I work in the area and I’ve always seen the teal cups. I’ve always been curious about this place and finally had the chance to go. When I walked in, Julia was helping somebody, but acknowledged me and told me that she’ll be with me shortly. She answered all of my questions and gave me different choices based on my preferences. I was in a hurry as I had work soon… and stopped by because I was waiting for my appt at Apple. I dont remember the drink she gave me, but it was so good! She even offered me a coupon for next time. Definitely loved the tea, but will always come back for the wonderful service!

Today I walked into this David’s tea with only a taste in mind. I had no idea what band of tea it was herbal, white, green or black ??? The girl Connah was a total sweet heart !!! She showed me a variety of teas and finally a herbal tea that had tangerine, Apple, lemongrass tea !! I fell in love and brought a cold glass of it and some to bring to home with me !!! I’ll most definitely be coming back to this David’s tea and hopefully get this sweet heart again !!!

Gf and I came in for some tea but didn’t know which to choose from since they had a huge selection. The lady working was able to answer all of our questions and we probably got to smell about 100 different loose leaf teas. Ended up getting monks blend and yogi berry.

Great selection of teas, almost too many to choose from. The store front is easy to find on the street with DavidsTea unique blue’ish color sign. The smells are amazing when you walk in. Pro’s: –Brightly lite store, much more uplifting than a Starbucks which is usually darker wood tones and concrete floors or walls. –Close to 100 different teas to choose from. –Friendly staff, you can smell and try many teas to help you decide which you like. –Tea made right there for you, fresh, and hot! Con’s: –Skinny store, it is extremely tight when it is busy. –Walk in/Walk out store. There is no place to congregate with friends or study. –Many of the staff are young and like to gossip with each other instead of being 100% customer focused. –I ordered a large and it looked like a small/med. if I went anywhere else. Overall they have a huge selection of teas and a fairly knowledgable staff to steer you in the best direction. Enjoy!

The straight tea choices are okay — a bit limited if you want white tea, or oolong, but for green tea they’ve got a pretty good selection. I like their rolled green teas esp the dragon pearl. Too bad they don’t stock flowering /blossoming tea! Service is hit or miss — there’s one girl who’s super helpful and another who’s so-so, I had to kept on asking questions, she just stood there and didn’t offer any help or suggestions. When I asked her how the teas I have chosen differ, she’s like… Hmm it’s hard to tell, they’re similar… Really? Do you work here? I understand it’s confusing(which is why I have those questions) but she works there!

I’m not quite sure about the quality of tea itself, but David’s tea is certainly a novelty brand with fun and bright flavors! It’s whimsical and puts a different twist on tea by creating entirely new teas like red velvet cake or mint chocolate chip dessert, that smell incredible. I used to think David’s tea was from New York but I believe they are from Canada. Def on the pricier side, but their packaging is so cute and their sampler boxes make for great gifts! Workers are nice and they have samples at the shop along with a separate seating area.

Love the tea. Unfortunately, on every occasion that I have visited the store they are either our of the product in question or too busy to tend to customers. In my experience they are always understaffed and I don’t think waiting around to be served for 20 to 30mins is appropriate or appreciated. I will be purchasing online from now on. You know it is bad when you are in Palo Alto and rather than visit the store it is easier to order online. Get more staff.

A friend gave me a coupon for free iced or hot tea($ 3.50) — I decided to try the organic cream of earl grey tea. They allow you to choose to add sugar, sugar substitute, agave, or honey to your tea to adjust the sweetness. My tea was lovely on a cold day, and the service here is helpful and kind. You can choose from a variety of teas and they let you smell the various blends before you make a decision. The cups are cute too :) In addition to cups of tea, you can purchase tea leaves, tumblers, mugs, and more.

I love tea and I love coming to David’s Tea for their HUGE variety of tea combinations. The location on University Ave is really convenient too if you’re in the area for shopping/food. The baristas are super helpful too, just tell them what kind of a mood you’re/what you’re looking for and they’ll pull a few different teas for you; each of their canisters have a sniffing top so you’re not contaminating the rest of the tea inside. I walked in because I was early for an event and I got the new flavor that they were featuring — ginger peach moringa. The girl behind the counter pulled a couple more different teas for me to smell, but I ended up going back to the ginger peach moringa that I tried when I first walked in. Great alternative to Teavana teas, now that they’re owned by Starbucks. Don’t forget to sign up for the frequent steeper program! Just give them your email and once you go home, confirm your email address via the email that’s sent to you. You’ll get a free cup of tea on the second visit too!

