I have been visiting Spatolas in Paoli a minimum of 3 times a week for 2 ½ years now. As a commuter to Paoli, this shop has become my go to spot and the best pizza I have had on the mainline. I love that they have pizza by the slice and that they switch up those pies daily to allow you to have different choices. They are known in the area for their delicious Trenton pizza but my favorite is always the #7(white pizza with fresh spinach, broccoli, tomatoes, & ricotta). Their salads are large with garlic knots on the side(yum!). Friday nights are busy so order early! Always worth the wait. The ingredients are fresh and the staff is nothing but friendly. Massimo and Billy are very polite and welcoming, always trying to get to know their customers. Stopping into Spatolas is like stopping in to visit family.

SPATolas… Worked here for a few months, quite because of sexual harassment. Massimo was a good boss and makes great food. But his staff is terribly unhygienic. One of the cooks was fixing a toilet and went right back to cooking… never ate anything that wasn’t made by massimo himself.

Seriously. Don’t bother. Neither with pick up nor with delivery. The food is generally ok. The execution is horrible. You’ve been warned. Don’t bother complaining. You won’t get far. «Billy’» is the manager and owners live FL according to Billy. Asked for last name, but Billy said he didn’t need to provide that and hung up on me. lol! As stated, you’ve been warned! Lol. But it’s only pizza after all so whatevs.

The Trenton Pie is special. It’s easily the best pizza in the area. Oddly I’ve never had their traditional pizza. Why order anything other than the Trenton?

Their pizza is really good, but their delivery time is awful. The latest time we were told 45 minutes, and we got our pizza 1 hour and 52 minutes later.

Decided to give another try despite the very long wait for delivery. I’m not going back. Ordered a Trenton style pizza. The menu description said fresh plum tomatoes. What you get is plum tomato sauce and a lot of it and very greasy. Not what I was expecting. The delivery guy was very nice which is the reason for the 2 stars. It also took over an hour for delivery when I live around the corner, but it was 6:30 on a Saturday.

I am a self proclaimed pizza snob and after trying a few places in the area, I found my spot! The pizza is delicious. We usually order bacon on ours and we’re always delighted to find huge strips of bacon(vs. tiny bits you might get elsewhere). The Trenton pie is also tasty. The Greek salad is yummy and we also love the chicken parm sandwich. We always have fast and reliable delivery service.

Cheese slides right off and is very greasy. Flavor is good but for whatever reason it doesn’t stay together. It’s much better the next day so order Thursday for Friday night pizza.

Crispy crust without any sag. Good sauce that’s savory not too sweet like most pizza places these days. Hands down the best pizza in Paoli.

Best Pizzeria in the area! We’ve tried pizza from tons of places and Spatola’s is hands down the best! They are the only ones to use high quality, fresh ingredients and it makes a huge difference! Everything is absolutely delicious… salads, strombolis, pizzas, everything!

Best pizza around no doubt. I think my girl likes the veggie pizza more than she likes me!

The first time I ordered from this place the lady said 40 minutes for delivery arrival. 2 hours later I still didnt have my food. When the delivery driver had the nerve to call me after waiting that long to tell me he couldnt find my address, I told him to go pound sand. The second time I ordered was less than a month ago. I received a pizza that was somewhat stale crusted. It tasted like the dough might have been made the day previous. I have eaten at other Spatola/Spizzico locations in the neighboring suburbs and the pizza was always half decent. I also ordered a Chicken Panini and it was completely inedible. The chicken was like biting into a hockey puck. Im lucky I didnt chip a tooth. I took it out and couldnt even pull it apart with brute hand strength. The arugula was rancid and sopping in liquid. I brought it up to an employee who acted as if he could care less. The super positive and descriptive reviews I suspect are false or written by people who have no idea what a good pie consists of. Never again Spatolas in Paoli.

