This place is a hidden gem. We normally take our food to go and not only is the food delicious but it’s nice and pipping hot. Everything from the egg rolls, and pot stickers to the Kung Pai Chicken and almond cookies(my fav) are fresh and tasty. My 4 year old who still happens to be a picky eater loves the chicken strips and CFR!

Best Chinese Food Around. Love the dinner specials; portions are huge so definitely enough for the next day. And the prices are great. Nice eat in atmosphere and take out is also available.

Stopped in today to get an eggroll and to try their smoothies. Got a strawberry one. Very good! Cheaper(2.95 for a large) and bigger than Mariano’s. Much better too! Eggroll WAS very tasty, as said in the other review. The only thing I REALLY noticed upfront when I walked in was the FUNKYSMELLINTHERE! Smelled like a dead pig! Peutrid! Not the cleanest place: haven’t been there in a few years. Atmosphere is still the same. Just get rid of that damn puky smell!

This place is excellent. Great chicken chop suey. Egg rolls also very good. Only bad thing no delivery. You can tell it’s good by how many people are picking up food. Small BYOB restaurant to get table service as well.

I’ve tried a number of Chinese restaurants in the Park Ridge area, and while they have been OK, the food just seems to lack seasoning. After reading some Unilocal reviews, I tried Canton Tea Garden and it is a terrific find. The food is really tasty and prices are right(cheap in fact). So far I have only used the take out service, and it is really fast even if you do not call ahead. The dinner specials provide more than one meal — generous servings, with fried rice, and egg roll and two small chicken nuggets. Street parking nearby is readily available.

Best Chinese within a 10 mile radius in my opinion. The Lunch and Dinner Specials are really cheap, tasty, and plentiful. My favorite is the Mongolian Beef Dinner Special. It comes with the beef, enormous amount of pork fired rice, 2 homemade chicken nuggets, 1 great egg roll, and your choice of soup(hot and sour, egg drop, and wonton). Don’t be discouraged by the negative and unsurprisingly lengthy reviews and go try it, it is worth a shot.

No more slamming plates, yeah! That guy has been gone for over a year now. Staff is always helpful and smiling. still some slight communication fails. But the value and price will keep me coming back. Thanks for all the great meals Canton! See you Wednesday for lunch.

Pretty solid Chinese food and a random find. I was on my way back from O’Hare and craving some Chinese and found this place on Unilocal. The ambiance is pretty clean and welcoming and there were plenty of tables to dine in. The menu was extensive and they offer a wide variety of cantonese and mandarin dishes. The hot & sour soup was excellent — not your usual takee outee soy sauce heavy hot & sour soup but more authentic with a sweeter flavor. I highly recommend it and the small bowl was a very healthy serving. I was torn between trying the chop suey or the subgum, but in the end decided to go with my old standard, Hunan Chicken. The serving was plentiful and I had more than enough left over for dinner that night. Healthy and fresh tasting chicken with fresh veggies of broccoli stalks, carrots, shitake mushrooms and a flavorful sauce. There was definitely some oil but not extra greasy and certainly not the most oily chinese food I’ve had. Service was friendly and tea is complimentary. I will definitely keep this on my radar whenever I’m passing that area and have a hankering for Chinese.

Gosh. This place had a whole half star better rating than most others in the area. It is very difficult to find a good Chinese restaurant these days. Ordered hot and sour soup and egg foo young. First spoon of the hot and sour soup was surprising, because it was so sweet. Never had sweet hot and sour soup before… As for egg foo young… It was ok. The fried rice was on the ok side, but the oil they used didn’t taste like vegetable based oil(maybe pork or fats from other meats). Didn’t finish the food, because I was feeling sick. One of the worst Chinese I’ve ever had, but certainly, for Chicago area, not the first. I really miss the old Chinese restaurants that had great food, healthfully prepared… This was back when I was 10 years old in the 80’s-90’s.

In order of fav to least fav of items we purchased 1. Egg roll 2. Potstickers 3. 3. General Tso Chicken 4. Mongolian Beef 5. Fried rice(we had chicken) 6. Honey walnut shrimp 7. Crab Rangoon 8. Egg drop soup. The egg roll was definitely the most memorable. No one could eat the soup(it was pretty bad). The general tso could’ve been spicier, the beef wasn’t meaty enough(kind of melted in my mouth which was weird). Still on the hunt to replace my favs which have closed down(Lin’s Garden and Kow Kow).