This is a great place to grab any cup of tea among their wall of choices and hangout with free wi-fi. All of the teas are so visually pleasing in terms of color and smell amazing even before water is poured on them. You can have your tea hot or cold as well as a latte and teapop. Plus, grab some shortbread(matcha matsu or cinnamon) and tea-infused juicy orange milk chocolate bar to go with the tea. The service is fast, friendly, and very helpful. I loved their suggestions to try the cream of earl grey, fennel, strawberry rhubarb parfait, dark chocolate, and chocolate macaroons. I’d give them 5 stars if the tea was served hotter and there were more tables to lounge beyond the back. Don’t forget to come here on your birthday for a free cup of tea.

Do you like having choices? If you do, this is the perfect place for you. You can choose over 50+ different types of tea to drink @_@ I personally get a little overwhelmed but I do love that I have so many options. I love getting the tea latte because I think the milk gives the tea an additional boost and plus I like creamy drinks. My favorite has been the Coffee Puh’Erh tea latte! It smells and tastes like a real coffee drink but it’s tea! I’m also a fan of the pop tea too if you’re feeling something more refreshing and light. The tea drinks are around $ 3-$ 4 dollars and I think it’s worth it. They brew each cup fresh for you. The best way to pick a tea is to smell it. Most of the flavor of the tea comes from the smell and there’s a lot to choose from. Wonderful place to stop by and pick up a drink! Plus their teas make great gifts too!

This place has a great variety of tea from white, black, green, oolong, herbal and even the fruity or seasonal tea. Wanted to buy some tea as gifts and the staff knew exactly what I wanted based off my descriptions of what people did and didn’t like, even for myself. The staff was overall friendly and welcoming and made sure that my experience was great. If I’m ever in the area. I will most definitely come back and stop by not just for a cup of tea but to hang out with friends. Definitely recommend this place if there are any tea lovers out there.

I really like the idea of a tea bar where you can customize your drink(hot, iced, latte, sparkling, etc) and try samples while browsing their fun gift items. I also love all of the creative seasonal flavors. Think gingerbread cookie, honeycrisp apple, mulled wine, and snow day! The employees are always very friendly and upbeat. My main complaint is for many of the teas, they list artificial colors or flavorings for the ingredients. For a higher end tea bar with drinks from $ 3 – 4.50, they should have teas with only natural flavors. Otherwise a cool place to grab a drink on your lunch break. There aren’t any tables/chairs inside, so it’s a to go spot!

I had some free cup of tea coupons from the Ghirardelli festival and decided to drop by. Ashley welcomed my friend and me to the empty store before offering us samples of the day: iced honey crisp apple tea and hot peanut butter cup tea, which I heard is delightful with a splash of milk. Suffering from a cold, I opted for the hot tea and I could definitely taste PB. My main goal for coming in was to buy some of the mint chocolate rooibos I’d tried at the festival. 1 oz of loose tea leaf was $ 4 for the rooibos. Price depends on what tea you’re buying. Ashley surprised us by bringing down at least 15 different canisters of tea for us to smell, based on taste preference. They even have red velvet and birthday cake! Sad to say, my cold prevented me from smelling anything, except for the strongest scents, which included a tea with caramel popcorn in it. I knew I had to buy some pumpkin chai! She gave me a tip for enjoying a cup: steep the appropriate amount overnight in the fridge(?) and add some warm milk the next day for a classic cup of autumn goodness. My friend decided to get an orange blossom iced tea for her free drink and I got hot mint chocolate rooibos. I signed up for the free frequent steepers card and will get a free cup of tea during my next visit! Funny how the small shop filled up with customers right when we were about to leave. I’ll get some genmaicha with brown rice next time. *Two tables with chairs are located at the back if you want to sit and enjoy a cup($ 3 – 4.50) or whole pot of tea for $ 5.

