Eddie’s Edition

Eddie has been cutting my hair for about two years now, and this review has been long overdue. The man is a genius when it comes to hair. First time I met Eddie, I simply showed him a picture of how I wanted my hair to look, and BOOM — he does it perfectly. Eddie is meticulous with his craft and is always happy to make slight alterations to your liking.

Excellent haircut, carefully done. Eddie was able to figure out what would look good and did a beautiful job.

I have been taking my son to Eddie for about a year now. Before that, I had a hard time finding someone who could do my son’s very thick head of hair justice. We found Eddie on Unilocal.Eddie is the man. If you have a lot of hair, Eddie is a wizard. My son’s hair not only looks great right after a cut, but it grows out nicely, too. The true measure of a great cut! AND he rinses my son’s hair again AFTER the cut. No more itchy hair all down your back or all over your clothes. You can go on with your day without needing to change your shirt and/​or take a shower. Eddie’s a quiet guy who does a great job. A haircut that is as relaxing as it is well-​done. HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Ok, let me start off by saying Eddie is great. The 3 star rating has nothing to do with his skills. In fact, I wanted to give him a 5 when I first went in, I just hadn’t gotten around to writing this review. I went to Eddie about 5 times. Each time I came out with a great haircut, probably among the best I have ever gotten. I would show him a picture, tell him that I trusted his opinion and let him get to work.
The last time I went, however, I was not completely satisfied with the cut. I guess I was used to a certain level of cut from Eddie and I was telling him that something was different. He didn’t say much, just smiled and said I had forgotten my style. He could sense my tentativeness I’m sure. After some discussion, he trimmed a little more off one side and we left it as is. It was not a horrible cut, I just wasn’t as satisfied as the other times. Even then I would have given him 5 stars because it was a better cut than I would’ve gotten elsewhere. The reason I’m giving him 5 stars is because he stopped responding to me after that time. About 6 weeks after that cut I called and text Eddie, but he said he was too busy for me that weekend… so I waited a week. I started texting and calling around Wednesday for an appointment that weekend, but he neither returned my calls nor answered my texts. I even gave him the benefit of the doubt and assumed he might be out of town or something, but no. I never heard from him again. I’m really sorry it didn’t work out… he was my go to guy.

First time having my haircut with Eddie and it was an excellent experience. Eddie is very easy to talk to and is great at what he does. I came In with some idea of what I wanted but really just let him do what he thought was best. My hair ended up looking great and I was very happy with the way it looked. I did not feel rushed and felt as if he really took his time to make sure my haircut was right. I learned today you get what you pay for, Eddie’s services were well worth the money. I’ll be back for sure.

I’ve been going to Eddie on and off for quite a while and I’m always sorry when I end up having to go somewhere else to get my hair cut. With Eddie, I bring in a few pictures of a couple different styles and he’ll tell me which ones he likes/​dislikes and why he thinks it will work for my face shape. Then he gets to work and all I have to do is sit back and relax.
With other stylists I have to keep my eyes open and watch what they’re doing in case they do something wrong, but with Eddie I have such complete trust in his skills I can afford to close my eyes and relax. He’s incredibly detail oriented and meticulous and I know that he’ll somehow work his magic and turn my disaster hair into something stylish and neat.
Plus, Eddie is a stylish dude himself and his hair is always on point so you know that he’s someone you can trust to do a good job with your hair. Thanks for everything, Eddie!

My first time after a horrible first experience elsewhere, and I left very happy. As someone said before, he did shampoo my hair because the hair is slightly different after, and he fixed up everything! He told me how to style my hair afterwards (I was always bad at it) and I’m extremely satisfied.

Oh my goodness. To start, I’m very particular with who cuts my hair because I’ve had some horrific experiences. Especially since my hair is curly and for many stylist it’s hard to cut. I heard about Eddie because my boyfriend has been getting his hair cut with him for about 6 months and I’ve been loving it. He leaves with exactly what he wants and feels amazing about his hair. I had a hair cut two months ago at some salon I won’t name, and I left with my hair not looking like it changed much. I was pretty disappointed, so my boyfriend set an appointment for me with Eddie. I just left… and I LOVE MY HAIR. It was so dead and lifeless before. I’ve never felt confident after a hair cut, but I feel really beautiful! Also, the salon is very clean and the interior design is pretty sleek /​modern. So great! I’m absolutely coming back to Eddie.

First I want to let y’all know that I am a lady. I wanted to balance out the gender ratio of reviews here to let everyone know that Eddie is here for us ladies too!
For most of my life, I had long hair and my fair share of salon experiences dealing with said long hair. I recently decided to go really short, and it has been challenging to find someone who could make that look good! Eddie was not the first person to cut my hair short, but he did a great job of taking a new, fresh take on it. He is very meticulous and skilled with his tools – much more so than the people I had gone to before. He took into account my naturally slightly wavey hair texture, my face shape, and the general style I was going for and voila! Including wash, cut, and style, the whole thing took maybe 45 min.

