The meal was very good. My wife had grilled fish tacos which she said were very tasty. I had carnitas, one of my favorite Mexican meals. I did not sample my wife’s meal, so I will say she is a picky eater, so I will go with that. I am very picky and adventurous. Our daughter is a chef, Paris and now Holland, we like food. The carnitas were well seasoned, and moist despite still that chewy accent that I love, and were grilled with peppers and onion, so they had a little sauce to them. Not common! The rice and beans, also very good. Rice is authentic and the beans are refried but with more texture, but still had nice moisture. Guacamole, lettuce with a little crème fresh also served. I did not give them a five score because we live near Oxnard Ca. where there is a large Mexican American population, with outstanding restaurants. In Oxnard restaurants don’t survive if it is not special, just like the neighborhood restaurants in Paris. By the way, we sat at the table by the kitchen door. Yes there was traffic, but the kitchen was quiet and the restaurant full at every table. Margarita was standard fare. I recommend.

Good food prompt service. Beef enchiladas, chili relleno, tamale all very tasty. Friendly staff get there before 7 or you will wait awhile. Happy hour ends at 6:00 and starts back up at 8:00 so plan accordingly.

Everything was awful from the service to the food. It took forever to get anyone’s attention our server visited us twice once to take the order and then to bring the food. We sat for a while with empty glasses, no one asked if we wanted refills or another drink. The food either was to salty or had no flavor. The fish tacos were so salty that you could barely eat it. The steak tacos had no flavor it was like eating just a corn tortilla. There was a fly that wouldn’t leave my plate so the beans went to waste and sadly they were the only thing I wanted to eat. We waited quite a while for our food and when it came it was a 2nd disappointment for this place. we will not return and will not tell people about this place in a good light.

I rated this place on their excellent service and delicious tamales. Nice décor, pretty cute inside. The rest of the food was just ok, not bad but didn’t really have much flavor.

Saw their ad on tv, thought I’d check them out. We’ll start from the beginning — chips excellent, salsa marginal. Lot of water, not a lot of character. Margarita excellent. Ordered the #5. — chicken enchilada and chile relleno. The chicken itself quite good, the sauce not so much. An alternative to the ranchero sauce such as a green chili based sauce would be nice. The tortilla was a bit chewy. The chili relleno is an Ortega Chili … very, very mild but tasty. Quite a bit of breading but the highlight of the meal. Bottom line — my search continues for an excellent Mexican restaurant in the Valley.

My husband and I ate here when we were visiting Palm Springs. We picked this place because of several good reviews and we were not disappointed. After a bit of a wait we were seated and ordered fajitas. I had the tropical chicken fajitas and he had a combo with ship, steak and chicken. Although I thought they were very pricey, they were probably the best fajitas I’ve I had. If We return we will agree to order one double fajita for for an additional $ 4. Their salsa was awesome too! Giving 3 stars because the service was just ok. Our waitress had a couple of large parties so it was difficult to drink refills.

Visited this Mexican cuisine restaurant because a friend had recommended the one in Indio, so figured this sister restaurant must be good by association. Bad assumption. The ambiance was neutral, no hint of its name(Old Town Mexico), a bland décor, could have been mistaken for a greasy spoon. Food was flavorless, except that the fried beans were overly salty and had an unusual after taste that I couldn’t figure out. Beef enchilada sauce was straight out of the can. Arroz con pollo was dry and the chicken was over cooked. Even the chips and salsa, although free, weren’t worth the price. Avoid this stop, try the one in Indio, I’ll try it with my fingers crossed. To the owners I suggest they invest some time and compare the kitchens of these restaurants to find out why the slump in overall presentation and flavor from one house to the other.

One of our favorite Mexican restaurants ever! Whenever we are in the desert we make sure we eat here. We like this one and the one in Indio, the one on El Paseo we like the least(the food is good there, just the ambience is a little lacking). The sweet corn tamales are so good! Best I’ve ever had. The service is always friendly and prompt, and seriously, the food is awesome. Love how the food always comes out piping hot, so you know they just made it. Great food, great service, great restaurant.

Went on a Thursday night at 7:30 and place was empty! We should have left but did not. Before we could order loud DJ type music started blaring. We were confused as no one else was there except us. A worker noticed our displeasure and told us that they were testing the system as the restaurant was becoming a night club starting the next day. The testing stopped and finally our food came. Two of us had meals that were lukewarm at best. Hard to believe WHENYOURTHEONLYCUSTOMER in the place! Food was fair. Place too big and(was a TGI Friday and still looks like it) no effort has been made to decorate, a looser.

Well if you can get past some of the bad reviews just because its in a strip mall, you will be in for a nice surprise. We found it to be very clean, friendly and the food wes really good. i had the Flautas and they were stuffed full, served piping hot and so tasty I ate all of them. The chips were served warm and fresh, the salsa was great — not to spicy. Alcohol drinks were good too, if you go between 3 — 6pm Margaritas are $ 3.95.

I don’t understand some of the bad reviews this place has received. The food I’ve had there on 3 separate occasions was very good. It is true that on one of the 3 visits the service was less than perfect, but it has never been bad — the other two times it was excellent. The manager seems to be absolutely committed to providing a good experience to the diners, but doesn’t hover over the tables, which I appreciate. I will definitely be going again. The main thing I notice about the food is how very fresh and bright it tastes. Some of the spicier items have been cooled off a little, probably for broader appeal. I like it spicy, but many do not. I’m going to ask them to ramp it up a little bit, and will report back after I do.

I didn’t get as afar as the food… we got to the restaurant at 6PM. There were many open tables the hostess does seat us promptly but seats is directly in front of a four top that is directly in front of the kitchen door. We ask if we can be moved. The hostess then goes and gets what appears to be a manager. She returns and the manager asks us, «Do you have a question?» We ask again if we can move from I front of the door. She asks as if we are being I convenient again where we would like to move. I would understand the need to move us if the restaurant was packed but only half of the tables were filled. Will not return.

Located across from COD college this sister restaurant of the Indio location is conveniently located off of Cook street. The parking is never an issue and they offer happy hour specials and a bar with flat screens. I arrived for dinner during the week and the place was bustling. I was seated at a comfy table and the waiter who served me prior was working my table again. I was in the mood for enchiladas and picked the combo entrée that included a cheese, chicken and shredded beef enchilada, beans and rice. I asked for the enchiladas not to be overcooked or crispy and the waiter and chef made it happen. Service was spot on and all the employees were friendly, I’d recommend this place for lunch, HH or dinner.
