Van Gogh Hair Salon

Can you give a place five stars because of the quality of the clientele? Seriously, I wasn’t sure who worked there and who was just there to chat and who was there for a haircut, but they were all so friendly that I’d pay for admission just to hang out.
And my hair! Wow. I’ve been looking for a new salon «home» for a few years and had some experiences that were so gruesome they bordered on macabre! But «never give up/​never surrender» so I kept trying. I had a great talk with the stylist (Sharon?) and then she went to work. She explained what she was doing each step of the way and why. She gave me a mini– course on maintenance. And the resulting color and cut was incredible! It was exactly what I wanted and it looks fantastic.
I had to stop on the way home and buy new make-​up. The stuff i had been using just didn’t seem gorgeous enough to go with the hair.

I always use this local salon while in town. In the past I’ve used it for weddings, showers, special events or just for a quick cut. I’ve always been happy with the results. This time I used them for an awesome look for NYE. Needless to say, I was not disappointed this time either.
A bit more expensive then I thought it would be, but the style lasted all night long. I wanted a up-​do for dinner and up till midnight, then I wanted let my hair down for after midnight and the after party. Needless to say the look was great till I got home at 7am.
Job well done!

I swear I have been going to this place since I was less than a year old. No really I have.
The staff is great very friendly, I think a lot of them have had the same clients for years and years. I have been going to the same girl for my haircuts for I think 10-​plus years. Minus the year or two I grew it out super long.
I get the best haircuts here and it is a pretty great price. Through the years, I have gotten my hair cut by three of the people there and they all did a great job. Know a lot of the staff and everyone is very friendly.
I would recommend this place to everyone.

I noticed that when I used to get a hair cut at other locations it took about a week, or so, for it to look okay. However, when I leave Van Gogh after Robert cuts my hair, it looks incredible right from the finish. I don’t want to go so far as to say that the man’s a genius. .. Okay, I’ll go so far as to say that, «the man is a genius.» And he’s quite entertaining to chat with, although I wonder if he enjoys long walks on the beach.
I know a number of people who’ve gotten serviced there and they also rave about the other stylists who not only cut, but color and whatever else you can get done to your hair.
Apparently you can also get work done to your nails.
Call ahead of time to make an appointment because they may be booked up.
Helpful tip: Even if you don’t need it, I highly recommend getting your hair washed by someone else because I, and everyone else on the planet, find (s) it to be one of the most relaxing events of all (and be sure to tip for that. there’s a jar on the counter in the front that says «tips for shampoo» or something to that effect. you’ll figure it out.)
