Good if you want your korean BBQ fix without having to go to a kbbq place and getting all stinky. It takes a little while to get your food but it’s just the owner and his wife running the place so you really can’t get too mad. They also have good wings, but a little too much sauce for my liking. A good little place nonetheless.

The Korean chicken wing is kind of ubiquitous on LA menus lately, not Kyochon style but sauced with gochujang. We figured we’d try a local place specializing in it. BBQ Hot Spot is kind of the pits, a small strip mall spot, a smattering of tables, no décor to speak of, and overall a place you don’t want to dine in or linger. Ordered teriyaki chicken which comes with rice and salad and chicken wings. The wings were not crunchy and the sauce was thick, goopy, and really unappetizing.

I read the reviews and was expecting better quality meat. Had the combo chicken beef plate, ingredients are low quality and salads have probably been sitting for a week. Not impressed for a 9 dollar meal. Rather go to yoshinoya, seriously…

Don’t let the exterior(or interior) fool you, the food at this little hole in the wall is delicious. The hot wings were the best I’ve ever had. The bulgogi beef and chicken were delicious. On top of that, the owner was charming.

I will come back to try other sauces for the chicken wings. I tried out the $ 7.99 deal for 9 chicken wings with Macaroni salad and green lettuce salad. The servings were pretty hefty for the price. I split the meal with my boyfriend and it was just the right amount of food. The chicken wings were actually better than what i thought they were going to be, considering that this place looked like a hole-in-the-wall type of place. I had the K-Hot sauce on my wings. It’s the chili red sauce that is used for Korean banchan broccoli or rice cakes when you get KBBQ. Its a great sauce, but they litterally drench the chicken in the sauce. The size of the chicken wings are also very big compared to any other place that have little dinky wings. The sides were pretty average(the macaroni salad/green lettuce salad). Nothing really much to say, except, that they are just ok. I will try this place again, and would recommend people to come here.

I don’t live near here so I looked on Unilocal for a place to eat and found this place. It’s a small divey place in a strip mall. The counter looks like pieces of wood thrown together, the water is served out of an igloo, and the tables and chairs could be cleaned out in just a few minutes. It’s the kind of place you order to-go and you get a menu so next time you can call it in. I say this because it happened about 3 times while I ate lunch there. But eat here anyway, the food is delicious! I ordered the beef plate and it was SOOOO good, served on rice, with a side of iceberg lettuce with ranch dressing on it(ask for dressing on the side if that’s your preference) and a macaroni salad that was okay. But the beef — the flavor is so good, like a BBQ or char flavor that really hit the spot. I’m already making plans to come back the next time I’m in this part of town. Once you order, be ready to wait 7 minutes for your order to come up. Worth the wait.

The food here is delicious! I tried their lunch special with chicken, rice, salad, and buffalo wing for $ 5.99! What a great deal for the amount of food given. I like their beef bowl more than the chicken bowl which had a Korean flavor texture. The Korean guy was really nice making small conversation with me. I will be back! I also love supporting mom and pop shops in my local community.

This place is a hidden gem. The place is really small but not really crowded. The owner is an old korean gentleman and he’s really, really nice. Got some seriously good BBQ beef. Awesome playlist with 80’s groovy hits.

Been coming here for lunch for a couple months now and I must say, it’s definitely so worth the price. The store itself looks a bit ghetto from the outside but the food is delicious! They have a couple lunch special deals that are extremely cheap, with a lot of food. They have a Lunch Box special that comes with salad, macaroni salad, chicken teriyaki, rice and dumplings. the chicken teriyaki here isn’t your typical chicken teriyaki. it’s Korean style and has a really good taste — a mix of teriyaki, honey, and hot sauce. Definitely a gem hole in the wall.

If you like Hot Wings, this place has some good hot wings, I choose the American Style Hot Wings, it takes about 10 to 15 minutes to cook up, but worth it, it’s so bomb. That’s all I really get there. Definitely worth trying out. Plus the man that runs the place has a good heart, a nice and friendly guy.

I tried this place out on a whim. It was mid-day and I was starving. The shop is a one man operation. The older Korean gentleman takes your order, then proceeds to the kitchen to prepare your food. The menu is small, consisting of standard Korean bbq meats and dumplings. This tiny shop serves some seriously good bulgogi beef. I had the bbq beef plate. It had lots of bulgogi beef on top of rice with pasta salad and romaine lettuce salad on the side. It filled me up and left me feeling happy.

The wings were okay. Not what I expected. I wanted very hot and spicy and they were a little sweet. The owners were very nice and pleasant. I want to try something else there so I can give them a better rating. So I will try in about a month or so.

if you’re looking for a reasonable and delicious Bulgogi fix — I recommend this place! The owner is also super nice and they spoke with pride on their Bulgogi quality. I love it when owners are involved with their product and they’re proud with what they serve! Strongly recommend! You can even call ahead to pick up your order and it was quick!

Beef«Bulgogi» bowl($ 6.50) Is pretty good, everything else is pretty lack luster including the mac salad. And owner doesn’t really know how to answer your questions regarding his food selection, so don’t bother asking. Prices are decent if your hungry for kbb

Food here is good and the owners are super nice. The first time I came here, the owner thought he recognized me even though I had never been there and asked if I had a brother that looked like me(I don’t). Yesterday, I made my second visit a few months later and he said«Long time no see». Not sure if he remembered me or my impostor«brother». Anyway, I tried both the chicken and beef combo plate and the lunch combo with 3 wings. I enjoyed everything I ate, and the wings were pretty damn good. I ordered the K-Hot sauce, and I agree with other reviewers that the wings have a lot of sauce but I liked the sauce alot. Definitely will come back soon for wings and chicken!

The place is small and clean. The eldery owner speaks english and very kind. I purchased the lunch special $ 5.99-chicken teriyaki, ribs, macaroni salad. You can choose 3 types of sauces-hot, medium, not hot. The sauce are homemade. I picked the medium wings and it has some kick to the wings.

I love the texture of their fried chicken wings. A bit too much sauce with the k-hot wings… but you can work some of it off. Sauce reminds me more of that traditional korean spicy paste than it does kyochon or bbq chicken. Service from the friendly old man and his wife(?) was good. I also tried the bbq beef bowl. That was ok… I’d probably stick to b-man’s or flame broiler for that. Get the wings though! Side note: New restaurant… very minimal in terms of equipment. Self serve water cooler and the owner uses pen and paper. Old school!

*3.5 stars Great k-hot wings with a punch! Super crispy with good sauce ala Kyochon style. I would suggest asking for half of the sauce since they really pile it on. I ended up taking all of my wings out of the sauce and scraping off the excess. It’s good sauce, just way too much making it a bit too salty and spicy to eat. Eating it with rice helps too. I’ll be back!
