My dogs chose Dr Dimperio. She is kind and caring and will answer all of your questions patiently… and I am a nervous dog mommy. After Park Ridge Animal Hospital on Touhy changed ownership and became Touhy Animal Hospital I searched for a new vet. First I tried TLC and tried to overlook the pee stains, the owners dogs catching and eating my dogs toenails as the vet clipped them!!! The last straw was when my young Jack Russell needed his anal glands expressed and the tech came in to do it. On her FOURTH!!! attempt he whimpered once and she loudly yelled«Bad dog! You’re a bad dog!» l finally came to my senses and asked for the vet. By then my dogs were both freaking out from the techs bad behavior. Both dogs are rescues from very bad circumstances. I was going to leave, but Dr Monica came in and saved the day. I like Dr Susan, too, but clean the place up, buy new dog toys for the waiting room and maybe watch your dogs more closely. Dog lovers like me don’t want to say anything, but it scares some of the dogs to have big dogs being a little too playful and/or walking in on them while being examined.(Hey, some things are private… lol). Anyway, then I tried Risers on Touhy in Skokie and saw a different vet every time. The parking lot is scary and dangerous. Finally I looked for Dr Dimperio, who I first met at Touhy Animal Hospital and remembered fondly. I found out she had her own place… Park Ridge Animal Hospital on Buses Hwy. if there would be a downside, it would be the waiting time. But that means she gives everyone the time they need with her. Best of all, my dogs are as comfortable around her as possible. She is gentle, compassionate and knowledgeable.
