Looking for a good dinner spot in Pasadena? This is it! The ambiance was very nice! Not too noisy, and not too quiet. I had the salad and hanger steak, which I highly recommend! The salad had just the right amount of dressing, and the steak was perfectly seasoned and cooked! Those I dined with also all said their dinner was delicious.

My family and I visit Bistro 45 once a year. The food is always on point. From first course to last, there is a unique twist to each plate that makes the dinner an enjoyable, memorable experience. Their selections never get old; once you think you know a dish, they reinvigorate it with something new the next time around. In previous years, we’ve experienced less than courteous servers, but recently, they’ve been much more friendly and reliable. The servers you see year over year are always the best, but this year, they’ve brought in some new severs that are both friendly and cute! To start, if you like raw fish, I’ve consistently found their Albacore Tartare a delight to the senses. I’ve tried other things over time, but this has always been my favorite. If you like lamb, go for their roasted lamb. Now, if you don’t want to spend that much, you can’t go wrong with a good steak — the Cabernet reduction isn’t something we’ve been able to duplicate(not yet, but we’re trying). Over the years, I’ve tried a variety of their desserts, but my favorite has always been the Lemon Trio. It’s rich, yet refreshing, and leaves you satisfied. However, if you’re a chocolate lover, try their Chocolate Soup. Yeah, seriously — Chocolate *Soup*. Oh… And their wine… :) All in all, Pasadena is filled with delicious restaurants and amazing experiences. If you haven’t already tried this place out, it’s a classic. Bistro 45 is great for a romantic date, a nice(fancy) family dinner, or if you’re looking to impress a business client.

Wow… had one of the best meals I’ve had in years at Bistro 45. Great cozy atmosphere and personable service from the proprietor, Robert Simon. Started with a braised short-rib that was so tender it melt in you mouth like butter. Moved on to an aged rib eye that might have been a top 5 best steak I’ve ever had. Growing up in Texas — I’ve had plenty opportunities to have good steak. Cooked perfectly and accompanied by an assortment of succulent veggies — I think I had died an gone to heaven. What really sealed the deal was Robert’s extensive wine guidance which perfectly paired French and Napa cabs to complete the picture. Service was spot on as well. Robert Simon and his crew have not slipped or sat back on their culinary laurels. This place still has it and if your looking for a treat — this is the place to go for a wonderful eating experience!

The happiest and kindest hostess works here! It was a spur of the moment that my boyfriend decided to take me on a date here after work. We called in even though we were already 5 minutes away from the Bistro to inquire if reservations were needed. We were immediately seated once we arrived by seriously, the nicest woman in Pasadena. All the male staff here were interesting. They were all very nice, but gave a vibe similar to how a grumpy Uncle John would help at the dinner table during Thanksgiving. But it was fine because we ordered two glasses of wine and spirits were lifted up again. We should’ve bought the bartender and waiters some wine, too! They would’ve helped turn some frowns upside down, hehe. Anyway — the food. The food was unbelievably good. There’s this app called Snapchat and I think I literally spammed all of my friends with my amazing experience with the food here. I could not stop myself from sharing how much I enjoyed the food here at Bistro 45. We started our dinner with their fancy Caesar Salad. It was delicious, especially with the pesto that the chef incorporated into the dish, plus the Parmesan crisps. The boyfriend had the hanger steak. The steak was so tender and juicy and the sauce paired so well with it. The hanger steak was served with brussels sprouts and it was seriously the best side of brussels sprouts ever. It was probably prepared with the most simple ingredients but the flavoring of it was so DELICIOUS. I might have to ask for extra servings of it the next t
