You suburban white people crack me up! You go to micro-chain restaurant for lobster and expect it to be fresh from the sea and prepared by culinary institute graduate when you know it’s a couple of dirty, 5′ tall Hondurans one generation removed from the jungle!

Went here on a recent Saturday and had their $ 19 lobster special. The waitress seemed a bit nervous about our order, which may have suggested it wasn’t a popular choice. Oh, well, it arrived in a timely fashion and the lobster was very hot. There was also vegetable medley that accompanied the dish and this was kind of greasy and tasteless. Also on the plate was an inspid and soggy potato croquette. The lobster was a bit overcooked and probably of the 1lb. variety. Not a lot of food here. My dining companion enjoyed her lobster, although I had to do the grunt work on it as she could not manage the process. Music was far too loud and the crowd was really sparse given the day and the time. Our waitress forgot napkins, which is poor form for anyone having to tackle a whole lobster but she was otherwise pleasant. The attached Fuddruckers was much busier. The taven had an attractive bar area, overlooking beautiful Route 46(sarcasm) but we ate in the main dining room. The loo is in the Fuddruckers and is a bit of a hike if nature is *really* calling. I guess we got what you could expect from a fast casual chain lobster dinner. Which is to say nothing to need to ever sample again. 2.1 stars from this crustacean lover.

Great food and excellent customer service! The host and waiter were extremely informative and very friendly! He gave good recommendations on the dishes & everything tasted wonderful. We will definitely be back. The presentation of the food was very nice and it was tasty. We did not care at all about sharing the space or room with Fuddruckers.

Visiting beautiful Northern NJ for a few weeks because of work. I have been doing a lot of eating out at both fine dining establishments to chain restaurants. I must give the French Onion Soup at this Tavern/Pub a two thumbs up, 5 Unilocal star rating!!! Not only covered and baked in cheese but what was underneath was excellent! Perfect flavor. I would also very highly recommend the Mac & Cheese. I ordered it in place of the fries that came with my meal(for a slight up-charge) and was very happy with my choice. Cheesy, creamy goodness! If the had to pick on the place at all it would be that the bathrooms are in an attached chain restaurant… Never saw that before! Good food, good booze availability and friendly service!

Went here for lunch with friends. Some things were really cool while others needed a vast amount of improvement. Overall, balancing the good with the bad, I’d say this place is an average bar/American food establishment. Pros: — great décor — many menu items with new/interesting flavors — food was tasty — homemade chips come with lunch — food presentation was on point — full bar with many specialty drinks/sangria blends Cons: — service can use a lot of improvement. Our waitress wasn’t very attentive and the food took a long time to come out — shares a building(and bathroom) with the fudruckers next door — not all credit cards are accepted

This place has great ambiance but that’s about the extent of it… the service was less than mediocre. Our waitress was indifferent and rarely checked on us. We started with the Irish nachos which were good. My husband had the wings, which were dry and tasted like old chicken. My friend got the crab fettuccini which she sent back because it tasted bad. Her husband got the sliders which he liked. I got the tuna which was so overcooked I couldn’t even eat it. I did get a side of potato croquettes which were good. We caught the manager and sent back two entrees(crab fettuccini and my overcooked dry tuna) which they did remove from the check. Once the bill came, after 20 minutes of waiting we had to physically seek out our waitress who clearly hated her job. All in all I’d never go back. The place is beautifully decorated and comfortable(both bar and restaurant) but the food wasn’t worth it. Plus the drinks were on the expensive side.

I’ve been going to Red Stone since it opened and it really seems to be like a Tale of Two Cities with different experiences on the two sides… the bar side and the restaurant side. Every single time I’ve come here and eaten in the bar area I’ve had nothing but a great experience. The beer selection is always great and is also always changing. The appetizers we’ve gotten here have always been excellent and I’ve honestly never had anything bad to say about the food or the service on the bar side of the house. I 100% recommend the Red Stone lollipops — Risotto balls in a marinara sauce — I can eat an entire meal of just these! Calamari is excellent as well! The restaurant side has brought me different experiences, however. I will start with a lack of consistency — I’ve had a couple lunches here where the service was just fine(somewhat slow, but not awful) and the food was good — I’ve tried mostly burgers and sandwiches here and they’ve been good for the most part. I’ve also been here a couple times where the service was really slow, the food was just ok, and the food presentation looked like a 10 year old had thrown it on the plate. I get it, it’s a tavern and not a high-end steakhouse, but don’t serve me a plate of food where it looks like the mashed potatoes fell off the side of the plate. My most recent two experiences were lunches with my wife and son — we had the Free Range BBQ Chicken, prime rib sandwich, chicken parm sandwich, the Red Stone Kobe Burger, salmon sandwich and a couple beers. The food was ok both times, though the chicken meal was a little overdone. All of the sandwiches and the burger were pretty good, but the fries weren’t great. Service was quite slow both times even though the restaurant wasn’t packed either time. Always bothers me when the wait staff doesn’t seem enthused with being there or they can’t answer questions about the menu Overall, I’d give the bar area 4 stars for the food, drinks and service-maybe even 4.5 if I could, but 3 overall because of some less than stellar service and just ok food in the restaurant area. If I could give half stars this would be a solid 3.5, but I just can’t round up to 4. I really just want this place to succeed, but if the consistency isn’t there people won’t be happy with their experience.

