This was our second visit to this restaurant. Food and service was excellent. Will definitely return.

We loved this place for many yrs. but now the servers act if they are going to a race and do not care about the customer. The salad bar and soup used to be superb. This was our #1 place to go the minute we hit town. Sadly In last yr and half it has all gone down.

Wow, I have been here several times over the last few years but this last Saturday night was amazing. My friends and I stopped in after a meal for a couple of drinks and had the great pleasure of meeting T… as our bartender. Super friendly and attentive. We never were left wanting for anything and felt like she honestly loved serving us. Understood she was a new addition to the staff, good job for bringing in such an awesome personality. Will be back soon

Stopped in for dinner. Ordered the 12 oz ribeye and the steak was over trimmed. Not sure why my steak looked chopped up but looked strange. Steak tasted pretty good though. My wife ordered the shrimp with pasta dish. Shrimp had tails on and felt this dish would have been better without them. It’s not a finger food chef. Maybe leave a couple on for presentation. Cod was good for my mom and the burger was done right this time for my son. I would recommend the server offer fresh graded parmesan cheese and cracked pepper on all your pasta dishes.

I am a local and have eaten at Boss Hoggs for many years… it was previously Hog’s Breath. Last Saturday night, I ordered a Hamburger and French Fries. The French fries were thin, limp and cold. Also a small amount! The only restaurant in town that I frequent that can’t seem to make larger crispy fries! They really need to take lessons from other restaurants in town!

We had a full rack of ribs, they were more like dry jerky. They were terrible. I believe they might have been left over from a day before. I will never go back.

Just left this place. I have no idea why it doesn’t get better ratings! All the staff was friendly, especially Eleanor our waitress, who rounded up some staff to sing happy birthday to our son. Everything tasted homemade, to include the macaroni and cheese and the hand cut fries. They should advertise the fries as «Boardwalk» style. They were delish. Salad bar was nice, although the cucumbers weren’t fresh, it’s January. They even took the time to cut the veggies to bite size, which is becoming more rare. The blackened salmon my husband had was well seasoned. The cat fish portion was huge and enough for 2. The sauce on the side was excellent. Ambiance was rustic, but it was very clean and nice. I would definitely recommend it, as it seemed to be full of locals, not tourists.

Not the best place for larger parties, four and under not a significant wait time. Host was extremely friendly and spot on with her wait time. Once seated, waitstaff took fairly good care of the drink order, but food order took longer as tables with four or less that were seated after us received food first. Portions were huge and the food was tasty. A little salty for some, but overall good. Bartender was great and you cannot beat $ 2 margaritas.

First time here. Waiter(Jason) was awesome! We ordered the baby back ribs, chicken fried steak and a cheeseburger. The ribs were boiled and then slopped with some BBQ sauce. Awful! Who does that? They need to learn to bbq. The chicken fried steak tastes like it was from A package and then flash fried. Again, awful! Having had many chicken fried steaks, this had to be he worst ever! The cheeseburger ordered med well was past well done and burnt! Horrible experience, will never go back. Cant believe they have been here for so long.

I was not really interested in eating here based on the reviews I had read on Trip Advisor and here but my Mom was like«you can’t believe everything you read«so we tried it. The place was super clean and well lit, spacious and even though it was crowded it was not loud. The salad bar while basic, was fresh and well attended to. I ordered a grilled chicken breast to put on my salad and my Dad ordered a mushroom ½ lb burger medium and it came out cooked to the perfect temperature. Food portions were large for the prices they charged. $ 8.95 for the burger and my salad was $ 9.50. Service was quick, attentive and really friendly. I mentioned to the waitress about the bad reviews and she said that they had a rough year and the original owner is back so things have greatly improved. Definitely go check them out!

As others indicated service was good, food terrible. Steak was tough and tasteless. Sent mine back with no improvement. Couldn’t finish it. Chicken wings tasted old, like leftovers or something. Salad bar okay. Baked potato really good. Not worth stopping in. Much better places in town.

We had dinner on a Monday night. Staff was very friendly. Place was busy. I had the surf & turf special $ 18.95. 4 shrimp coated in lemon pepper-not my favorite seasoning. Ribeye was great, slightly over cooked. Home made mashed potatoes & gravy-excellent. Son had chopped beef steak-med well, it was dry & over cooked. Chicken fried steak was perfect & tasty. Salad bar was very fresh-had cut veggies-great! Waitress was excellent. Extra $ 1.50 charge for loaded potato & Mac n cheese-I don’t get it! Tip-early bird special ends at 6pm. Arrive early for no wait seating-this place gets packed on a week day.

Unfortunately, this place lived up to it’s 2 star rating(well not really). The one star is for the sweet waitress and the delicious salad I made from their salad cart. Two plates we ordered were sent back due to being undercooked. Disappointed

Found this restaurant with my boyfriend and it was good. I enjoyed it. It was clean we went in at almost closing and they had no problem staying for us. Our waitress was friendly and nice.

The food is mediocre and over priced for microwaved food. It was not appetizing and the restaurant needed updating.

Surprised by how good it was. I was here this past winter(2015). I was quite wary about trying Boss Hogg’s due to the poor reviews(i.e., service, cleanliness, food quality) I read here. But we wanted to try something different & my daughter wanted some ribs so we tried it. And, boy, did we enjoy it! CLEANLINESS: It was quite clean. Based on the poor reviews, I was ready to face-off some grime or, at least, fast-food-quality ambience. It was neither. The restaurant had a cabin-y/country charm, with pictures & knick-knacks on the wall. It felt very hearth & home. The floors, tables, & overall interior looked clean. SERVICE: The staff were warm, friendly, & efficient. Again, due to the poor reviews, I expected poor service. From the very first greeting by the host & hostess, we felt welcomed. We had a big group & I expected to wait, especially since the restaurant was packed for a Tuesday night. We didn’t wait long at all(8 mins) & were seated at a big polished wooden table. Our young waitress was a darling. She was cordial & quick & happy to serve us. We felt taken care of. FOOD: Our food got to our table much quicker than I expected for such a large group of us. The food looked & tasted fresh(we’re Whole Foods Market shoppers used to fresh & «clean» food). And they were good-sized portions. I loved their homemade fresh bread & the sweet butter that came with it. I had a buffalo burger(see pic) and it was yummy & cooked medium-rare like I wanted. I had a side salad, where you make your own salad yourself from their salad bar. The raw veggies looked fresh & dewy & crispy. The ranch dressing was decent. My daughter had her ribs with fries & she was satisfied as well. I recommend Boss Hogg’s for those looking for a homey big-cabin atmosphere & big & hearthy good-quality food portions.

Since new owner took back over things went down hill. Fries are terrible, salad bar is bad, potatoes are wrapped in foil and you put your own butter and stuff on it. Chicken fried steak two small premade little things, no more vip discount, you can really just see how cheap they are doing things. You get the same quality food at golden coral crap!

Our waiter was a very nice young man. If it were not for him I would give 1 star Best thing I can say is we should have gone to KFC just down the street. Wilted lettuce, mushy tomato, stale bun and burned meat makes for a sad excuse for a hamburger The iced water was cold and free

Fun little saloon atmosphere. Decent beers on tap but a little disappointing given the availability of great beers in the area. The food was basic with no surprises– which is okay, but… Had a cocktail that was delicious, but I had to hide my eyes from the fact that a major component of it came from a packet of powder. The service was very nice and cheerful even in the midst of a snowstorm. The location and general atmosphere will have me return.
