server! His name was Armando. He was quick and very friendly. Even though he seemed busy he didn’t act overwhelmed. Great service by these two! Absolutely coming back!

My first time here and everything was outstanding! Tried the garlic beef and it was delicious. The cilantro albacore roll was so delicious. And the service from our server Carlos was amazing so attentive and friendly, he made the experience amazing. Will definitely come back!

Came in yesterday 6÷17÷16 around 8:45ish for date night. The place was not super busy but it wasn’t slow We have eaten at Kabuki multiple times and every time is a different experience. This time was probably the most pleasant visit so far. There were three hostesses up front. One of them was calling out names for the wait list her name was Kimberly I believe and that girl has an attitude problem. She doesn’t know how to communicate with guests. She definitely shouldn’t be a host. Being a host means you’re the face of the establishment because you are the first and last person a customer will speak to! As for the other two, one had a name tag that read ‘MC’ so I’m not sure what her name is but she was nice when taking our name down. The third host walked us to our table and i believe her name was Jessica? She was nice. She asked us how our day was going and handed us our menus instead of just dropping them in the middle. Our servers name was ‘Swan’(?) but she was really nice. Soft spoken and very accommodating. If it wasn’t for our server and for the hostess who sat us, I would have given them one star. Management was also walking around running food and helping with to go orders! It’s always nice to see management helping their staff instead of leaving them to fend for themselves. Overall, it was a pleasant visit. I would recommend. We ordered Salmon Sashimi, a couple cocktails, edamame, salmon roll with added avocado and couple other things.

Love the food, love the service, and since I’m a member, I’m raking up points like crazy! Yeah, sucks that the bathrooms are way far and parking is separate pay, but dang I love this kabuki. Our go to is nigori sake iced green tea, Alaskan roll, albacore crunch roll, spicy tuna hand rolls on soy paper, and the Ramen soups are wow on a cold day!

TERRIBLESERVICE. When walking around Old Town, you want a good stress free time. Avoid this place! The employees obviously do not want to work there and the quality of food is just a gimmick.

Decent sushi if you’re in a hurry hungry and need a quick fix. Nothing out of the ordinary. The Vegas roll is served hot and can burn your moth as the portion sizes are too large to eat and to hard to cut without the whole thing falling apart. Hamachi sushi was not so fresh the albacore sushi was good. Tea was average as was the edamame. Service was quick and courteous. Prices ok at lunch. Parking not bad. Like the TVs at the sushi bar and outdoor seating option.

I love Kabuki! You can’t go wrong with their happy hour. The best roll is the Alaskan roll and the shrimp tempura. I used to be fan of their sesame chicken but now it’s taste like they use old chicken.

Extremely happy to have Anne as the new manager! She is awesome! I know her from the Cerritos location. I will miss having her there, but we are so exited to have her here in Pasadena. Great decision Kabuki.

false advertisement. Forget about checking in, they DONOT honor check in appetizers. Service is ok. My number one complaint will have to be that this male server is constantly cussing while talking to other servers. I am absolutely disappointed in this restaurant. Servers must think that just because we aren’t looking in their eyes, that we are deaf. We could hear all of your conversations considering that the register has tables all around them. Attention management please educate your servers on talking amongst themselves on their complaints of their jobs. They seem to be so unhappy for whatever reason and expressing themselves on the floor like the customers cannot hear them whining about everything.

For some reason I like the Pasadena bar much better then the Woodland Hills mostly for the taste of rice — yes sushi is a rice dish. This location is nice for people watching as its location is on Colorado. We sit outside. Service is great, sushi is always fresh. It is an amercanized Japanese menu, but they have many dishes to choose from. I just cant bring my self to order anything other then sushi. I order nigiri fish and really like the vegie tempura. The kids have been getting chicken and we converted them to sushi eaters in this location.

First timers here with my wife. Beyond our expectation! 5stars. Awesome vibe, delicious sushi, and excellent customer service from Michael. Very patient and attentive recommended great rolls and the Sake Sangria. Definitly coming back next week for happy hour:) Second time here and it feels just like the first . Another 5 stars! This time Richard was our server because Michael was off and did an awesome job as well. Food was just delicious as the first time. Ordered something new tonight. Spicy noodles with shrimp, oysters, calamari, mussle, and scallops. Didnt eat all day just for this. Always hits the spot. Thank you kabuki team !

Let me start by say I was very surprised how well the service and food was from a chain on top of that the prices were reasonable I was stuffed when I left and and it didn’t break the bank.

