I have seen 5 neurologists in the South Bay, and have had issues with the first four that were serious enough for me to look for a new neuro. I switched to Dr. Cassini in 2005 and have never looked back. He is smart, thorough, and has a great bedside manner.(I also agree that he reminds me of McDreamy! :-)). He is very caring without coming across as «fake». He has an amazing memory; though I see him only a few times a year, he remembers what I told him during the previous visit, in great detail. I have a great deal of respect for the fact that his care is not guided by his ego. If he thinks a different type of care or specialty is appropriate, he will tell you straight up. He did have some issues with his support staff 3 or so years ago, but I have had great experiences with the team he has now. The only two downsides are that he is very popular(and you can draw your own conclusions about why that is the case) and hence it is difficult to get to see him unless your appointment is made well in advance AND the fact that he does not accept insurance. He is a wonderful physician whom I would trust with my life, and that is not something I say lightly.

The office of Dr Peter Cassini is no longer located on Welch Rd. Instead, his office is now at: 326 Bryant Street Palo Alto, CA Dr Peter Cassini has been the most helpful doctor I have seen to date regarding my head pain and migraines. While I haven’t been fully satisfied with his care, it’s a hell of a lot better than the care I got from the idiots I was seeing in San Francisco. My one big complaint is that the receptionist doesn’t seem to be on top of her game. I’ll get off a phone call with Dr Cassini where he says his receptionist will call me right back to schedule a follow-up appointment and then the receptionist doesn’t call me back for about 2 – 3 hours most of the time. Because of this I’ve gone several weeks without seeing Dr Cassini when I really needed to be talking to him every week. I would really like to see the level of communication in that office improve. Otherwise my experience with him has been great so far.

loved this guy as he is thoughtful and smart and didnt hurt that he looked like mc dreamy from grey’s anatomy. he has good kind energy and knows what he is talking about. i had originally been referred to another doctor but after reading on Unilocal that many reviewers thought he was smart but an ass, i decided to find someone else. cassini is smart and kind and searches for the root of the problem without jumping to quick conclusions. i def recommend him.

I was referred to Dr. Cassini by a retired doctor friend. If you are in need of a neurologist, particularly for a consultation and diagnosis, I highly recommend him. Within the course of our one hour consult, he was able to 1: diagnose the triggering event(The diagnosis was tricky in that I was alone when the event occurred and refused the ER after — so we had only my before and after the fact symptoms to flush out the nature of the event and its cause), 2. explain to me why the event occurred 3. explain how to avoid re-occurrence, 4. develop a treatment plan for the head injury(minor) that ensued from the event. Dr. Cassini does not take insurance and isn’t cheap. You will pay $ 475 for a one hour consultation(the office will provide you a super bill to present to insurance when you leave — my insurance picked up a little over a hundred dollars). The flip side is that he is incredibly efficient and in the long run, saved me money that other doctors would have squandered away on MRIs, CAT scans and/or other tests. If you care about bedside manner, he is very professional without being stiff or cold. His office is very professional and efficient.
