This place is hardcore the best Mexican joint in the AV. Since 96 living up here we have been to most all of them. We started out at the one on 10th and Palmdale Blvd and have no complaints with that one at all. This one is newer and closer. The drinks are Awesome. Be careful and designate a driver if your having more than 1. For Real. They just moved in to a larger spot down a few doors from where the started off. It clean and nice. The food is a really good deal. Superior to most all the others but priced so fairly it’s amazing. Sunday Brunch is great, reasonable at the time of this writing is $ 10.95 and the Menudo is to die for. Come here the people are great too you will be back again and again.

Bar area is small. Parking lot is big but busy due to the supermarket. On the bright side great service. Excellent food. You get a lot for the money. One of the best places on the east side of Palmdale

Hands down the best Mexican food ever. Wish we had one in ventura county. All the locations are excellent frequented this one mostly when I lived on the east side. Been an el toreo customer since the first location, located back on Sierra hwy across the street from where ye old watch shoppe is. Food has remained delicious and affordable through the years. My favorites are Palmdale special, Steak Picado, Fajitas or the the camariones tampico(bacon wrapped shrimp) my mouth is watering as I type. The staff is super friendly I think most of them are probably family. And some of the staff have been with them for 10 – 20 even a couple for like 30 years. I still eat hear on occasion when I visit the antelope valley or passing through on the way to Vegas. I’ll say it again hands down the best Mexican food I’ve ever had. Bring an El Toreo to Ventura county it would be a home run

Prices are a bit high and food just a tad bit salty. But other than that the quality of food is there and good flavor. Service was great and the margarita had a good kick.

Always great service. Chips and salsa are delicious. Food is pretty good too. I always get a Michelada at every Mexican restaurant but unfortunately there’s is not very good. But overall nice place.

We have been to other Toreos and like the food. This one is very good! The staff is friendly and attentive. Generous servings of great mexican food puts this place on our list of regular spots to come back to. The prices are reasonable. and bathrooms are very clean.

This place is great! Service is amazing and the buffet on Sunday has a great variety of food. If a buffet is not what you’re looking for they have a menu you can choose from with great selections. The best time to come would be Sunday for the buffet, menudo and posole

I leave and I come back to a new location. Don’t worry. It’s the same plaza but storefronts over. I LOVE the new location. The chips and service were on point like they always are. I generally enjoy their chicken dish but this last time I was there for Monday night buffet. They had all the regulars(enchiladas, rice and beans, chill rellenos) but they surprised me with sopes and american food as well. I like their potatoes. The sopes were okay but they were ground beef which I don’t really like on my mexican food.

I love this place. The waiters are always on top of things. From start to finish. The prices are amazing. The provide you with fine dinning service but don’t have to leave you with your pockets empty when it comes to pay. The chips and dip were fresh. My favorite thing to eat here would have to be the wet burrito with shredded beef. Yummy in my tummy. I have been coming to this restaurant for years now with my mom and those burritos are what kept us coming back.

So much better than the old little location by weinerschnitzel. The food is pretty good I like the #15 Asada plate. What is good here is the Margaritas I had 2 strawberry margaritas and was pretty buzzed awesome and strong! Not like those watered down ones at el torito which sucks! Lol service is very good waiters are cool and on top of your table really great people. I always have a nice time here. Good for kids or dates or families, nice atmosphere.

You have got to be kidding! Here we are, wanting to have dinner at the best Mexican restaurant out here, and they«ran out of beans»?? Wtf!!! I gave 2 stars instead of one only cas of the raspberry margarita! We are going next door to Vince’s for dinner … I never come to this el toreo now I know why …

On July 3,2014, my wife & I went out with our friends for dinner & drinks. We decided to go to El Toreo since it was close to home. I believe it was around 9:00 pm when we arrived there. The waiter sat us down & asked us if we knew what we wanted to drink. I told him to give us a minute. I went to the restroom to wash my hands before I ate dinner. I was quickly disgusted with a bad smell. It smelled like the sewer. I assume their plumbing is backed up. Normally I would say something but I didn’t because I am sure they are aware of the problem. My wife & our friend ordered margaritas. My other friend ordered a budlight. I decided to have a bloodymary. My friend’s beer looked watered down. My drink was almost clear. It had a splash of red color. It tasted horrible even after I mixed it myself. I had my waiter replace it with a bottled budlight. The waiter came back to our table to take our order for our meal. I told him to give me a minute to look at the menu. He rudely responded, well you need to hurry up we are cloaking the kitchen. I told him in that case don’t worry about it I will go have dinner somewhere else since you are in a hurry to get us out. I paid for our drinks & left to Buffalo Wild Wings. I will never step foot in this place. The staff is extremely rude. The drinks are horrible. The food is ??? Since I wasn’t able to taste it. The place itself is old & rundown with a bad smell.

Had lunch with the in laws on a Sunday afternoon. We had an overall wonderful experience. Everything we ordered was tasty, although not the most authentic Mexican food — still delicious. Not one complaint from any one in our party about the food. We were all thumbs up. The drinks are really well made. We ordered Mi Cheladas and Cadillac Margaritas. Both were tasty but the Margarita was the superior drink — really good. Service was top notch, everyone was extremely accommodating and polite. They checked in on us regularly and made sure we had enough water. Will definitely be making return trips from time to time.

El Toreo will always have a special place in my heart. One of the only positives about moving up here(from a white suburb where taco bell was considered Mexican food), was being so close to el toreo. I could eat their beef tacos and Chile relleno everyday. The 6-item combo is a great deal — just $ 20 for six items and huge containers of rice and beans. The flour chips and fried ice cream are to die for as well :)

This is good as authentic Mexican food! I just love it when you get a huge plate and 5 different things are all pouring into each other frijoles, rice guacamole, chips and the cheese form your enchiladas, or whatever else you get. My favorite thing to get is a big Fat burrito– the Red burrito! The place looks small, but there are lots of spacious booths inside for your family or posse. It also has that authentic Mexican diner feeling dim lighting. The staff is wonderful and is friendly and attentive. I’ve also been to their Sunday and Monday brunch it’s very good and the price is right.

The best part of moving back to Palmdale was finding out there was a El Toreo within a couple miles of my door. My cousins and I grew up looking forward to family dinners at the original El Toreo on Sierra Hwy(no longer there). When I walk into the teeny tiny DC, all the memories flood back — such a small space yet it’s just like the old place — except no fountain :) Everything tastes fresh, and it’s always fast, hot and hits the spot. Best tacos ever, best enchiladas, and my husband loves the burritos. They never ever ever mess up a take out order, and when you eat in, you don’t go one minute without being checked on. Love this place! A true family tradition.
