I’m visiting from Texas and found out last minute that I’d need to be wearing a skirt for a party. And, of course, had only counted on wearing pants around! I was in desperate need of a last minute leg wax and took to Unilocal to find someone. After reading Lidia’s fantastic reviews, I called to see if she might have an appointment available. She was able to see me within an hour! Her office is clean, simple, and relaxing. Perfect music selection and the lighting is beautiful(lots of windows for natural light). I very nearly drifted off to sleep and I was getting my legs waxed! That’s a feat in and of itself. I could not be happier with the service, but even more than that, Lidia is such a wonderful person. I want to take her back to Texas so I can be a regular client!

I was looking for a decent eyebrow place and finally I found it! My eyebrows are naturally thick but all the threading places I’ve been to were making them thinner and thinner and finally my brows were messed up. I grew them back hardly, but I did, but it was a mess, every hair sticking in different direction and stuff like this. Lidia made them perfect! She’s using European style of eye brow cleaning which is waxing and twizzers and it came out great! She is very delicate and it was all over a nice experience. I’ll be returning there for sure! Now I have to try her facial. :)

I can’t agree more with the person who said Lidia should get 6 stars. I’ve been coming to her for about three years for bikini and brow wax. She is so precise and gentle and makes the bikini wax experience as awkward-free as possible because she is so kind and genuine. She uses organic products and I am so impressed that she keeps current with her training and learning the latest techniques. Her prices are outrageously reasonable, especially for Palo Alto. The shop is immaculate. I recommend her with the highest praise!!!

Lidia did an amazing job on my eyebrows. She is patient, listens to her clients and pays attention to detail. I’ve tried other places for my eyebrows(threading, waxing, etc), and my eyebrows have not looked better before. Her studio is clean and bright. Will definitely come back in the future. Note: cash or check only.

I love Lidia. I first tried her out because she donated a facial to my daughter’s preschool. I keep coming back because she is good at what she does and is a no-nonsense, nice person. She has a small nicely kept space. Because she’s a small business person(and a good person to boot), she really cares about how clients feel about her service and it shows. I also really appreciate that she doesn’t try to push product, but has really good stuff available when I ask for it. I highly recommend her!

My new favorite place. I called Lidia at 2:10 and asked her what time was the soonest I could get in. She said 2:30. I drove over immediately! We had a great chat — even talked about a few business ideas, and had a great eyebrow wax too! Highly recommend her.

I have been coming to Lydia for the past 2 years for eye brow wax. Honestly, I have the faint Asian eye brows, but it does bother me when it is out of shape — Lydia does a great job considering the very few options. I believe your eye brow is one of the most important feature of your face. I got my bikini wax for the first time, it pinched a little bit, but that’s expected. Lydia was precise. Lydia takes her time; she is calm and patient. Her location is clean and comfortable. So glad I found her!

If there were 6 stars available, I’d go for that. As a first-time client, called Lidia at 5:30 hoping that she could fit me in before she closed her doors at 6. She said that she had just left because it was a bit slow, but that she could be back in the office in 10 minutes. Her little shop is adorable and cleaner than clean. Lidia is warm and wonderful. And somehow, she performed a nearly entirely painless wax. I don’t know if it’s the numbing spray or some kind of miracle, but it was easily the least painful wax I’ve ever had(and i get them all the time — and even am a die-hard loyalist to a waxer in the city who has been unavailable). So, in summary: More than accommodating, check. Lovely, kind service, check. That gets five stars. But what makes Lidia’s service go above and beyond Unilocal’s rating capabilities? Two things: It was her Birthday. She turned her car around on her birthday for some random, brand new client. And before she knew I had purchased her Unilocal deal($ 40 for $ 60), she was going to give me a discount anyway(I saw the receipt). This woman should have a line out her door. Go.

My original esthetician became unavailable for four months and I needed to see someone stat. My friend and fellow Unilocaler Michelle B.(see her review below) recommended Lidia. I originally went to Lidia for eyebrows, which, as most reviewers have written, she does beautifully. I consider eyebrows to be one of the most important beauty features on one’s face, aside from skin. I am very particular about how they should look and who is allowed to touch them. My eyebrows are safe in Lidia’s hands! Lidia tells it like it is. Her skin care philosophy is to avoid unnecessary or extreme procedures and products containing harsh, moisture-stripping chemicals, and daily ample use of sunscreen. I was dissatisfied with the condition of my skin and asked for suggestions on how to improve it. She helped diagnose my skin type, which I had thought was something different, by providing some small samples of different cleansers to test her theory. She was right when she said my cleanser was too harsh for my skin. It now feels hydrated and smoother since switching cleansers. I am very grateful for her honest advice. I have also been to see Lidia for a cleansing facial(which, upon futher inspection, she determined wasn’t needed) and a series of microderm treatments to improve pigmentation. Lidia does it all gently and effectively. A honest and professional approach to skin care is a must for me. I do not appreciate a «yes man» or having products pushed on me. Lidia has the right approach and does not push products. She may suggest products tailored to your skin needs that she has in her office, but encourages the client to find whatever works for them outside of her available products. However, from my personal experience, I can say that the cleansers and sunscreen powder are worth your while.

