Duke’s Ace Hardware

cant beat the service and always have what you need.

I couldn’t believe my ears when I went into this Ace Hardware on Sunday… I had a few keys that i needed cut and the guy in there wouldn’t do it! Said it would damage his key cutter…
I went straight to the Ace Hardware on 147^th and Cicero and they guy in there GLADLY cut my keys for a dollar each! and GUESS WHAT?!? his key cutter is just fine
Terrible service… had me feeling like a fool
No body that I know even GOES to Ace Hardware except for such things as having a key made or other little machining tasks or hard to find items… (Menards and Home Depot have screws and hand tools as far as the eye can see) but if they are going to point me to the door for something as simple as cutting a KEY then I’m sorry but I have no use for you and i will actively tell people how terrible your service was and still is and would GLADLY direct them to the Ace on Cicero. Shame on you

Generally have a good selection of the hardware items I need.
Staff is very helpful. Rarely have I been in the store and not approached by someone who asked if they could help. I usually get someone that reminds me of my Grandpa helping me out. Very old school, but knowledgeable.

I had a different experience with this store. I received NO SERVICE!
I called the store in the afternoon asking if they could cut a car key for me with a chip in it. The person on the phone told me no problem as long as the key didn’t have to be cut in the middle which it didn’t. Ok so I go to the store and it’s another story. I talk to the high school kid behind the counter to see if he will cut the key and he says he has to ask his manager .the kid goes to ask the manager who can’t give the kid an answer because he is on the phone ordering paint. Kid comes back 10 minutes later and says he needs to go and ask the owner. Kid comes back and says the owner says no. Ok now I’ve been here for a while so I asked why not? I asked to see the owner. This is when the fun begins. The owner comes out with a very bad attitude … Telling me about how he’s not going to do it because I’m not buying his 80 dollar key. He needed to pay for this expensive machine bla bla bla very rude! Anyways I told him that one of his employees told me it was ok to just come up and they would do it. Then he says did you get a name??? Well I didn’t think I needed to in order to get a key cut for a car. That place is full of attitude and lack of service! Never again!!! Should have zero stars for the way I was treated !

Excellent customer service, I highly recommend. My recent grill purchase was fully assembled by their professional and caring staff. They even have delivery available for larger items, as I needed. I would suggest this store to anyone, very courteous and helpful staff. Now I just need my wife to buy me the New 14 inch Weber Smoker for my Birthday.

This store provides something you won’t find to often at a Menard’s, service! Went for some small parts for a home repair project, the employee actually went to the bin location and got me the parts, again something that is hard at the above mentioned store. Plus I has to return a few items that I made a mistake on, and the return process was a piece of cake. And they do glass and screen repairs. You may pay a little extra for items, but the service and expertize make up for it.
