My 5 and 6 year olds love this trail. We have gotten very close to dear here, which is a special treat for my kids. Since there are 2 trails, we can mix and match depending on our mood to see different parts. Note that they are doing renovations to sections over the next few years, and parts may be closed.

Thorn Creek Nature Center & Nature Preserve is a stunning woodland featuring 3−½ miles of trails, floodplain forest, scenic ravines and pine plantations. Bring your camera! The Center features programs which require registration unless otherwise noted.
Hours: (Nature Center) Friday-​Sunday, 12 noon to 4 p.m.; the trails are open daily year-​round, from dawn to dusk.
(2011) Closed on Labor Day weekend, Thanksgiving weekend, Christmas weekend, and New Years’ weekend.
