Allison R Yim, MD

Dr. Yim is my son’s pediatrician. Her group came highly recommended by two of my co-​workers. She is professional, efficient and warm without being insincere. I love every member of her group — Yim, Collo and Asuncion. They all took care of my kid while he was in the hospital, through the jaundice, weight loss, etc. They are really good about calling and making sure that you’re up to date of what is going on with your child. The office visits are painless. Quick to get in and out. I am extremely happy with this group and recommend without reservation.

Dr. Yim is my son’s pediatrician. She looks relatively young; therefore, I don’t think she’s like an old school doctor, which I like.
She seems educated and well-​spoken; therefore, can answer most of our questions as new parents. However, it doesn’t seem like she tells you anything more than you ask for. In other words, if you want her to give you tips or something, you have to bring up an incident on your own and then she’ll go into it. For regular check ups during the first year, she just goes through a checklist and asks if your kid is doing such and such; if you answer yes, she just moves on. It seems kinda rush, but if you ask her detailed questions, she will spend time with you.
Overall, I think she’s a good doctor, but I think you just have to have a list of questions prepared before you go to the appointment.
Also, there were a lot of complaints on Unilocal about front staff, but I’ve had no issues. I just check in and then go to our assigned room. With respect to the staff, I don’t think I’ve encountered rude staff either, but most of the staff seem like they don’t really care about the well-​being of your kid. Seems normal to me. If I saw 20 babies a day, I wouldn’t really care about the baby and show each one of them love, but then again — I am a male so it would be kinda creepy if I did that.

I should have written this review years ago. I have been taking my girls to Dr. Yim since 2009 when my older daughter was born. Now I am pregnant with my 3^rd child and all my kids will be going to see Dr. Yim. She is very calm and my kids like her and she knows the answer to all my questions. She is very smart and of course good with kids. I tried another Dr. for my daughter when Dr. Yim was not available and she was not good with kids at all. I was surprised that she was a pediatrician. If you’re looking for a good Dr., give Dr. Yim a try. You will be happy. Her staff is very friendly too.
