Been coming to Echo annually for over 25+ years, this is one of my favorite summer vacation spots. Pros: Best scenic location on the river, they have a small market onsite to buy groceries, ice, and beverages, they have an indoor bar(Club Paradise) open on the weekends with outdoor swimming pools that are great for kids, and they have waterfront spots with electricity, cable TV, and sewage hookups and you can anchor your boat right in front of your spot, also trailers are available to rent if you don’t have one. Cons: Price is more expensive than other campgrounds, it’s also popular so It can get really packed on weekends, especially holiday weekends, cell phone reception is scarce, there is no public wifi access, and the showers/restrooms are probably the biggest drawback to Echo. The bathrooms are not air conditioned so during the summer it’s like you’re using the restroom in a sauna with flies, and while functional they aren’t the cleanest facilities. My recommendation is to avoid the public shower/restroom and use your camper/trailer instead and you’ll have a great time. If I could change anything about Echo I would tear the bathrooms and showers down and completely redesign them to be air conditioned with modern equipment and style.(solar cells on the roof could help offset the air conditioning costs). I would make sure they are cleaned multiple times a day and I would also offer wifi access for free to guests or as an extra minimal fee. Those two changes alone would make Echo Lodge Resort perfect and five stars.

Came in to check in. Didn’t take my ID to check in. Asked for a cabana, didn’t get one. Was suppose to get lot 116, didn’t get it. Trailer was somewhat clean but the whole place smelled like poo. Be prepared to bring your own sheets, towels, and TP. Yeah, no sheets, only plastic covers on the mattress, which would be fine except the plastic was still dirty. Oh and nobody showed us how to turn everything on, luckily were a little more mechanically inclined than most people but it’s the matter of fact that nobody made sure we were ok.

We have stayed here a couple times now and use their storage yard as well. Management is friendly. Sites are very nice as well. Activities for the kids at the splash pools, plus a bar for the adults with food. Beach is nice as well for those on beach front sites. Only thing I would say could be improved would be the launch ramp. Other than that it is a fantastic place to be.

Our first time here. This is really probably a 3 ½ but because of the location I bumped it up. We rented a park owned travel trailer which was decent but if we were staying in our own trailer it would have been much more comfortable. It is nice to be able to go and sleep in something other than a tent and the ac worked great! Just bring a pad or air mattress to sleep on if you don’t like a hard bed. The bathroom and showers were clean enough. It was a typical campground shower. The pool area looked nice but since we were camped at the river front location we spent our time there. It was nice to be able to launch the boat once and have access to it easily from our campsite. The stores prices were not bad for the location and they carried a little bit of everything. It was a beautiful area.

This is the first time staying here. We rented a travel trailer right on the water. We could walk from the trailer to our boat that was in the water, really great. They have full hookups if you want to bring your own rv. The only downfall about the trailer is the bed is not comfortable at all. Bring something to lay on the mattress so soften it. Have a great time.

1st time visiting, it was a pleasure staying my three children enjoyed themselves. River, swimming pool, doggie park area, play ground. The website doesn’t provide the beauty this place has. There is much more pictures to show how nice this place is to stay. We will be back stood Friday to Monday on fourth of July weekend.

My family has come here 6 times over the last 20 years. 5 of the trips I was just a kid. This last trip July 23 – 27, 2014 was my first time going as an adult and a parent myself. As a kid, it was great because the kids are just there to have fun. As an adult? I’m not going back ever again. The whole place needs some TLC so bad. Nothing has changed in 20 years and things are falling apart. Between myself and the rest of my extended family, we rented 3 of their Salem RV trailers and ALL3 were SOSOSODISGUSTING. They haven’t been cleaned in years. Broken mirrors, wallpaper peeling off the walls, missing curtains, lights burnt out, bent/broken blinds, microwaves falling out of the kitchen unit, sand/dirt incrusted into every crevice of the entire RV, the bed feels like you’re laying on springs, there were long strands of tangled up hair balls stuck to the material of the couch cushions, the bathtub/shower are stained a nasty brown/orange color from the well water used there, all 3 smelled like a porta-potty and the minute you used the water in the RV, you would get this overwhelming smell of rotten eggs + butthole.(Sorry to be gross… but there’s just no other way to describe it. It was GROSS) The common bathroom/shower building is nasty as well. Dead bugs are everywhere, soap dispenser was never filled and it looked/smelled like it hadn’t been cleaned in months… or ever. Don’t misunderstand me… I know camping isn’t supposed to be a relaxing and a ‘clean’ vacation. It’s alot of work especially with kids. BUTSERIOUSLY… if I am going to rent an RV, I expect it to be clean, in working order and free of traces from the previous tenants. And it wasn’t. If you are coming to Echo Lodge, just bring your own RV and don’t use the public bathrooms… then you should be good.

Always have a great time. Restaurant and bathrooms could use some TLC.