Freaking amazing and fresh pizza! It’s Football Sunday and my friends and I were ready to order from Pizza Hut when we found out they couldn’t deliver until later in the day. Desperate for pizza, we decided to take a gamble on Spatola’s and boy are we glad we did! Thank you Pizza Hut, without you not being able to meet our needs we would have never found a pizza place that is far superior to you! Will absolutely come back again and again! Thank you Spatola’s! What a gem of a pizza place!

When are you going to tell the world that you are now open in Downingtown! Not that the world doesn’t know judging by the parking lot. Best, best pizza. The freshness, flavor and sauce a top ten and the nicest looking pizzeria around. From the outside you wouldn’t know it but very nice inside. Wish they delivered, outside of that cant think of anything I would change.

Always our first dial on pizza night. It’s like the boardwalk in your house! You can tell when top line and fresh ingredients are used. They take NO shortcuts.

Recently ordered a small Hawaiian pie to go. It was thin, crisp and loaded with toppings for only $ 10. Easily enough pizza for two or maybe one with a very big appetite! It was ready in 15 minutes and truly delicious — I have also had their spinach and ricotta pie — easily the best pizza in the area! I don’t live close anymore, but anytime I’m in the area I’ll stop in!

Love love love. Pizza is thin and crisp. Not too much sauce or cheese. The salads are great. All of them. And come with garlic knots. I love the hoagies. Best around.

The pizza here is certainly above average. I ordered the Trenton slice and the Buffalo Chicken slice — and it was very good. Crust was just a little crispy, the sauce was tasty but not overwhelming — the cheese on the Trenton slice was very good. As far as the location is concerned — it is a great place to hop in, grab a slice or a pie and go. There are only 6 bar stools to sit at if you want to eat-in, so that is a bit of a challenge. I’m not sure it rises to the«best pizza» anywhere — but I would definitely eat their pizza again.

The main line west of Philly has plenty of ordinary pizza, made of mass-sourced ingredients. After hearing good things about Spatola’s, I stopped in for 2 slices at lunch. It is a small space, just six stool seats along a window counter. But the pies were top flight. I was keen on the Trenton style(square pie, thin crust, plum tomatoes and standard mozz), so I ordered a slice and a more conventional NY slice, topped with sauce, regular mozz, diced tomato, and what looked like spots of bufalo mozza but may have been ricotta. Anyhow, both slices had a very thin crust that had a wonderful crispness, and was somehow sturdy enough to support a generous cheese and sauce topping. Now, every pizza tastes good, so I generally discriminate by texture. These had my ideal texture — no tip sag, no need to fold it to eat it. But more importantly, they had a savory balance of sauce, cheese, crust that made it the tastiest pizza in my memory. I expected to like the Trenton slice, and I loved it. I expected less of the NY slice, but it may have been even better. One other reviewer complained that it was greasy, and my NY slice was. But I don’t seek out pizza as diet food; the grease imparts flavor and I welcome it, whether it oozes from the cheese or is added olive oil. This was a great find and, near my office, a go-to pizza place. I did meet the owner and we chatted; he is from Sicily. I ordered a Trenton pie to go, and he was reluctant to fulfill my request for meat topping — «Why mess with perfection?» he asked. We spoke about balance and he understands that simple is often best(a lesson I learned in Rome, too). An easy, well-earned five stars.

This pizza shop is small and busy, located in a strip mall right in the middle of Paoli. They have all the standard stuff, including sandwiches and salads. I ordered two slices of pepperoni. They were large and well-priced. They were re-heated in the oven, so that was great. Unfortunately, the crust was a completely soggy mess, and it would have stuck to the paper plate, except that it was so greasy that the grease leaked through the bottom of the crust, through the paper plate, and through the paper bag all the way into my car seat. EWWWWWWWWW. I got out of the car with one slice and tried to eat it outdoors in the 35 degree weather. I had to fold it twice to get it to stop leaking. I bit into it. Pow, leaking oil all over the pavement, all over my fingers, and dripping down my wrist, threatening my shirtsleeve and coat. Quickly I reversed my hands to point downward. Whew. Close call. Taste? Well, wet, oily, greasy, salty. Nothing much else to say.
