My husband went to Stanton for a new RX and to get glasses. The eye exam seem to go well but when he went to pick up the new glasses and tried them on he couldn’t see. His vision was blurred. So back they went and two weeks later the glasses are back and he still has blurred vision. Their explanation: his eyes need to get used to the new RX. Needless to say. 6 months later his eyes have still not adjusted to the new RX. What a crock of shit. Just admit that you screwed up the RX. Don’t waste your time and or money. Go somewhere else. Stanton Stinks!!!

Amazing experience. We were able to get an appointment with the doctor the same day. She was a pleasure to work with. Everyone was great. Greg helped us find frames that were in our price range and looked great. No hard sell and very affordable!

I was there for the«buy one, get one» offer. Everyone at Stanton Optical treated me respectfully. I was assisted quickly and efficiently from pre-exam, to exam and then to finalize my order for two pairs of glasses. The $ 45 I paid for my exam was credited towards the purchase price of my glasses. The frames I selected were $ 149 and $ 119. The lenses I chose were«standard» and cost $ 258. My total came to $ 149 + $ 258 = $ 407 for my eye exam and two pairs of glasses. Although there may be alternate eyewear & optical companies I could have chosen and perhaps I might have found a cheaper price if I was to choose to put in the time to research, I am happy with my purchase and the service I received on my first visit. I look forward to receiving may new glasses.

DONOT Under any circumstance go here!!! The place is a giant rip off !!! Do not believe the«2 Pair for $ 69» lie! They are price gouging on the lenses, and I had to fight with then to give me the lens prescription. I will never go here again, I will definitely tell everyone I know about their false advertising !!! I only gave it one star because my review would not post. I would actually take that back!

The Dr is very nice and so is her staff. I read the reviews and have to say i agree with many of them. I had a similar experience i sat down to get a quote from a sales person from this location Nadine, when I let her know I wouldn’t be buying any contacts until next week she ripped up a pice of paper with information about our transaction and left me sitting there without knowing what was going on. I then got up and left, on my way out another sales person asked me why i wasn’t getting anything, as i began to tell him what happened Nadine interrupted our conversation by making a snarky remark and rolling her eyes.

First time going to Stanton and I’m glad I did! Dr. Almeida was absolutely wonderful and caring. Service was excellent and very professional. Nadine gladly spent her time and effort helping me find the perfect pair of glasses! Thank you!

Great service and very easy to select glasses. The ads say buy one get one free glasses but what they don’t tell you is that you also have to pay for lenses for each pair so $ 65 bucks quickly turns into $ 300. And no I did not upgrade anything as commented below. And my vision is pretty average.

See update below. I was very happy with the doctor who did my eye exam. Very professional and great personality. Love the selection of frames. July 18 update. Received glasses on Monday and the employee said wow looks like fingerprints in the middle. He cleaned and they went away. I was happy until I wore for a couple days and the fingerprints that keep coming up on the lens right in the middle. When you clean the lenses it does go away. I believe it is because of the anti glare they put on the lens. I took them back on Thursday july 16th after cleaning several times with the stanton cleaning kit I purchased. They noted my account because the employee cleaned them and the manger couldn’t see anything. He said if I had any other problems please bring them back. I took them back today and was treated like an idiot. Melissa basically said that the anti glare process is a highly technical process that she would not explain to me. The general manager Roberto told me I needed to clean my glasses everyday. I requested to return and give me a refund so I could purchase glasses some where else. He refused. I then said to redo without anti glare and refund me the cost which he refused. He said nothing was wrong with them. He did say he would send back and have lens done again. Now it will take another two weeks to get glasses. I have emailed corporate and waiting for a response. Even on Stanton website it says customer satisfaction guarantee. I recommend the doctor for the eye exam but get prescription and get glasses somewhere else. Aug 11 update. I got a call from the district manager who was an exceptional person. I explained to him what had happened. He said he would be discussing the issue with Melissa and Roberto. He then offered me what can I do to make this right. I told him that is wasn’t a material thing it was a «I’m sorry thing». He said that was why he was calling but it was not him that should have apologized for their actions. We talked some more and at the end he did offer me a new pair of glasses but I could go to the Forest Hill and Military location. They were wonderful. The staff Oshine and Frank was exceptional employees that do their job with respect and concern for the customer. I did receive my first pair of glasses back with the anti glare taken off but have not credited back the charge as was promised. Still waiting to see if this will be done. If you do decide to go to Stanton Optical use the Forest Hill location.

