Albertsons

I am torn. I love shopping here, but due to recent experiences I’m a pretty disappointed. First issue is that I often find things out of date there. I always notify someone and they get it fixed immediately and are very apologetic. Bottom line is it should not be happening. Some people don’t even check their dates and must be really disappointed when they discover the expiration date at home or even worse get sick and have no idea why.
Second issue, which is why I’m Unilocaling today is that one of their butchers lied to me in order to try to get me to buy his product instead of looking elsewhere and then he treated me like a snob and rolled his eyes at me. He was a medium build Caucasian man with glasses and a «weathered» looking nose. Mid 40s to mid 50s. I describe him in detail so that he will not be confused with a slender gentleman with a mustache who is always pleasant and helpful.
I came in looking for wild caught domestic jumbo shrimp. I asked him where his shrimp were from, and he could not tell me. I told him I did not want anything from overseas, especially China due to their seafood farming practices. The butcher scoffed at me and rolled his eyes. He then informed me, as if I am a stupid woman, that I would not find what I am looking for anywhere since the BP oil spill. I told him I highly doubt it and again he told me I am wrong and even interrupted me. He suggested I buy the bagged jumbo frozen shrimp. I told him several times no thank you.
Bottom line is that he made me feel stupid and I knew he was lying, or at the very least ill informed. Interrupting a customer and rolling eyes and perhaps even being sexist (I got the feeling he would not speak this way to a man) is not the way to gain business.
This Palm Desert Albertson’s location is saved however by most of the other employees there. I love all the cashiers and the bakery people as well. I just could do without the bad attitude, know it all butcher and the out of date food. I was in on Wednesday ²⁄₂₄ or Tuesday ²⁄₂₃. I am unable to find my receipt. Just to give you an idea, I have spent almost $ 600 on food there this month. Probably going to opt to go across the street to Ralph’s for a while.

Very clean store. Young guy at the deli was the nicest, great customer service! Good selection in the deli and for road trips!

Maybe one of the nicest stores I have visited. Very clean, staff was very helpful and no lines. Came to get a few things here and was very impressed by everything in the store. Personally I enjoyed walking by the clean aisles and well kept store. Their sections and store arrangement were very nice and signage was easily visible.
They also have red box units (2 of them) which was great. I would recommend this store for sure as oppose to others.

This Albertsons is so clean and well stocked. Even the bathrooms are clean. No, I don’t go shopping to use the bathroom, but I have three kids. Chances are one of them has to go.
We were fortunate to happen upon an alcohol sale. We scored some really nice bottles of wine. Ten bottles to be exact. This market had everything we were looking for. And items that I know our market back home doesn’t carry. So we picked up a lot more than needed. We spent about $ 100 and saved $ 85. That’s a deal!

5 stars, highest rating I can give, based solely on the frozen pizza selection. It’s a whole entire aisle. Had I known a) the location and b) how to use the oven they must surely have in their deli section, I would have declared «I claim this in the name of me!» ala Christopher Columbus. But, I restrained myself, bought one pizza and exited with minimal spazzing. 5 stars to myself on that self control.

So, the Store Director: Oh, so came through on the new «Coca-​Cola Life» product. Yea! My daughters gonna be so stoked when she sees the case. ;)
I love it when a business see’s the value in providing a Gift card and products to substitute for a horrible customer service run made by its employee’s.

I only get as far as the deli because that’s the only place I need to go. They have this thing called «express meal.» You get your meat, wedges, and any side dish in the cold section. It’s like 5 – 6 bucks.
Marketta, I think that’s how it’s spelled, in deli — she’s a doll! Very sweet lady. She has excellent customer service skill!
I was having a sad and terrible day when I went in and got lunch. Marketta was just being her usual, happy and sweet self. She really did turn the rest of my day around! Her positive attitude is contagious!
Now that I think about it, I go in there every so often for a dose of her good vibes… Not so much the food. Lol

I used to only come to this store to use the bank, and I normally shopped at other supermarkets. But I decided to give Albertson’s a shot because the other local supermarkets have been consistently letting me down in terms of their produce and meat departments. I wish I knew about this place a long time ago! The produce section has been very well stocked with really fresh products so far, and the meat department is fairly well stocked but has not had what I was looking for a few times. Not a deal breaker at all, just a slight bummer. Overall, I really like to shop here and their prices are pretty good.

Love this Albertsons! Store is always clean and fully stocked. I’ve never had any problems with bad produce like some other stores

Always a regular shopper, my favorite store. Lisa & Tina are always so professional and genuine so I keep coming back!
