My husband and I went to this place many years ago for frames and matting for some reproductions of Japanese Ukiyo-​e prints. A woman helped us — I don’t know if this was the owner. We said we wanted the frame and matting and we would assemble everything ourselves. We had the reproductions with us. She admired the pictures, rubbing her bare finger tip (!) over a particularly nice color, and then measured the size by laying a metal tape measure on the picture!
She obviously knew nothing about preservation of prints — you don’t touch the print with your bare fingers! and she was oblivious of the danger of using a metal tape measure on the surface of the print. I was appalled at the lack of care for my prints. Fortunately they were not originals. I would never take something valuable to these people and I have never been back.

The best framing around. They handled my paintings with extreme care, and the framing is perfect every time .
I will definitely be back.

Aarnun is the best. Marcia has an unerring eye for distinctive, beautiful frames and mats. She and her husband framed over two dozed pieces, mostly oils, but some drawings, photos and a sandpainting, for us when we lived in Pasadena. We have now moved away, and are bringing a new acquisition to her all the way from New Mexico because of her great touch. The selection of frames and mats is very large, and includes truly lovely unusual selections. For me, though, the way Marsha curates the selection is the real strength of Aarnun.
Their work is not cheap, but you do get what you pay for with Marcia and Ed.