I would be remiss if I hadn’t written a review about the Stanton group. After reading the many 1 star reviews of how Stanton customers would rather have their eye-teeth(forgive the pun) pulled rather than return to Stanton and because I’m a masochist I thought I’d go forth where few brave souls did and pay them an «office» call. Venturing in with anticipation of being the next lamb to the slaughter or having somebody pat me on the back to find a soft spot to drive the knife, I was pleasantly surprised with how friendly everybody was. The eye exam: My eye and medical history info was gathered by a sweet lady called Elizabeth — polite and meticulous. The eye exam was handled by Dr Phan who was a true PROFESSIONAL and explained in depth the overall synoptic history of my eyes. After dilating my eyes and returning for a second trip 20 minutes later, Dr Phan spent probably the lion’s share of an hour with me as I have some complications with my eyes. Her graphs and charts in her explanations as to what was happening were priceless. The glasses: After Dr Phan, I wandered into the adjoining optical store and met«salesman» Michael. I asked him, point blank, that with all the black eyes(again, forgive me with the puns) that Stanton had received, have they finally got their«stuff» together. Michael looked at me quizzically and told me that he was the newly appointed General Manager at Stanton and that he was striving to turn the tide. I told Michael that I wanted, promo priced 2 for $ 69, two rectangular shaped frames(I showed him one of my old pairs) one for reading and the other for distance and he walked over to the display and grabbed two pairs — which were exactly what I wanted. No kidding. Really. I did tell Michael that I did have psoriasis and what were the lightest glasses that he carried and he introduced me to the Kishimoto — which really were a work of art. As these glasses were not part of the special deal and with the many negative reviews dancing in my head, I opted to get my no brainer 2 for $ 69 to allow Stanton a trial run in case the horror stories were true about the lenses and possibly your brains falling out. It’s been almost a month now that I have been giving my two separate glasses a work out(had to wait 8 days to get them — Mandy and Charly were great in this department) and incredibly, the lenses are still within the frames and the glasses are excellent. I was going to return to Stanton, see Michael, and buy those Kishimoto(bifocal) but in the interim the one thing I have noticed is that my eyes are constantly changing. When the changes stop, I’ll Kishimoto-splurge my eyes. All in all, mathematically, when you pay $ 45 for a brilliant eye exam and pay $ 12 each for two pairs of nice looking glasses, how can you screw up? I hit on all cylinders with the Stanton people. Perhaps I was just lucky or perhaps they really have started to see the light. Here’s looking at them. I know, these puns…

I bought and ordered a pair of glasses, out of pocket, and I received them a week later than the two weeks they initially told me. The left lens was warped and I went back and they ordered me a new pair and told me it would be in within 2 – 3 weeks. I called 2 weeks later and, after some confusion, they told me it was gonna be another week. I went in after a week and talked to them and they could not find my order and finally admitted that the order was not placed. Ultimately, I was lied to about my glasses, and I am still waiting for them to correct their mistake. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone.

Had a very pleasant experience today. I am new to the area and am in the market for new glasses. I saw the advertisement for 2 for $ 69.00. That of course lured me in. I was greeted by the receptionist April and the general manager Holly. The general manager was with a patient and said she would be right with me. The store was very busy. Holly got up and introduced herself. She asked if I was here for an exam, I explained to her that I was shopping around. She told me about the promotions and showed me around the store. The doctors office was packed and since I was on lunch I didn’t have alot of time, I wasn’t quite ready to setup an exam for that day. The manager gave me some Bal park figures and helped me select some nice frames as well. I explained to her I was in a hurry but would be back. I was going to continue to shop around, but I will be back. Everyone was friendly and helpful. I haven’t received such great customer service in along time. I will be back!

BAITANDSWITCH. Same as Americas Best. It should be Shafton and Americas Beast. The eye exam is less than adequate. They don’t do half of the tests. I’m not sure it’s legal. The prescriptions are wrong. The glasses are close outs and outdated. Horrible place. I’d rather pay and have my glasses made correctly and have a proper eye exam. Find a private doctor that cares. These are just pumping glasses for the chain.

Wished I looked at the review here before going to Stanton. It took 2+ weeks to get glasses for my son and myself. My contacts took 20 days from the eye exam to arrive. The staff itself is very nice and helpful. The building on Congress Ave is a bit run down looking inside. Neither one of our prescriptions fell into the«Two Pairs for $ 69» category so I spent a lot more money than originally planned. We didn’t find out that our glasses would take two weeks to arrive until AFTER I had ordered and paid for everything. We made FIVE separate trips to complete this transaction. The computers were slow two times we were there. I waited about 10 minutes just to schedule a follow up visit for my contacts. The final straw for me was when we picked up my son’s second pair of glasses(day 18 after exam). I asked if my contacts were ready. No, they weren’t there yet but TWO hours later someone from Stanton called and said my contacts were in… I waited a day and a half to pick them up because I have other things to do besides hang out at Stanton. When I picked the contacts up at first no one could find them… it took about 10 minutes to locate them. Chandra Bill, you’d better check on this company you’ve endorsed!!! NEVERAGAIN!!!

A bunch of crooks. Don’t waste your time, even with the«deals/specials» they offer. Eye exam and order completed 11÷4÷2013. I was told it would take two weeks, called several times after two weeks to find out what was taking so long. I did not receive my glasses until 11⁄30. Nearly DOUBLE the amount of time they originally promised. I asked for them to refund the amount and all they would do was apologize for it taking so long. DONOTSHOPHERE

If we continue to allow businesses like this step on us we will all be flat broke! They insist that you take the glasses even though you can’t see and tell you that you will get used to new prescription. Then they told me that i was within 30 days for a refund. When i went back to return glasses they then give you the refund policy. I will not return to this place and i suggest no one else gets trapped by their buy one get one free!!! Its a lie DONOTFALLFORIT!!!
