I’m sure it’s great, but no reservations and sub par service makes it less than desirable! Went there three times over three nights at 6pm and service and wait was pathetic! Either plan ahead of find another great spot in salt lake.

I hate to be a buzz kill. Especially when it comes to distilleries. But this place just sucked. I’m just going to come right out and say that I’m breaking a HUGE rule of mine and reviewing a place without having actually been a customer. BIGEPICHUGENO-NO(most of the time). I’m making an exception now because of a series of events that happened over the course of three nights. All related to customer service. All disappointing. Night one: we call and discover that they don’t take reservations but that«if we show up early we might get a table». That’s fine. What are our chances of getting a table for nine? «Um…I don’t know. Probably not good as of now». Um. Okay. Night two: we show up at six only to be told that a private party has booked half the place and that there is no chance we’re getting a table. But actually if you come back in an hour you might get a table. Might. I don’t know. Come back tomorrow at five and you’re pretty much guaranteed to get a table. Sorry bro. Um. Okaaaaay. Night three: we show up at 4:30 after cutting our ski day short so we could get there early enough and are told that a private party has booked half the restaurant AGAIN! And that we won’t get a table until maybe 8-ish or 9-ish. «I don’t know, sorry bro». Half our party was allowed in for drinks… the other half, when we arrived to meet with our group, was told to wait in the giant line. The giant«whiskey groupie» line that was just a huge insult to everyone standing in it. Especially since the host was quoting a 4-hour wait time. What. The actual. Fuck. I have never heard of such preposterous business practices. It’s not a club. It’s a restaurant. And hey, even clubs take reservations. Especially if a large party has booked most of the place. That way, at least the hosts have some sort of REAL answer they can give people when they call about availability. This whole«um I dunno. Show up early and then maybe come back in an hour; or actually maybe come back tomorrow… even though there’s another private party(but I won’t mention that right now)» bullpucky is just bad form. Be straight with me. Tell me it’s a waste of my time trying to get in. Don’t tell me to come back in an hour just so you can tell me to come back in another hour. We put a LOT of effort trying to get in here. Which made getting the ring-around THAT much more disappointing.

We had party of 3 wanting to have a quick lunch because none of us was very hungry. We decided to share a few appetizers(see pic). I think everything tasted pretty good especially the Brussels sprouts and the ribs(a bit spicy though). My husband really enjoyed the deviled eggs, but found the ribs and Brussels sprouts too salty. Interesting atmosphere but a bit crowded. Can’t comment on the drinks though since none of us drinks.

Not worth the unprofessional and rude behavior of the bouncer. My group of 6 people tried to visit this bar on a recent Saturday night. They were full, so the bouncer told us to wait until the hostess gave the go ahead to let more people in. We waited for 10 minutes in the cold, during which another group of 5 women joined the line behind us. When the hostess finally gave the go ahead, the bouncer let this other group go in before us. When I reminded him that we were there first he said, «I don’t remember that.» We left.

Have you ever watched that show with Robin Leech with the«Lifestyles of The Rich and Famous?» Well I did, reruns anyhow. It used to come on when I couldn’t sleep late at night, like those infomercials that make you want to by «stuff» that you don’t need. Stuff like remember«Thigh Master» from Suzanne Somers? You do know that Amazon is selling it right? And Ms. Somers has it in her website for only $ 29.99 to this very day! I kid you not! Check it out and you will also see, Ms. Somers is like Dorian Gray, ageless. By the way, my Mom swore by it! She used it while watching Jay Leno till it fell apart! High West is a very chic place. It looked liked where all the rich and famous residents of Park City and«beyond»(tourists) hangout, with a twist of lodge and rustic ambiance. But, you don’t have to be rich to dine here. You just have to have a zest of life and enjoy the moment! In fact, we even saw Mr. Harvey Weinstein right next to our table. It was the highlight of our evening! High West has some really good Whiskey. Though I am not a whiskey drinker, I did managed to taste my buddies sample. It tasted really good, and with the spicy«kick» to it, I could see myself eventually getting hooked. By the way, you can buy a nice bottle on the way out. Their store is right next door from their restaurant. They are famous for their bourbon whiskey! Now for dinner, I ordered their famous chicken pot pie. I was told it was their specialty and it did not disappoint. The chicken was nice and moist and flavorful. Love the crust topping which you can pull out like a pancake. For dessert, I had their delicious chocolate mouse whiskey. I never had one before and it was really, really good! I’d definitely come back here again when I am in Park City. I would highly recommend getting a reservation as they get packed almost every night of the week especially during their peak winter season! Until then, be kind to one another and Cheers! ~ :p