I was a little unsure when I entered into this place due to it being pretty low key, not very well decorated since I have been to many«greasy spoon» Chinese places where I got sick. I was wrong Sure, the place is a little odd looking, but I had some of the best Chinese food that I have ever eaten. Everything was really on point tonight and everybody in my party(five adults) agreed that this is some of the best Chinese. Most of us decided to go with the dinner special. I highly recommend doing this because you get a soup, eggroll, chicken nugget, pork fried rice, and a main entrée. I thought, wow, this is a lot of food, I guess there would be smaller portions. WRONG! It was a ridiculous amount of food and it was ridiculously good food here is what I had: Hot and Sour Soup: I can usually tell a place has good food based on their soup. It was one of the best I have ever had even though it was a little on the sweeter side. Not that its a negative, but a little different. Eggroll: There is nothing I hate more than a soggy eggroll. This was a super crispy roll and the filling was tasty. Chicken Nugget: Not really needed, but it wasn’t bad. It was good, but not spectacular Pork Fried Rice: I got a heaping plate of this stuff. Very flavorful and it was a little on the drier side, but I liked that. Almost like a Chinese Risotto. Mongolian Beef: Fantastic! The sauce was outstanding and the meat wasn’t overly soggy. Probably my second favorite Mongolian Beef in Chicagoland. The group also got potstickers which was super large, but had the perfect amount of crunch and meat. I will be back very soon! This was really really good and really really affordable! Impressive!

This review is based on 2 recent dining experiences here, dine in and take out. First of all, we haven’t been here for quite a few years because of really bad food. So what happened? The food is actually real good. During my dine in experience I had the cashew chicken dinner which was very good. It came with pork fried rice, won ton soup, egg roll, and hot tea, all for under $ 10. Everyhing came out quickly and nice and hot. Today I deceided to try their takeout. The pork lo mein was probably the best I’ve had in a long time. The chicken fried rice and vegetable egg foo young were also very good and came very hot. I do hope that they keep up the good work in preparing such good chinese food. We now have our go to place for chinese food.

They are always very quick to make food. Usually ten to fifteen minutes or half hour when busy. Prices are decent. Crab Rangoon is my favorite here besides Venus in uptown. They have a sweet hot and sour soup worth trying. Their pot stickers are very good deep fried with a soft thick and tasty doughy shell. I have tried both the Mongolian beef and general tsao and would recommend both. My favorite dish is the honey walnut shrimp. It is not on the menu at least not online. So good. I would rate Park Ridge Chinese in this order. 1. Venus 2. Canton tea garden and 3. China house now called Jade

I’ve been getting food here since I was a kid and it is by far the best Chinese food I’ve ever had. I will make special trips out of my way to pick up from here every once in awhile still!

As long as you’re not looking for a fancy, decorated, well-appointed environment, this is a very casual place with potstickers and lo mein that are reminiscent of homemade, authentic Chinese comfort food. My family finds the dishes here very good and reasonably priced. We don’t have to drive all the way to Chinatown to get our Chinese food fix. Our kids also enjoy dining here. Our favorite dishes: Wonton Soup, Potstickers, BBQ pork lo mein, Mongolian beef, Chicken(or beef) and Broccoli, House Egg Foo Young.(Note: the wonton soup is loaded with wontons when you dine-in. Take out isn’t as full.)

I’ve been here a few times. The food is hot and fresh(seems fresh, anyway) which you won’t get with a lot of Chinese restaurants. It also stands out in the way it’s a great place to sit down and eat, another rare thing with the majority of American Chinese restaurants. My main problem: they are INCREDIBLY shady about a few of their practices(one in particular) and the service isn’t usually that great. As with a lot of Chinese restaurants, when you order to dine in, they give you a TON of food. This is great if you’re really hungry and can eat a lot. Given the prices(which I guess are reasonable) you’ll want to take it home. Try a little experiment. Ask for boxes to pack up your own food. The waiter(or someone) will go to take your plate and take it back to the kitchen. STOP them, repeat yourself, and be insistent that you pack your OWN food. Every single time I have asked to pack my own food, they take it to the kitchen and return about half of the food that I had left. This is stealing. I don’t know what they do with the rest of the food, but it is like something either unsanitary or downright wasteful. Either way, it is STEALING, and I will never waste another dollar here, unless it’s to make a scene in their restaurant.

The kung poa was meh. It had more spice than other local areas but it had a weird cinnamon after flavor. The chicken lo mein was really good! I didn’t want to share it when I got home. The waiting area for to go is kinda sad but the lo mein made it worth it.

As I said before, the best hot and sour soup in Park Ridge! This place has a great dinner special starting at 3pm till 9. You get soup, an eggroll, two pieces of chicken nuggets, a pile of the best pork fried rice ever and your choice of entrée. Lately I’ve been going for the sweet and sour chicken. It is to die for. Their fruit smoothies are so good to. I recently had the mango smoothie. It was so delicious with chunks of mango right in it. I highly recommend The Canton Tea Garden. If you’re looking for a great Chinese place, this is where it’s at!