2.5 stars. I’m being nice by rounding to 3 for my rating. I hate to do this because the food I got was yummy but I’m just a little confused with the setup. I don’t like the fact that it’s joined to a Fudruckers. I got the Blackened Salmon entrée cooked Medium Well. It was delicious, as were the vegetables that accompanied it. However, my medium well appeared to be medium rare in parts. I didn’t eat parts of it. Next time I would definitely just order well done. I don’t enjoy my grilled salmon cold. And yes, I do eat sushi but that is different. The beer selection on tap was decent. The place is okay overall but there is nothing drawing me back. The food prices were a little high for the area. A solid 2.5 stars. Would be 3.5 if prices were slightly reduced and menu was expanded. Would be 4 stars if not connected inside to a cheaper burger joint.

I don’t give many 1 stars but unfortunately this place deserved it. 2x I have been here and I have had a poor meal with poorer service. None of the dishes I have had or the people that have come with us liked what they ordered. Service — 2x bad. 1 time the waitress came by to take our orders. If the service was better we would have ordered more drinks… but it was bad and we waited sooooo long for everything… and the place wasn’t busy… Food — poor poor poor… chicken dishes, burgers… ugh…just bland and poorly executed. Prices — I wouldn’t have paid more than $ 10 for our $ 60 meal. *I am not alone about this place. They cater to the business crowd who probably venture in from other area’s that are starving and would eat anything.

I am unsure if this restaurant has the same owners as when it was the Sonoma Chicken Coop. Anyway, upon walking in it is very good looking and everything looks new. They do share a building and bathroom with Fuddruckers, but I don’t quite understand why that’s such an issue for everyone? It’s how the building was made. Tons of seating. I’ve never seen it very busy, but to be fair I also have only come here after 8pm. We usually sit in the bar area, which has a few tall tables along the windows and a few cozy booth-type tables on each end. A little dark, but I really love the cozy booths. The bar area looks beautiful with marble countertop and sparkling new. The bartenders(who are also your server if you sit at a table over here) have always been friendly, pleasant, helpful and willing to chat if they aren’t too busy. During one visit, we had to ask about the fries we ordered, but that’s an honest mistake that can happen anywhere. All of the food we’ve had here was very good. Drinks are fairly priced, though I’d love to check out their happy hour. I will be back very soon. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area.

We were on the fence as to whether we wanted to sit down or go to Fuddruckers for a quick bight. We decided on Fudd’s but when we pulled up we realized that both of these places reside under one roof. We quickly went to the Fudd’s line and it was fairly long… and moving SLOWLY. I decided to walk over to the adjacent bar at Red Stone to check out the menu. The food looked good so we diced to make the move. The server came over relatively quickly and took our drink order. Drinks took a bit longer than I would have liked, but I’m sure making chocolate milk for the kids doesn’t exactly speed things up! I had the chicken marsala and it was pretty good. Chicken could have been pounded out a bit further to make it a little more tender, but the mushrooms and sauce were very good. The mashed potato croquets were very nice also. I would probably give this place 3.5 if I could, but…

Ok experience for lunch and terrible for dinner. I went to this tavern twice, first for business lunch and then for dinner with friends. Lunch was ok, the food was average, tasted like premade food. We shared an appetizer and I got a salad with chicken for lunch. The service was quick and overall experience was ok. The second visit was on a Friday night for dinner. The place was empty. There were only 2 tables taken. They have a great selection of beers so we enjoyed that. The service was good, but the food was terrible. The chicken wings were overly dry. The rib steak looked boiled and tasted terrible. When we tried to split the check, the barman charged the whole amount to one card and then charged it 5 times again to the same card trying to fix it. Our friends had to call the credit card company to dispute these 5 charges. Overall, bad experience.

I wish we could give half stars. I think this place deserves more than 4, but not quite 5. There are complaints about the service, and I guess I could too. but I won’t. I went for my second meal visit today, and I’ve been to the bar several times, where I’ve never been disappointed. My first dining experience was good with no complaints. This time we went and ordered the Irish nachos, which I was dying to try. I commented to my SO that it was taking a long time. Just after I said that, our entrées came out — a T-bone for him, Margherita pizza for me. I mentioned to the waitress that we didn’t get the app, and she told us it’d be out shortly. I had to laugh, who wants the app when the main dish is out? But, it was apparent she was still wet behind the ears. She was trying, and that’s what was important. So I didn’t get to try the Irish nachos, but at the pizza was really good. The steak was great too. The check was pretty awesome as well. You get really good food for a really good price. The atmosphere is very nice too.. I love the inside of this place(though the bathroom thing is a bit insane, especially if you’re at the bar!)