I have entrusted my eyebrows to Lidia for the past three years. My skin is very delicate, and waxing leaves wounds that take days to heal, so Lidia does it the old fashioned way for me – plucking. Her location is very convenient, her studio pristinely clean, and her skill and professionalism A plus. She always tries to accommodate my schedule.

Insanely overpriced, even for Palo Alto. Made my eyebrows pencil thin, it’s not 1998 anymore!

I’ve been going to Lidia for waxing(eyebrows, brazilian, full legs) for the past 4 years and I love her. I should’ve written this review sooner. Lidia does everything I like in a waxer — maintains a clean and comfortable studio, is diligent/almost obsessive about removing every hair, and distracts me with conversation when she is working on the more sensitive areas. While not the cheapest, her prices are on par for this neighborhood. And I would much rather pay a few bucks more for such quality work with minimal pain. Lidia has also gone above and beyond to accommodate me at times… such as the time I was traveling and she came in on her day off to wax me last minute. If someone is going to spend any amount of time close to your face and/or crotch, it helps if you are comfortable with that person. Lidia is always professional and personally warm, so I never feel uncomfortable around her. She is a sweet woman who knows what she’s doing… what more can you ask for?

I’ve been going to Lidia for brazilian wax for the last 4 months and figured it was time to write a review. She’s great and her studio is very clean. She never double dips which I’ve seen many waxist do. She’s quick and thorough and makes sure to grab the ingrown’s. Definitely happy with her work.

Clean sheet and environment overall, but her extraction skill is very bad(much say painful and scars left behind…) low quality of ilike organic product: absorption rate is 30% and just stays on the surface of the skin = not worth the $

If any of my friends are reading this, stop right here lest you learn in too much detail about my waxing habits. If you actually want to know, well, that is weird. I have been seeing Lidia for over a year now, mostly for brazilians. The first time I got it done, I was expecting something of a reaction akin to that horrible scene in the 40-year-old virgin. Also the idea that I would lie naked and expose myself to a stranger was very weird to me. But the experience was surprisingly tolerable, and I was even able to carry on a light conversation with Lidia throughout without feeling embarrassed. Lidia is very efficient and pays attention to detail. She meticulously gets rid of ingrown hairs even after all the waxing is done, and lets you rub a soothing aloe vera to alleviate the stinging. One tip for fellow brazilian waxers — I find that if I don’t get enough sleep or have a hangover, it hurts much more than when I feel rested. Overall, five stars!

I came to Lidia for an eyelash tint. I’ve been getting them for 20 years, since I was a kid. This was one of the most painful tints I have had. It wasn’t unbearable, but it hurt more than it should have. I think that Lidia doesn’t do a lot of these tints perhaps… She told me to open my eyes before the tint was all gone, Also, rather than waiting for me to open my eyes, she opened them herself, pulling back my eyelids with her fingers!!! Who does that?!! She also had this rinsing system that I have never experienced, and the water was dripping down my temples and through my hair. The place seemed clean, but Lidia seemed rather distracted Perhaps I caught her on a bad day. She was responsive when I asked her to redo a part that she missed, but it was not a fun or relaxing experience. She got the job done, but I am not sure I can recommend, based on my experience.

Take it from this BZ rookie, I’m a fan. This was only my second time, and thank gawd I don’t need to keep looking for someone else that can do this for me. I curse my girlfriends for saying«Oh, its so great» and«OMG, its so nice to be clean and free!!!» and«Oh, it won’t hurt as much as you think!» LIARS!!! The first time I went(somewhere else), I totally had a «Kelly Clarkson!» moment from that scene in that movie«The 40-year old Virgin». It took me a while to peel myself off the ceiling and to even consider this for the second time. Yeah, it hurt, you f*ckers. And I like to think I have a high tolerance for pain. Anyway, Lidia’s studio was really close to my work, and I was able to muster up the courage to try this again. Reading her stellar Unilocal reviews, I decided to suck it up and go for it. I called her in the morning and she was able to take me in the afternoon(Good thing, too — anything later than that I would have chickened out). I arrived on time but she was running about 10 minutes late. She was there to let me know as soon as I walked in, which was great. I told her I haven’t done this too often and she made me feel really comfortable. Exactly 30 minutes later, I was walking out and pleasantly surprised that I did not sweat bullets in there. Yes, for those who are asking, there *was* still pain, but not as bad… and the whole experience and professionalism with Lidia was a helluv a lot better than my first time. $ 65 for a wax job seems kind of pricey, trust me — totally worth it.

Lidia is great at eyebrows! She waxes them first, then does more detailed shaping using tweezers. She also gave me tips on how to grow them out so that they match each other better, something along the lines of «don’t pluck too close under your left eyebrow — let it grow back a bit so that next time when you come, I can make your eyebrows match better» — very helpful advice. Also: Bring cash! No credit cards.