Eddie is a great hair stylist. He always gets it just how u want it and he never messes up just tell him what you want and he’ll get it done.

I’ve got to go 5 stars here… my hair and head haven’t seen that kind of attention from a stylist in years… Eddie was outstanding in giving me the cut I wanted and I honestly felt every follicle of my head was styled and cut… Overall, he’s got serious game and I’ll be back… Props here!

I went to Eddie yesterday based on the positive reviews here, and the experience was great. I wasn’t really sure what to do with my hair, I just wanted it shorter, so I asked him to do what he thought looked best. The result was great, and the trouble spots that other stylists normally trip up on (a cowlick here, a part that won’t lay down there) he navigated flawlessly.
Note: I’m Chinese. And so is my hair. That’s how that works.
I was also pleasantly surprised that he shampoo’d my hair, but as Eddie explained, the cut will look different afterwards so he needs to touch it up and reshape it after the wash. And for all of his expertise, the haircut did not take a long time.
I’ll definitely go back.

If you’re a white male nearing middle age with thinning hair, don’t even think about it!
My boyfriend and I went in for hair cuts together — mine ended up ok, his ended up awful.
When I made the appointment, I explained in detail my boyfriend’s situation: he’s 42 with blonde, already thin-​to-​medium texture hair with a large thinning patch on top. I even joked that if my balding boyfriend got another bad hair cut, he was going straight home after the cut and shaving his head. I told Eddie that if he did not have experience cutting this type of hair, please let me know so my boyfriend can go elsewhere, but that I would come in for my cut with him anyway.
My cut was simple enough and turned out ok, but the price definitely wasn’t worth the somewhat blah and basic cut I received. I wanted to keep my back-​to-​front asymmetry while growing out my former short cut. I ended over-​paying for a super simple cut I probably could have gotten cheaper elsewhere. No harm, no foul, though.
My boyfriend’s cut, however, turned out horribly. He explained again about his balding/​thinning hair on top and how he was trying to grow out the front and top to push back over the top of his head. He emphasized the words «growing out» several times. I think Eddie had no clue what to do with my boyfriend’s hair, but he went on with the cut anyway. He cut off an inch or more from my boyfriend’s entire head. He practically emphasized his balding spot with his short trim of the hair right around it. He even said during the cut that my boyfriend’s hair was difficult to cut — which is exactly what he should have told me on the phone or at least before he began! My 42 year old boyfriend ended up with a sliced and shaved cut appropriate for a little boy, and the price was less than cheap.
On the car ride home, my guy told me he wished he had just gone for an $ 8 hair cut at SuperCuts. Enough said.

Summary: Best place to get your haircut if you’re an Asian guy. Eddie is meticulous, precise, and actually provides advice on what hair style or cut you should get based upon your face shape. That being said he’ll also cut it however you want and it’ll be damn good.
This review has been a long time coming and I’m sorry Eddie for having taken so long to write this, but here it is. I’ve been going to Eddie for about a year and a half now and he is by FAR the best hair stylist I’ve had. I’ve been to Rudy’s in Venice, Floyds, The Hive, Blind Barber, Stag Hair Parlor on Melrose, and Fur Hair Gallery in Silverlake, and Eddie’s is still the best. The issue I had with the other parlors is that they are inconsistent and have a hard time cutting Asian hair. They don’t understand the intricacies and difficulties of straight hair, and just cut it as though I were Caucasian. It doesn’t work like that! Also they are incredibly overpriced and tend to give less of a damn if your haircut comes out well.
Lets talk about Asian guy’s hair. If you’re an Asian guy you know what I’m talking about; cut it too short and your hair stands up and it looks like you’re back in middle school or fresh off the boat. If it’s too long it just waves and around and does whatever the fuck it wants. There is a very narrow spectrum wherein an Asian guy’s hair length is perfect, an Eddie must be the son of a hammer, because he fuckin’ nails it!!! Every time I’ve gone in he has given me exactly what I wanted. Side part, bam, done awesome. Undercut, bam done awesome. Bowl cut bam, done awesome. The last ones a joke, but you get what I mean, he’s good, he’s consistent, and he’s the god send to every Asian guy who has had to sport a shitty haircut for a month, waiting for it to grow out.

I have been looking for a barber around Pasadena area because I’m finally realizing that driving to the valley to get a haircut is ridiculous. It’s hard to find another barber you can trust with your hair. A barber you can trust to make you look good.
Today as I was walking by, thinking I need a haircut soon. I walked in thinking it was just a barber shop and I was mistaken. It’s a salon. Asked for Eddie and he told me it’s only by appointment. He looked at his watch and said he could squeeze me in before his next client shows up. Got a nice haircut and feeling fresh. He tried his pomade as I got the men’s hairstyle every guy in town has.
I’d go back again because he went and above, squeezing me in his schedule when I was clueless about making an appointment.
