Yellow Cab of the Desert

Horrible service! Driver #122 is completely rude, disrespectful & un professional. We were a group of 8 getting picked up from Fantasy Springs being we didn’t fit in one car we asked him to take the girls first then pick up our husbands he initially agreed but then changed his mind when we drove off telling us they could get into another cab & not to mentioned he said to hurry & get into the car he had more money to make (in disagreement we told him that wasn’t the deal, which the operator said we could do) & sure enough he left them at the resort to never return and they had to walk (at 3am!) because of how busy they were & couldn’t get someone else out until another 45 minutes!!! When they arrived they saw him pull up with other passengers in the cab at our hotel asking why didn’t he go back, his response was… he had a pick up much further where he could charge a higher fair! Oh & because we didn’t tip! HELLO he was horrible I wasn’t aware that we had to tip for bad service! if I would have known how bad they are we would never had used their services. I called to complain & now 2 days later I’m still waiting on a «follow up» call I would assume they’d be more concerned about customer service. this company is ridiculous!

Extremely disappointed in this cab service. Had a cab driver named Ross Seidner. If you get this cab driver, do not get in the car. He not only made rude and degrading comments but drove extremely erratic. Speeding up toward red lights, switching lanes, very unsafe. Then when checking out was openly pissed that I did not tip.

Yellow cab is the best. Drivers are punctual and know all areas and attractions of the Coachella Valley and surrounding areas!

We have been using them for the past month, grate service! friendly drivers (we had a driver named Glen who was grate!)who are understanding to seniors as well !!! They have taken us to the Hard Rock Hotel, CBS Studio’s, Oscars Bar & Grill and many other places!
We have made them our regular Taxi Cab company due the fact they have not disappointed us and there dispatcher was grate as well.

They tried to be on time but the cab broke down. That happens, BUT THEY DID NOT CALL ME! I wait and wait and then call the cab company. I wait and wait through their ridiculously long outgoing message about booking on line, then about their web site, then blah blah blah, thank you for using, blah blah, THEN IT CONNECTS YOU TO A LINE TO HOLD ON. I wait and wait AT 5 AM DURING OFF SEASON AND THEY CANT BOTHER TO PUT THEIR DONUT DOWN AND HELP A CUSTOMER. You know guys, you can first put people through to an agent and if there is a wait THEN play them all that advertising garbage. I finally am told the cab broke down. By then the driver has walked to my house and is asking me about a tow company while I’m am frantically packing my car to get to the airport. Are you kidding me? CALL YOUR COMPANY WITH THE PHONE/​walky-​talky YOU ARE HOLDING IN YOUR HAND AND ASK THEM ABOUT TOWING YOU IDIOT.

Never again! Reserved a taxi for a 4:45 am pickup to catch a 6 am plane. They never showed up. Called three times. The dispatcher said, «Oh, we have no one in the area.» Having made the reservation days in advance, they never called to say they couldn’t do it? Finally, I had them call another company (Desert Cab — who came immediately). Barely made the plane. I plan on telling everyone I know: Never, never, never use Yellow Cab. From now on, it’s only Desert Cab for us.

I have used Yellow Cab and also Über. Today I heard a radio ad promoting the Yellow Cab app. The ad severely bad mouthed Über by casting negative statements that the drivers background checks are minimal and the insurance coverage is sketchy. Both allegations are misleading lies. Über driver submit to a complete criminal background check as well as a CA DMV record check. Drivers must carry full state required insurance coverage and Über has a $ 1.5 million policy that picks up where the drivers policy stops. Plus Über requires a detailed vehicle mechanical safety inspection on top of everything else. I can tell you that I have had to wait long times for a requested taxi to show up compared to only a few minutes for an Über to arrive. Fares run $ 3.21 a mile + other fees for a taxi, and Über runs $ 1.75 /​mile and 20 cents a minute travel time. For me, no more taxi cabs. Über is my choice every time.

Rafael Castillo took us from La Quinta to Palm Springs. He took us so far out of the way, A $ 50 cab ride ended up $ 100. What a tool.

