Hair Junkyz

I have been coming to Hair Junkyz for close to ten years. I love it so much that I actually travel 35 – 40 minutes across town to get here (I’m in West Denver). This is a family salon! It’s pretty obvious that Kelly’s employees really are loyal to her… and it comes across in their professionalism and services! I also love that at least once a year they attend Redken professional development in NYC. It makes me happy that all the stylists remain on top of their game and know the latest and greatest in hair. Hair Junkyz has been around for a long time and there’s definitely a reason for it. As long as I am a resident of Denver, I will never go any where but this salon!

Was recommended to this salon by a good friend, and used it for our 2 year-​olds first hair cut. Made an appointment with Christi, and she was amazing!
Went back this afternoon to get a cut myself. Made an appointment over the phone. The salon is very lively, lots of staff, limited seating, but if you have an appointment wait times are very minimal.
Excellent service, fun atmosphere, will definitely be back with the family!

I’ve been coming here for about 2 years. Have gotten hair cuts from a few of their stylists, but have eventually stuck with Sammii as my go-​to stylist. She is very professional, and exceptionally fast, without hurting the look of my haircut.
I always have a pleasant experience with Sammii, and always enjoy the chit-​chats. A few times in the past, I had to get a cut with Todd due to Sammii not being available. Todd is also very good, and very entertaining.
So far, this is my go-​to salon for haircuts. I’ve never had a bad experience, and the price is very accommodating.

Sammi did a great job with my hair and repaired a lot of challenges from two previous places that didn’t quite get it right. The price was reasonable and discussed up-​front, which I appreciated, because I have a lot of hair and have had some unpleasant surprises with other salons.
Not sure why other reviewers are saying that they felt it was unprofessional or chaotic, as I’ve never seen that. I have several friends/​family members who also go to Hair Junkyz and no one has ever had a problem. It is informal, and a little loud due to the salon having a concrete floor and a high ceiling, but that’s not a reflection on the staff or the service. (I’m only mentioning it because if you’re looking for a spa-​type relaxing experience in a quiet place, this might not be the place for you).
That said, if you want a great color/​cut from a well-​trained stylist who keeps up their professional education, this place is definitely worth a try.
Update: Sammi was out of town recently for a few days, so I had Todd do my cut and color. He did a great job as well, and was friendly and fun while he was doing it. I highly recommend him also.

Just tried this place for the first time I would highly recommend it I had several shades of blonde and brown in my hair. Stephanie made my hair so beautiful this place will definitely be my go-​to place for color!!!

This place could not have been more unprofessional. I visited the salon in September 2013 for a haircut. The cut was nothing special and in line with Super Cuts or Cost Cutters.
My stylist used foul language constantly throughout my haircut and also felt it necessary to let me know at what age both her and her daughter lost their virginity.
No I would never recommend this salon.

I’ve been going to Hair Junkyz for more than 12 years and I love it there. Just about most of the staff has done my hair and I love them all. The last couple years Cassie has been doing my hair and she’s great. She always makes my hair look fabulous and makes me feel good about myself too. So if your in the neighborhood and need to get your hair done, this is definetly the place to go !

Patsy at Hair Junkyz is great. Been going to her for a long time and I always leave feeling great about my hair. I love this place and highly recommend it!

The price for a trim is decent and I feel like I got what I paid for, I just didn’t like the atmosphere. A little unprofessional and chaotic.

After several years with the same stylist, due to her moving out of state, I had to find a new one. By reading reviews and checking prices, I chose Hair Junkyz and was assigned, Sammii. Sammii was fantastic. She started by asking me about the products I use and the time I take to do my hair each day. I am a «wash and wear» type of person. Sammii made some suggestions in line with the picture I had taken with me. I decided to get it colored with some highlights. The cut was the absolute best cut I have ever had. The color was stylish and very professional. I had many, many compliments. The best thing was that my husband said it was the best cut ever because I could replicate it every day since the first day. I had never been able to have my style look as good as the day I left the salon. It has been the easiest hair style to keep and the color blended so very well as time went on. I have definitely found my salon and especially my stylist. Sammii is just amazing. She is young and I am not so very young. But she listened to me, provided some excellent ideas, and gave me the best cut ever.

I have been going to Hair Junkyz for 10 years. Joanne King (Joannescissorhands) is MY girl. I wear my hair short and have a penchant for changing color fairly frequently. Joanne always does a great job.
Kelly is the owner of the salon and runs a tight ship. All of the women working there are fun and do a wonderful job.
They take walk-​ins too!
