Occam’s razor also Ockham’s razor n. [William of Occam](ca. 1837): a scientific and philosophic rule that entities should not be multiplied unnecessarily which is interpreted as requiring that the simplest form of competing theories be preferred to the more complex or that explanations of unknown phenomena be sought first in terms of known quantities. Because Krispy Kreme® doesn’t make plain donuts, and so very often, Ockham’s razor best satisfies, it tends toward the solution most amenable to the vexing contention of concurrent appetites. All I know is that I’m uncertain what’s the tastiest morcel from the pantry.

Staff here is the problem… coffee and donuts are as good as they ever are at Winchell’s. But the staff is not friendly or well trained, and has so many language barriers that basic communication is difficult. I ordered a large coffee and a single doughnut. My total was like $ 2 and some change. I gave the cashier a $ 5 and received $ 2 back… no coins. Trying to explain that I should actually be receiving some coins was met with a look of complete confusion. She just didn’t comprehend what I was saying. After trying in vain to communicate and explain, I finally gave up and left. Hell of a way to get a tip?

We came at 10 pm and there was a hispanic male about 60 working. I chose the donut i wanted(glazed with caramel drizzle) and paid 1.99 when usually they are a dollar. Fresh donuts are supposed to tear easily! This donut was so hard to rip. It was like chewing bad meat. Also. HETOUCHESTHEDONUTSWITHHISDIRTYHANDSINFRONTOFYOU. he touches his skin, money, the store, etc. Thats GROSS. This overpriced donut was THE worst donut I’ve ever had!!! And the guy said«thats how they are». Noooo sir.

I’ve been here atleast 5x’s! Sometimes the donuts are good and sometimes dryyy! But the main problem is that they taste like weed butter was baked into them, this has happened twice :/& I’ve had to throw them away. Service is alright, not good and not horrible either.

Used to go there every morning but stopped when i noticed that the worker with the mustache makes the donuts & does so without using gloves. This wouldnt normally bother me but it started too when he would occasionally wipe sweat from his forehead while making them.

Good donuts but a bit pricy. The woman working behind the counter had a bit of an attitude when I came in and a few customers even said something about it. Other than that the donuts are good even despite the price.

First of all, my first choice of donuts would be Krispy Kreme, then the Class Donuts on Riverside, then this Winchells. Winchell’s is just alright. I really go for their cheap large sodas. Pepsi is my other crack(besides Ebay). Every time I go to this place now, it is in the evening so I always get the same sweet older latino. Him and the asian woman in the mornings are the best. I have come here and they have been out of devil’s food with nuts and he’s gone out of his way to re-dip the donut in a little chocolate and rolled it in peanuts. SWEET! I mean really, what a very nice man. He also asks«Que quieres mija?» and it always just melts my little heart. If I ever come with cash I tip him. Tonight, he couldn’t tell if the blueberries on a muffin were blueberries or mini chocolate chips. He looked at me as if to try it. Hahaaa. I told him to try it himself and I wouldn’t mind. So he did and his smile just confirmed that they indeed were blueberries. So, the little man behind the counter, the cheap drinks, and them being open 24⁄7 keeps bringing me here. They have done a little redecorating over the years so it looks a bit better.

open 24⁄7 winchells provides any hungry beast conveniently above any average store bought donuts. their maple donut is by far my favorite bar.

This Winchells is half a block from my house. Standard fair but the crew is cool cuz I’m from the neighborhood so I had to post this up. The earlier you get there, the better the product. Don’t do donuts anymore but I stop by for an XL coffee a handful of times a week. They recently upgraded the interior with new tables and chairs…