Coachalla weekend, not enough cabs. We actually pre-​ordered a cab to take us to the greyhound line to make it back to LA and our cab got nabbed, the driver didn’t even verify the name. We called again, didn’t show up at all, in fact they forgot our order all together. There was a couple from Australia that ordered a cab from a different company and we were all taking the same cab together. They were really gracious enough to allow my best friend and I to take the cab with them. It turns out that they were both really high profile music journalists, therefore, we had a lot to talk about. No thanks to this cab company.

If I could give this company zero stars I would. I called at 1pm to make a reservation for 5:30pm to go to dinner the dispatcher was very rude gave me an attitude as if it was an inconvenience to take my reservation. By 5:45 no cab yet so I called them once again the dispatcher was rude and told me to wait that the cab was on the way that they’d be here in 15 minutes. By 6:30 still no cab called back to see what was going on waited on hold for 10 min only to be told I’d have to wait another 15 minutes. By 7pm still no cab. So I called back to cancel got attitude once again. I called American Cab and was picked up within 5 minutes. That’s what I call great customer service.

I called on Sunday morning to set up a pickup time for 4:00 the next morning to get to the airport. I called later Sunday night to confirm the pick up and was told everything was set. I was ready and waiting Monday morning and no cab. I called at 4:10 and was told by the dispatcher that she didn’t know what happened and would send another cab. I waited until 4:25 and called again. This time I was told that there were no cabs in ther area and they couldn’t pick me up. I then had to wake up the people I was staying with at 4:30 in the morning and ask them to drive me to the airport. At 5:10, while sitting at the gate at the airport, a cab driver called and said he was at the house to pick me up. I told him I had made other arrangements to get to the airport since the pick up time was 4:00. He seemed somewhat inconvenienced.

Gabriel Saved the day, then the next day after that!!!
American Cab screwed us by not picking us up and not telling us they were going to be an hour late. We had reservations at LGs and American Cab never came. Gabriel from Yellow Cab got out to us in 30 min to make it so we could make our dinner reservations (30 min late, but not Yellow Cabs fault, we wouldnt have made it without them).
Then Gabriel went above and beyond to pick us up for the tennis tournament the next morning.
Thank you yellow cab, only company that should be used in the palm desert area.

Ive waited 30 mins for cab. Local afternoon ps pick up. 30 mins is ridiculous. Calling another company.

Called and told the estimated time of arrival was 10 – 15 mins and the driver was there within 7 mins. Driver was polite and friendly. I’ve used yellow cab many times before and have always been completely satisfied. I will continue to use this taxi service!

Yellow Cab has always been on time and their drivers are always personable. I have never had a problem with them getting a cab out to me. I choose Yellow cab before any other car service.

Absolute nightmare!!! I called for a wheelchair van for my mother on hospice and was told the driver was busy (12pm) but they could schedule me for 2pm. That would have been fine. It is now 5pm and they have given me every excuse you could possibly think of why the driver is not here yet. Are you kidding me? I have never dealt with a company so unprofessional. They just arrived at 5:42pm. Will never use this company again
UPDATE: the manager personally reached out to me and rectified the situation. I can’t change the rating but I truly appreciate them making it right.

In my opinion, Taxis are only as good as their quick response time, and this guy would have to be a caped superhero to have arrived any faster!
Called for immediate pickup to get my pup to the vet right away… He didn’t mind my 30lb fuzz ball and wasted no time getting us there. A huge help!

Not sure why this company gets such terrible reviews. I only used them once, but they came pretty quickly, the driver was super-​friendly, and gave us helpful info since we were from out-​of-​town. If anything, he was overly-​friendly and talkative. Not much of a negative though, in my opinion.

I would like to thank the crew for helping me out when I was in a pinch. They were courtesy and efficient. They definitely took care of me. I have added them to my go to list for that area.

Yellow cab is friendly and dependable. I really like the vans for comfort. And, When I go out with the girls we always use them.