After seeing some bad reviews I had to check it out for myself. The service is slow, only 3 servers and they had to bus their own tables. At one point I didn’t see my server for 15 minutes; she did come with my food and asked if I wanted more iced tea(well duh I had my glass sitting empty on the edge of the table for you to see). The food was very good, I got the Prime Rib sandwich with fries. Again had an empty glass for a while and had to flag down the server to ask for another glass. I was surprised when I wasn’t asked how the food was, I made sure to say it anyway. Overall the food was good and the service was lacking.

Located next to Fuddruckers on Rt 46 Parsippany, Red Stone Tavern is a forgettable restaurant and bar. Red Stone itself is beautifully decorated, boasting wooden high chairs and tables, large TV sets and relative large bar area. The restaurant is very clean and look up to date. Coming in on a Friday evening for drinks and dinner one would expect a full house; it was empty. The bartender was friendly, but seemed to be in over her head. The bartender wasn’t up to snuff on mixed drinks, house specials or what wines were available. The food is palatable. The Red Stone pizza was really good! This pizza was topped with Fresh Mozzarella, House Made Tomato Sauce, Garlic Infused Olive Oil, Fresh Basil, Pulled Pork, Pineapple Mango Salsa and Parmigiano-Reggiano. The pizza tasted fresh and the crust was cooked to crispy perfection. The only complaint I had about the pizza was the prize at $ 20. The crispy jumbo wings and nachos were mediocre. The wings lacked flavor despite being drenched in BBQ sauce; and the nacho appeared as though someone dumped some Tostitos onto a plate, threw some cheese-whiz on them and zapped them in a microwaved. My biggest qualm with Red Stone Tavern is the service. To say that the service was slower than a snail moving through peanut butter would be an understatement. It took the server at least 20 minutes to come over and take our our order and about another 40 more minutes until our food came out. Trying to pay the bill was also painfully slow. I had to go to the bar area, request the bill, and subsequently go back to the bar area and pay the bill since the server never came to retrieve the check. It’s hard to understand the poor service since there were less than 10 people(including our party) at the restaurant. In addition, the server forgot to bring us silverware and dishware for our meal. Overall, Red Stone Tavern falls short. It is highly doubtful that I would revisit this restaurant again.

The serve fresh homemade potato chips, nice and crunchy and addicting! Ordered prime rib with grilled asparagus and a side of mac & cheese. All very good comfort food and an amazing price. We had the fondu which had dark chocolate with the following fun stuff to dip; strawberries, marshmallows, lady finger type cookies, pound cake pieces, pieces of rice cakes, and sliced bananas. Yum!!! Our waitress(Kathryn) was very attentive and extremely pleasant.

Meh. I came here a while back and was originally going to go to Fuddruckers with the bf but when we got to Fuddruckers, we were like why not try Red Stone? We never been and it’s connected to Fuddruckers. We wanted to watch the game and we’ve been to Fuddruckers many times but never gave Red Stone a shot. I wish we didn’t because we were not satisfied with our food. Perhaps we just ordered the wrong thing? We both got a chicken entrée and both were extremely dry. The mac and cheese that came with my side dish was bland(not sure what kind of cheese they used but it was dry too) and so were the mashed potatoes and the asparagus. The bf got the rotisserie chicken and I honestly don’t know how it was so dry. We never had dry rotisserie chicken before. how is that even possible? I would think its almost impossible to mess up rotisserie chicken unless it’s been sitting out for a while. I got the Crispy Chicken with Lemon Caper Sauce entrée. The chicken was so fried to the point where the chicken wasn’t even juicy anymore — really overcooked and I wasn’t a fan of the sauce either, it just didn’t go well together. Service was not that good and it took forever to get our check. I’m just going to go to Fuddruckers next time. Totally different type of food I know but at least the food is good and way cheaper.

This place was unexpectedly pleasant surprise. It’s next to Days Inn so I was a bit nervous when I arrived because the ambiance was almost like Diner(or Denny’s)… Our server seemed to be fairly new but she was very attentive. — Complimentary house-made potato chips were great! — Beer was cheap: Domestic(except for sam adams) on tap were around $ 4. — Shrimp and Clam were freshly steamed in white wine broth. Very refreshing. — My colleague liked his salmon dish — Chicken/avocado sandwich was huge and well worth $ 10 Overall the food was excellent and came in huge portion. Not a fancy business dinner place but you can have great food at very reasonable price.
