Drive thru is so convenient and offers speedy service. I will say, they didn’t have the donut I really wanted or the donut my boyfriend wanted, which was disappointing and this was at 10:00 am, PRIMETIME people, you should be fully stocked. However I’m not complaining because the chocolate glazed donuts, the giant kolaches and the coffee we got were superb! I love Shipley’s. Always fresh, and friendly service.

Not as good as the other location downtown. Today the original glazed were like sponge cakes. They perhaps were either not fried enough or were glazed after cold.

Not as great as the one on Abram in the downtown area. But a good place for donuts none the less.

I miss having good donuts and I love Shipley’s. From a donut holes to Kolaches, they have a great selection of tasty treats. Always worth making a run to for breakfast if you are close by. Personally I love the cinnamon twists and the cinnamon roll donuts. My wife gets the bavarian cream filled chocolate donuts and the chocolate cake ones. Soft, fresh and often warm when you get them.

Got two filled and a couple sausage and cheese. The donuts were way overfilled with jelly and I had to empty about half of it before I could really finish them, the dough seemed very soft or a tad undercooked. The sausage rolls were nothing special, I was disappointed for a long time donut shop I usually get way better quality at Tom thumb across the street for identical items.

Shipley’s for me is all about their spicy cheese Kolaches. I love them fresh, never day old, though they usually sell out daily. Spicy cheese kolaches? Think a fresh baked bun with a wiener inside, cheese and diced jalapenos. Ahh, it’s good stuff and its(right now) begging me to jump up and get one. Sadly, I’m writing this review in Chicago. =(and it’s too late, I’m pretty sure this location closes early daily. If it’s not available I will occasionally do the ham and cheese, though it’s not a favorite. Shipley’s does a lot of business on these, their donuts and coffee. I hardly ever order their donuts, almost every time I have, I get a sweet rush headache. For the area there are a few other donut shops but they offer nothing in comparison. Stand on the corner where the stoplight is on any morning and watch, a pileup begins of folks waiting to get something tasty here. Shipley’s is a chain that has been in business for over 75 years. Mainly operating out of the southern states. They call it their do-nut belt, most would consider it part of the bible belt. To this day I often meet other Texans that have heard of Shipley’s but never had a kolache. A typical kolache does not have meat in it, FYI. In the Dallas area however, one can find many bakeries offering the kolache with their own version with cheese and meat.

Seriously good — went to the shipley’s on Park Row this morning. They were hella crowded with a big line in the store and at the drive through. It was totally worth the wait though, the ham and cheese kolaches were really good and the donuts were divine. No one beats Shipley donuts, particularly when they are served warm!

These plain donuts do NOT leave a grease stain in the bag or box, and taste great. The Kolaches are more like a sandwich with a more bread-like dough. Good but not their best item by far. If you like your donuts with icing, or fillings, these folks have more options than you’ve ever seen anywhere. Wow!

I grew up on this Shipley’s location and their awesome donuts, so this review might be a bit biased. Went there this morning for some Saturday morning gut destruction and left only $ 3.25 lighter in the wallet. Got a spicy cheese kolache(decent), a strawberry iced donut(ok, I asked for a strawberry filled and she gave me a strawberry iced) and a dozen donut holes(brilliant). They are donuts. They are hard to mess up. If they are hot, they’re awesome. If they aren’t Krispy Kreme, they’re even better. Shipleys is money.