My SO and I were really excited to try this popular restaurant on Valentine’s Day. We started with a glass of the bourye whiskey and the dead man’s boots cocktail — both which were quite good — we were happy with our drink orders. For starters — the onion and bourbon soup was one of the best onion soups we have ever had, with the right amount of gruyère cheese and delicious soup flavor. I was hoping that the pretzel was more of a «soft pretzel.» It was quite stale, dry, and overly salty. For dinner — we shared the chicken schnitzel. I wasn’t a huge fan of the caper butter sauce or the citrus vinaigrette, both which I found to be too acidic. The dessert however — the grillswith — was delicious. The only downside — SMALL portion size. Would have been great had there been two krispy kreme donuts instead of just one, especially for that price tag. Not sure what to say regarding the service. Our entrée was mistakenly served to the table beside us(seated much later), and when the waitress realized her mistake, cried«sh*t,» and disappeared. Another waiter arrived with the correct order for the table beside us unknowingly, and my SO was able to redirect the appropriate orders/entrees. Although I appreciate quick service, the service was a bit rushed — we received our dessert, which contained ice cream, before we even finished our entrée. Also never received the bread/biscuit basket that is supposed to come with the meal. Didn’t notice until the end of the meal when every table except ours had one. Overall, the restaurant fell short of our expectations. Satisfactory at best for our Valentine’s Day celebration in Park City, Utah.

Great bar food, decent drinks. For a Whiskey Distillery I was expecting they would have some creative concoctions but all their drinks were rather normal using their own whiskeys. Rather surprising they had all types of other bourbons to try. If you buy one drink, get the A Mid Winter Night’s Dram, by far their best whisky.

I love coming to High West. Hand-crafted cocktails with house-made ingredients don’t get any better. Awesome staff who give the drinks the finesse they deserve. My favorite house cocktail would have to be Dead Man’s Boots — who knew that tequila and whiskey paired so well! Word to the wise, if you plan on visiting during the winter on the weekend, holidays, or Sundance you’d best have reservations or be prepared to wait.

Love this place! Been coming here for years and always have to stop by when in town! The whiskey is amazing and they have great food to compliment it! Such a cool atmosphere too!

Let’s start with, this place is amazing! Hands down the best food in Park City and the whiskeys are amazing to boot. If you’re looking for a solid apres session, this is your jam too. It’s steps away from the town lift, lively and always packed! Last week I was in Park City for 5 days and ended up coming here twice as it was that good. Let’s note that I’m a huge fan of their whiskeys to begin with, so I was already in heaven. Plus, I’ve been here a few times before and always left a happy camper. Let’s start with the whiskey. I did the standard flight and tacked on a few others as I wanted to try their limited releases. All of them were amazing but, my favorites were the Yippe Ki Yay, BouRye and Midwinter Nights Dram. What I didn’t realize was that they distill and age their own whiskeys and ryes then purchase amazing whiskeys from Kentucky to finish their blends. Really smart. As far as the food goes, I had the following… Bourbon Onion Soup — 5 stars and hit the spot after a day on the Park City slopes. Seriously amazing. Chicken Schnitzel — Awesome. The side kale salad was a perfect acid accompaniment. One of the more popular items on the menu. Cheese Board — Um, wow. Didn’t think I was going to find amazing blue cheese at a distillery. Get this! Well done High West! You have a lifetime fan.

Let me start by admitting I love whisky. I am a big fan of the Double Rye and Campfire, so I ordered the 4 whisky sample. All 4 whiskeys were very tasty. Steve, the bartender, was engaging and adept at handling everybody’s orders. The bar area lent itself to meeting new folks and enjoying the conversations. The Park Ave location allows you to ski down and walk over. I didn’t order food, but those around me who did were visibly enjoying it. I also didn’t get a chance to try Steve’s hand at a Manhattan. I’ll be back to rectify this.