I’ve been to most of the sushi restaurants in Pasadena. Kabuki is one of my favorites and is my go-to on a weekday for quick, easy, and consistent sushi. The only thing I don’t like about this place is they play country music for some odd reason. My favorite is their tuna, in various forms(Spicy tuna over crispy rice, spicy tuna cut roll, albacore sashimi). The prices are extremely reasonable, about $ 6 for a tuna cut roll, and the quality is right up there with the more expensive sushi restaurants. They also have a great little patio. Another thing I think is great about Kabuki is it also works for people who don’t like sushi because they have lots of other great options like ramen, chicken and tofu dishes.

Power out at the homefront on a Weekday night, So Eating Out was in Order. Grabbed a last reservation thru Opentable. Parked at the garage on DeLacey(90 minutes free). Stepped up and was seated within 5 minutes(we had arrived 20 minutes early). With Unilocal Check-in you get an order of Fried Gyoza(the server promoted the deal). Cool. Had a bottle of the TyKu Coconut Nigori. It was brought with a box of ice to keep it cold. I ordered the Sushi Moriawase. Comes with a miso soup or salad. Sushi includes: tuna, yellowtail, halibut, egg, albacore, krab, eel, asparagus &6 spicy tuna(or california). Sushi was good. It was too much food and I had to share with the table. Finally, our server was fantastic. She was friendly and fast at refilling soda.

Usually this place is okay so I had no problem ordering the ½ dozen oysters, the spicy tuna salad, the fatty yellowtail sushi and the sweet shrimp sushi. I love my raw food and normally this would not be a big deal. Let’s just say that I’ve had gastrointestinal problems within an hour of finishing this meal and won’t be back here again. Maybe it’s time for a health inspection?

Starving and sushi was on my mind. THEAMBIANCE: THESUSHI: I sat at the sushi bar. I started off with sake(salmon, 2 pieces, $ 4.25). The salmon was fresh and really good. For a roll I tried the Cilantro Albacore Roll(shrimp tempura, cream cheese, cucumber topped with albacore, red onion, and cilantro, $ 12.95). Be on notice that the roll is cut into BIG pieces! I was like, whoa. This monster of a roll came out. The roll was tasty. It definitely had a kick to it. A bit spicy. I would definitely return to have some sake and to try another roll. THETIPS: The restrooms are not in the actual restaurant. You have to walk down a stairwell close to the front right of the restaurant(when walking in) and go around a corner. It is an awkward set-up. There is outside patio seating facing Colorado Blvd. if you want to enjoy the outdoors. Park on Colorado and Delacey. The parking structure gives you ninety(90) minutes free parking no validation needed.

I ordered yellowtail sake box sushi, miso soup and green salad. The sushi was surprisingly good. everything is compressed into a small sushi box and there isn’t much rice, which I liked. I loved the salad dressing too! Service was beyond excellent! The server went out of his way to accommodate my fiancé’s request. Nice ambience, free edamame appetizer, good service.

Blegh. I came here with my husband for an early dinner while we were out shopping around Pasadena. I was gonna check on Unilocal for what people had to say, but I was like«no lets just go for it!». I really wish I had, because it seems like other people have had similar situations. Hostess seemed like it may have been her first week maybe? We followed her to a table, then she turned around and was like«oh no don’t follow me» haha We finally got our table and got two mug beers, special combo sushi plate, and teriyaki chicken. This might totally just be me, but there was something floating in my drink that my husband swears was just ice crystals from the beer hitting the frozen mug, but I’m not totally sure about that. Meh. **combo sushi plate: the first thing I ate was the white fish, I think… and it was disgusting. It was chewy and fishy and just not appetizing at all. There was no way it was getting consumed so I had to spit it in a napkin. So gross. The rest of the fish was a little off putting after that, I don’t get why you would have krab sushi, that wasn’t great. Tuna and salmon were fine. Even the egg sushi though had something off putting about it. Couldn’t get to the CA rolls that came with it and had no desire to take them back with me. Chicken Teriyaki plate: meh. Nothing extraordinary. Tasted like the kind of teriyaki chicken you get from a cheap Chinese place though. Overall, I would definitely not recommend this place. There are so many better sushi places with really good sushi at a decent price. They need to focus on one thing and get it right: they have so many different types of food, I’m sure it spreads their quality out. The buns looked good, maybe they could focus on something like that?
