My son Jordan had such a great time this past week in adventure camp. He said he loved everything about it and is really going to miss all of the counselors who made such a big impact on him. He can’t wait to go again next year!!!

Been coming here for 8 years with my students for a school trip and really love this camp! Very clean, well organized and wonderful staff! Classes and activities offered are educational and fun for the kiddos! Love going back year after year!

Nice place but our school trip was cut short due to bed bugs in several of the cabins where the girls slept in. We had to put everthing in bags and we had to go home a day early

The site was a great choice for a group of ASB students for whom I’m one of the advisors. The advisors(myself included) stayed in the motel-style rooms in the SPRUCE building. It was a large bedroom with a queen-size bed and two bunk beds, able to accommodate six adults. The students stayed in the KERGILL dorms where it was occupied with series of bunk beds. In the SPRUCE building, it was great. Hot water in the shower, strong AC unit in every room. Towels were provided but weren’t changed during my stay(3 days). I think that’s expected, however, in a motel-style accommodation like this. THISYEARTHEYINSTALLEDFREEWIFI!!! Hooray! I have an iPhone and the AT&T’s 3G service was spotty at best — unavailable usually. The wifi network really helped. :0) But you really would not desire any need for communication with the world. The entire place is surrounded by trees, high above 4,000m elevation. When the sun started to set, and cast a blanket of orange and yellow over the trees in the distant mountain slopes… oh it was beautiful. The food is pretty darn good. Normally I’m not a big fan of cafeteria food, but they serve delicious meals and plenty of variety — in both meals and in drinks. Cafeteria serves three meals daily. The conference room we used was located at the bottom of the cafeteria. It was equipped with tables, chairs, marker boards, projector, ceiling fans, and refreshments were stocked in the room(coffee and water) with its own interior bathroom. Plenty of activities to keep everyone busy. The hiking trails are diverse — from a breezy walk to a challenging climbs. They have an archery range as well as a rifle range. Horse camps are offered. Big swimming pool, volleyball and baseball fields, ping-pong, etc etc. One would not be bored or need Facebook to keep entertained. This is a perfect place for a great weekend getaway — and I mean that in all sense of the word: GETAWAY. Everyone needs a period of disconnect from time to time. This place will provide it. Getting there can be quite hairy. I will not recommend driving up at night, as the road twists QUITE A BIT and the cliffs are pretty scary.

A place to get away from it all… Having grown up in SD county, I thought I knew it all. I was wrong– never have been to this neck of the woods– it’s north of Escondido, past the gaming casinos in Pala and Rincon– you just keep going on the two-lane highway. My friends and I went for a weekend retreat– and after we got up the mountain, it was very refreshing and relaxing. I was forced to relax– my mobile had zero coverage, and judging by the queue to the lone pay phone, no one else had coverage either. I went for a conference, so most of my time was in the conference center– nicely and conveniently laid out. Nice attention to details– fresh coffee and tea available in the rooms throughout the day. The dining area is buffet style and surpassed my expectations for quality, service, and selection. I was incredibly surprised when the kitchen staff offered to make me gluten-free pancakes(not on the menu) just for me when they learned of my request for GF food. Incredibly accomodating. We had a nice steak bbq one evening– with fresh salad bar, baked potatoe, and nice selection of steamed veggies. Wide variety of beverages– all self-service.(ok, no beer or wine offered :-) The rooms were fairly large– a group of five of us shared a room with two bunkbeds and a queen bed. The bathroom was laid out to accomodate such a group with seperate areas to get ready. My only complaint was the hard mattress– I had to create a pillow top using the comforter and then it was ok. Activities offered– horseback riding, hiking, archery, a pool. And did I mention skeet shooting with a shotgun? I have never done this before– I purchased six rounds and got one! I’ve never fired a shotgun before, much less on a moving target, so it was really cool to get one of those spinning orange disks! I’d come back again for a nice getaway– the center was able to accomodate at least six different groups during our stay, so I would consider it for our next group retreat!