Our first dinner while visiting Park City was at High West and they did not disappoint! We showed up at 7pm on the Wednesday evening before Sundance and only had a 25-minute wait for a table for 2. A few larger parties came in and were actually seated before us so, in general, there was not much of a wait at this time even though the restaurant appeared to be full and busy. We weren’t particularly starving so decided to share a couple of items: –bacon jalapeño mac and cheese: so good, so rich, so heavy. This is technically a side, but it’s a decent portion and more than enough for 2 people to share. You could even pair it up with a smaller plate as an entrée. –parmesan fries: these were just ok. They did have quite A LOT of parmesan cheese on them and I think that’s what turned me off a little bit. –chicken schnitzel: loved this. Very light, but filling. The breading was great. It wasn’t too greasy or overly fried. The kale with citrus vinaigrette that comes with the chicken is a perfect accompaniment. The restaurant was also nice enough to automatically plate our halves separately. They also provide a bread basket that include delicious mini cheese biscuits. Thinking about them now, I could eat a dozen myself! We were seated in a smaller room upstairs in the«house» portion of the restaurant. It was cozy and only had a handful of tables. This was only slightly awkward at times when things got quiet at every table because, again, it’s about the size of a bedroom. Service was friendly. Easily parked just a half block away in an underground parking garage.

I finished skiing at around 3. Opened Unilocal and saw the score. Walked the ½ block from the lift and were immediately seated in a nook in the saloon at a tall top table. Our server, a Brit named Steve, was helpful, professional and efficient. I had two different craft cocktails. Both were very good. And I had the bison burger which not because of its patty(which was not terribly impressive) but because of the total playing with roll, good cheddar, an onion ring, homemade pickles slices plus a big bucket of greaseless homemade fries was superb. A great post ski caloric splurge.

WHISKEYWHISKEYWHISKEY! Their house whiskey selection is awesome, and a must-try. The sampler is a lot of fun. All of them are excellent, and they have such a wide variety in flavor profiles available. Food was really good too. The wings were unique and tasty. The bartender was very knowledgeable about whiskey, and very friendly.

Love be the old saloon look of the restaurant. A must try: the bourbon French onion! Best soup I’ve ever tried. The Jalapeño Mac and cheese is also a must try. It’s a side dish but enough to fill you as a small meal. Husband had the short rib sandwich, he enjoyed it, the bread was a bit soggy but it was seasoned nicely. Service was a bit slow… Okay very slow(waited over an hour for food to arrive) The manager did take care of us after the fact. So, If you’re in a rush, this is not a good place for you.

Took my family here for lunch and we all left full and really happy with the food. Between us, we tried the chicken schnitzel, the 10oz sirloin special, the bison burger, mac and cheese, brussels sprouts, baked beans, and the butternut squash soup. Everything was amazing, we were sorry we didn’t leave room for dessert! The stand outs were the chicken schnitzel with a lemon sauce that completed the dish making it perfect. The bison burger was seasoned well and cooked exactly as ordered — medium! And the mac and cheese had the right amount of kick with out being too spicy. I had the leftover baked beans with eggs the next morning and they were still wonderful. We tried a couple of the cocktails, but none of us are really drinkers so I don’t feel confident in reviewing them. Service was so friendly, and very fast. It was a little pricey but so worth it!

Out of towner always want to go to High West because they love the Whiskey and drink it in their home town. They want to see the place where their favorite whiskey is made. I’m particularly fond of the appetizers and the High West Lemonade. The chicken schnitzel and pretzel appetizers are both very well done. Try the deviled eggs, chicken pot pie and save room for something sweet at the end. Unless you end up drinking all your calories in delicious whiskey or vodka concoctions.

I loved this place. The drinks were great and so was the food. They had a $ 5 cocktail special with whiskey, but they also had other drink options for people who are not that into it. We got the pretzel appetizer and it was good except it came with three dips and the pretzel wasn’t very big, so we had to order an extra one. I also got the bison burger and it was great. We had a group of 7 people and they were able to accommodate us by adding more chairs to a round table. We only had to wait about 10mins to get seated and once we order the food was ready in a few minutes.

This place is BUSY. We came here over Thanksgiving weekend on friday and it was completely mobbed with people! We had a few wines and whiskies and then headed out. Food looked great, and would love to return to try it one day.
