I wish for a Home Cooked here in Chicago! I used to live on the East Coast and was a customer of Home Cooked… I so wish that I had access to their convenient and delicious meals here in Chicago! So much so that I had to go back and write a review…
My husband and I both work full-​time and we rarely are able to think about dinner before the dreaded 7 pm «what should we have for dinner?» conversation. Enter Home Cooked.
We were introduced to the idea through Claire, the owner, and it changed the way we ate throughout the week. Claire’s 2 – 3 person meals were the perfect size for our household and so easy! With Home Cooked, we were having gourmet meals a few times a week — and they are all truly delicious! My husband was questioning the «frozen» idea of it, but honestly the food is so fresh and delicious and certainly not anything we could have thought up ourselves — he was an instant convert.
Also, you couldn’t find a better owner than Claire. We love supporting small businesses and Claire treats everyone like a close, personal friend. She truly goes the extra mile to meet the needs of her customers whether it’s the hours she keeps or making specific meals/​food requests. She’s the type of person you WANT to support with your purchase.
We’d always say, «Let’s have one of Claire’s meals» and if you are in the greater Philly area — you should too!

Home Cooked has really delicious meal solutions for on-​the-​go families. I’m a single mom with two young daughters. Home cooked makes it possible for us to eat healthy foods and not just spaghetti every night. You order online, and pick up the meals fully assembled and ready to go into the freezer to save for later, or into the oven for dinner.
Also, the food is really good and varied — we eat things I would never have thought of for a weeknight dinner — it’s really nice to have the variety. Amazingly, my girls happily eat it, too! I never would have told you that chicken stuffed with bacon and goat cheese would be such a hit, but they have tried all sorts of things I never would have considered if it wasn’t for Home Cooked.
Claire is the owner — she’s so nice and accommodating. If you have any questions or requests, she really does bend over backwards to make it work for you.
UPDATE! I took my oldest daughter to HomeCooked for one of the kid camps on President’s Day. It was amazing! My very shy 6 year old was perfectly comfortable — I credit the great staff at HomeCooked. She was completely entertained, learned kitchen safety, built confidence in doing something new, and even came home with dinner, and 3 sweet treats for the family! She was so proud to help me put it in the oven and serve it. She has already asked me if she can go back to HomeCooked the next time she has a day off from school… Happy kid and dinner is done? Count me in!
