This area is rich in history and significance to members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-​day Saints (aka Mormons). Among the historical sites included under this heading are: The Scared Grove, Joseph Smith farm, Smith family homes, Book of Mormon historic publication site, Peter Whitmer farm, and the Hill Cumorah. Regardless of your affiliation or non-​affiliation with Mormonism, people of every faith can appreciate the beauty of this area. On this property you will find some of the most beautiful forests and farm country you’ve probably ever seen. The Scared Grove itself is very beautiful, a thick green forest of beautiful deciduous trees. While you’re here also check out the replica cabins and farm buildings, showing an era long past. During the summer months the Hill Cumorah is home to a very popular pageant show. There is lots to see and explore in this area.
