Assurance Wireless(supposedly affiliated with Virgin Mobile) is sending me junk snail mail, and refuses to remove me from their promotional mailing list using only my name and address. They insist on having my phone number too. I don’t know how in blazes they got my address and frankly doubt they even have my phone number. By deliberately producing trash to fill my mailbox and ultimately the landfill, they are being poor stewards of their own and the earth’s resources. I sent an email to OurTeamAssuranceWireless… stating that I am the current resident at my address and I would like to be removed from Assurance Wireless’s promotional mailing list. They replied stating that it would be their«pleasure to help resolve this situation», but I would need to reply to the email and provide them with my first and last names. The email said, «Once we have the mentioned details, we will proceed immediately on taking care of your request.» I then replied with the name that was on the advertisement mailed to my address. They then responded, «In this case we will need you to please reply to this e-mail with a contact number either wireless or house phone number. Once we have this information we will escalate this issue to a higher department so they can stop sending these letters to you. Remember that this information is requested for security information so we can verify everything.» The reply emails were coming from Virgin Mobile USA. I’m not entirely certain there is any legitimacy to their website or company. Their website is … Their address on the website claims to be Assurance Wireless P.O. Box 686 Parsippany, NJ7054. Their phone number claims to be 1−888−898−4888 and 1−888−321−5880. I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau saying that I expect my request to be removed from their list to be honored. I should hear back within 14 days.
