Luke’s is a great place that we’ve been going to since before they built this place and partnered with Tore. The hot dogs are always good and the amount of fries they give are crazy, but good! At this location they have hot dogs, beef AND pizza. Plus I noticed today they have chocolate cake and carrot cake! Maybe next time I’ll skip the fries so I have room for dessert.

The food is good. The Italian beef sandwiches are great along with the hotdogs. I also enjoy the Italian ice. However, the prices are obscene. There is no reason a chicken sandwich with fries and drink should be $ 12. If I wanted an unseasoned piece of meat in between some bread with lettuce and tomatoes I would have made it at home. I legitimately think the prices could be cut in half. The food is great don’t get me wrong, it’s just not worth the price.

I’ll go ahead and say I’ve never had the beef here.(My coworker went with me once and spent a small fortune for the same thing she normally gets at Portillos for less.) What I have ordered is the #13 Schoolhouse Special. It’s a HUGE slice of greasy pizza, a HUGE bag of fries, and a drink for something around $ 6.99+tax. The sauce is really good and the pizza tastes great. It’s easy to get in and out of this place and there’s a lot of seating both inside and out.

Last night I visited tore & lukes to get a beef sandwich, & was totally disappointed. The sandwich was more peppers than beef & was so soggy that the sandwich completely fell apart. I had to take french bread out of the freezer, thaw it out and remake the sandwich. A month ago I went there for a hot dog. I paid $ 7 for 2 hot dogs & No Fries. Goodbye tore & lukes hello portillos… so disappointing.

I go here once in a while for my Italian beef craving. Currently, it’s $ 9.99 for an Italian beef, large«bag o’ fries» and large drink. Peppers are an extra $ 0.49 and cheese sauce for the fries is $ 0.65. The soft drinks are Pepsi products. This place makes a solid Italian beef. Big, juicy, and flavorful. Not the best in the whole wide world, but in my opinion one of the best in the area. The fries are hot and plentiful. Typically could use a splash more of salt. Today, my spouse got the Jimbo Mow the Lawn salad. It was terrible. It’s like cucumber that tasted like pickles, tomatoes, pepperoncini, cappicola, cheese, green and black olives, iceberg lettuce, and onions. The cappicola was slimy. The whole salad came in huge hunks and you had to cut it yourself. The salad dressing was Ken’s Italian salad dressing packets. Granted, you shouldn’t go to an Italian beef place for a salad, but if you got one it shouldn’t be disgusting. I need something at these places to get my health-conscious spouse to go. Also, service tends to be slow. Especially through the drive-thru. Based upon the roast beef because that’s the claim to fame, four stars

The Italian beef is fair at best. If you get a Hot Dog, be prepared for a mountain of basic packaged frozen fries. Nothing here is Original. After you eat here the first time. You feel like you have eaten in a thousand places just like this place.

This place used to be fantastic. I don’t know what happened, but the quality has slipped. When I order a Chicago dog with everything on it, why wouldn’t you put sport peppers on it? Or at the very least, why wouldn’t you ask? The dogs and beef were fantastic here. Even the polishes were good. Now? Meh. There are better options for the money.

This is the place. I have been going here for years! The combo is the best there is. The bag of fries(tell em crispy) can’t be beat. I crave the combo with hot peppers and nothing else will do. Their sub is also awesome. Some kind of garlic butter on it makes it simply delectable. enjoy Lukes!

Why do people like this place? The Italian sub must be the only reason that they have return customers. I have been here twice and both times I went through the drive thru & I had to pull forward to wait for my order(hot dog, cheese burger & fries). The food does not taste that great and is no better than you can get at the next grease pit. What restaurant doe not have a cheeseburger on the kids menu? I will try not to be back here.

So I want to rate this place high but here’s my issue $ 9.00 for two hot dogs and small drink seems way too high to me! Sad cause they do have good food and drive thur you always wait!!!

We decided to go to Tore and Luke’s for a quick dinner. Right off the bat we noticed it was dead inside. Nothing like a large fast food restaurant on a Friday night at 7:15 on a busy street with no customers. We should have taken the hint and walked out! I had s combo beef and sausage. The bread was stale. On the parts of bread that were soaked you might not have been able to tell, but most of it was not soaked, dry and no good. My wife had a chicken parm sandwich wich turned out to have been nuked. Overall very disappointing.

Delicious Italian beef sandwiches. The«little beef» sandwich was the perfect amount for me. I opted for cheese with sweet and hot peppers, which were well-matched accompaniments to the beef and bread. I also ordered fries, which was a sizable portion, hot and crisp. The sandwich will automatically be dipped in broth on one side, allowing you to grasp it with the drier side without it falling apart. The broth with the beef made for a juicy, tender, flavorful sandwich. Service wasn’t the most cheery, but the order itself only took a short time to make. Overall a good place to dine.

Every so often I drive by here and I get a craving for their Italian Sub, and a bag of fries, it has always been a favorite of mine that being said I really have not had anything else. so i would recommend for their subs, they have a Butter/oil mixture that they put on these sandwiches thats awesome.

Excellent French fries. Good Italian beef sandwich. Good Italian sun. I think it is a good place to eat.

This used to be the place for Beefs… sorry to report no longer… Absolutely no flavor and meat quality was mediocre at best. This will be my last time here as I have been disappointed in the past as well. If you want the best Italian Beef you must stick with the best and that’s Portillo’s. Not even sure this deserves 2 stars… Sad

Stopped at this place because it was convenient and we were hungry. Pizza had a strong beer taste to it, our $ 10.00 Italian Beef was bone dry and not that great at all. I’ve eaten better beefs from hole in the wall places. I’ll never be going here again with so many other places to eat at.

I wish there was one of these in the city! I grew up in Arlington heights and every time I go home to visit my parents I have to go here. I get their cheese burger and fries and honestly, choose this over portillos(if you are from Chicago you know that means it’s good). They must treat their staff well because it is always the same people there for years which means they are doing something right. This place has yet to disappoint me in 10+ years. Is one of my favorite places. Another bonus? Their pizza is amazing. Bonus #2? They will deliver! I found that out about a year ago. Now if only they opened one of these downtown… life would be complete.

One of the better hot dog /Italian Beef places around. Not the fastest, but usually worth the wait.

When you’re in Chicago, you’d best bring your best beef… Tore & Luke’s is eh… I just found the beef to be really dry and lacking flavor. I ordered a combo so I got to try it with the italian sausage and that was pretty decent, but nothing spectacular also. On the good side, the peppers they put on the sandwich was super hot, much spicier than Portillo’s. The fries here were also awesome, I couldn’t stop eating them and they give you so much! So this is the 2nd time I’ve had the beef and have been quite let down by it both times despite the great reviews. They do claim to be a pizza place, so maybe I’ll have to try that out next, but I think I will avoid the Italian beef the next time around.

Without having to travel many miles this is my favorite Hot Dog/Beef/Sandwich Shop close to me. The even offer a good Muffaletta Sandwich! I think that I now have to order peppers with my beef or sausage, but that’s OK, the beef was good without peppers or giardinara. One order of fries is enough for 3 hungry people, and they are pretty good. There are other versions of Tore’s or Luke’s around. The one on 1960 Palatine Road is the one I am commenting on. I haven’t tried their pizza yet, but that’s another visit. There are other related restaurants around, Wauconda, and either Arlington Hts, or Mt. Prospect. They are a little farther from me, and I haven’t tried them yet.