Truly, the best tea experience I have had so far. I am a big fan of Lupica, and a small fan of Teavana and this tea place is what I wish they both were. What makes this place unique is not only can you buy loose tea, and a huge variety of it, but you can also on the spot get an iced tea of any flavor to go, or a hot latte, or a hot tea or even a fizzing tea(they add carbon to your ice tea). So instead of investing in a huge mess of tea’s that I might not even go back to if I do not like it, for a quick $ 3 – 4 I can sample everything. They also have a frequent steeper«frequent purchaser» type system so you get free tea after you go in a lot. Which you will do, you will definitely be a returning fan !! They also have a wonderful way to easily sniff the teas in advance, and the staff are very knowledgeable in the blends available and the ranges of flavors that will fit your profile. They actually really delight in helping you pick your teas and trying them out. One tea blend I’ve always had a huge problem with are the chocolate teas, because without milk they are bitter and frankly, quite bland. They always smell way better than they taste. However, having them as a milk tea latte with a bit of agave or honey at this location turns that problem tea into firm favorites. Probably one of my favorite things about the latte stuff they have. Oh, and they do have Soy as an option instead of milk. Greatest news for me, they are opening a San Jose location at some point in the future. Its on the radar enough for the general staff to know about so its definitely coming. I just hope they smartly choose a location with good parking that isn’t a pain to get to, because I will be a weekly(…who am I kidding… near daily !!) return customer. Just a great place !!! They also sell a gorgeous range of tea mugs and cups and containers that are really mod and cool. I can’t wait to get all my friends hooked on this place. My definite recommendations so far are the Buddha’s Blend(a comparable option to Lupica’s Happiness tea) and Magic Dragon, and Shirley Temple. The last two are more fruity. I could actually list forever how many are great going through black tea and green, but for now… these three I really like. My summer favorites! Looking forward to their new San Jose location at Oakridge Mall !!

They’ve got a lot of tea. Like a lot of tea. Picture a ton of tea. It’s more than that. Probably way more. The folks that work there are real friendly and will help you navigate that ton of tea pretty well. It’s a place where one can get pretty lost in the amount of choices you have. My advice: pick the broad category of tea you want(green, white, etc) and then decide if you want a flavored one or something more traditional.

Visiting David’s is almost like a wine tasting experience. They must have over 100(if not hundreds) of varieties of tea and the employees are incredibly knowledgeable. I am always impressed at how quick they are to explain the flavor complexities of each tea and go in depth about the aromas, elements, caffeine, steep time, etc. It’s like, how in the world do you know so much about tea?! And this many of them?! Madness! Genius! My favorite by far is the North African Mint — a green tea that will blow your mind. It’s incredible served hot and is one of the few teas you can buy in bags(not just loose). On a hot day you absolutely have to try the carbonated iced tea(peach is amazing). So unique tasting and perfectly refreshing. Apart from the incredibly complex and rich flavors, the best thing about a tea shop like this is that everything is guilt-free! Unlike Cream just down the street you can indulge all you like!

I challenge anyone who doesn’t like tea to come here and see if you still dislike tea. David’s tea is just way too amazing to not fall in love. They have a huge selection along the wall thats wonderfully organized in order from least caffeinated to most and from types of tea(white, green, oolong, black, herbal). You can order tea leaves(starting from 1 oz being the smallest to however much you want) or you can just pick a tea and have it made into a hot or cold drink for you! There is a room where you can sit and enjoy your tea as well. They also have a return policy that lets you return the tea so you aren’t stuck with a tea you don’t like. My favorite part is the customer service here. These people really take care of you which is why you will find something you like. The girl who helped us was so enthusiastic and knowledgable of all the teas. We told her one vague fact(that we like our teas light) and she seemed to know exactly what to do and picked out like 14 different ones for us to smell. We liked 90% of everything she chose. There were weird flavors like birthday cake, red velvet, coffee, to traditional mixes like guava, sunflower, etc… There’s so many I can go on forever. I also like how each tea you get a very specific set of directions printed on for you. From temperature to timing. Other tea places don’t do this. This is really helpful to ensure your specific tea tastes the best it can be. I wish David’s tea wasn’t so far. Or maybe it’s good it’s far or else I’d spend all my money here.
