I went into this Denny’s in Pacifica outdoor mall about a year ago for the first time. Breakfast food you get what you pay for, unless? My stomach started gurgling and hurting. It was now an hour since I had eaten at Denny’s. Maybe it was a coincidence? A couple months go by. It is breakfast again. I order the same thing. About an hour goes by. There it is, the pain! I knew it! I will never ever go back to this Denny’s nor any other Denny’s. Why? Because the food that came out of that kitchen was expired, it had gone bad. But this time I had waited for the manager. Amidst all of the broken English from India, this guy had little to offer me. «Oh, yeah, that is too bad? I know it is not our fault.» Twice, two times, I am served raunchy, expired food. Well it is good to see them shut down for once.

CLOSEDCLOSEDCLOSED as of 12/15/2014 this has closed. I know it’s hard to believe but there was hardly ever anyone in there. So long… all those people out of a job and now Pacifica has no 24 hour eating establishment! What the heck are the kids going to go to act a fool and be kids? Oh well…

What can you say? it’s Denny’s. Excellent for breakfast hangovers and late night, after hours, sober-up and dip-those-fries-in your milkshake dining. Not meant for haute cuisine. :)

Come on people, this Denny’s deserves at least a average 2-star rating! Every time I have been here(3 times previous) their food and service definitely isn’t the worst I have every had. In many respects better than other local breakfast places. To that end here is my current review of my experience on 10/27/2014 My visit to Denny’s this time was for the purpose of comparing to Sunrise Café and Grill. A place I awarded 2-stars to recently. I arrived a little later in the morning this time so the rush was avoided. Even so, thought the place a little to empty. I took a seat at booth and ordered a Grand Slam style breakfast with two eggs over easy, bacon, sausage, hash browns, rye toast, and earl grey tea, and orange juice, and water. Also added a short stack of pancakes. I soon found out they serve only regular tea here so that was a disappointment that I skipped. I quickly had my water and juice served with a smile. The rest of the meal arrived relatively quick as well. The toast was so good that I was devoured quickly. Too quick to make the pics. Two Eggs — Perfect over-easy. Bacon: Typical smaller slices served at Denny’s. Perfectly cooked. Good flavor. Sausage: Typical smaller links served at Denny’s. Good flavor. Hash browns: Nicely done. Not as tasty as some places but still good. Rye toast: Perfectly toasted. Good. Pancakes: A perfectly tasty short stack. Orange juice: Not fresh. But okay as any other bottled juice. Water — Good and cold. Pacifica water is excellent throughout the town. Denny’s is no different. I sound found out they serve only regular te Service was excellent from start to finish. Friendly and well timed. On this visit the TV was working. Still does not have free WiFi. Would like to see wireless networking added to this Denny’s location. Considering the total bill only $ 10.95 the overall value for my experience this time was very good. In comparison i would rate the Pacifica Denny’s at the current time as a better value than the Sunrise Café. Would I send friends in the direction of this local Denny’s? «YES!» After my fourth trip the current stated of this Denny’s makes it a good breakfast place. Especially given the fact its a. chain location. They live up to their corporate image and serve customers well enough to get a 3 or 4 star rating.

I wish I could give this ZERO stars! Close to the most awful meal I’ve ever had! To begin with we waited for almost 5 minutes to be sat when there was only 2 other people in the place at 4:00pm. It took approximately 15 more minutes after being sat for a waitress to come over. She never greeted us and then proceeded to say«ok lets start with your drink orders» and pointed her pen in our faces as she demanded our order. The food took an eternity to get and the hash browns tasted like a dirty kitchen rag smells! My friends grilled sandwich was not edible and we returned it. The supervisor wreaked of old cigarette smoke. The sodas we ordered tasted like bleach. I could go on and on and I normally like Denny’s but this place is a SERIOUSLYDIRTYDIVE!!! I think the health dept. needs to visit this place… just writing this review brings back bad memories and makes me sick to my stomach all over again!

This is my wife and I go to place for weekend breakfast. What can you say it’s a Denny’s. When we go between 8AM — 9AM there is plenty of parking and no wait times. A handful of times we had to wait for about 4 minutes. Veronica & Jeff are our go to servers. They are always helpful and know what we want to order before we sit down. Jeff grabs us coffees and waters knowing we will order that. I don’t have any complaints about the food it’s always been up to expectations.

Great place to sober up after leaving the bar. I highly suggest the quesadilla burger. It was sooooo good. The wait staff was hella cool too. I got greeted and smiled right when I came in the door.

I got pancakes and said NO butter please. My pancakes come out with butter smeared on them. I told the waitress and she took my plate and walked back to the cook. A few mins later when I get the same pancakes back! They just took the butter off of them! They were soggy and gross. And to top it all off I saw the waitress staring at me like waiting for me to eat then or something. I was so mad i just left and had my boyfriend take care of it. He wound up talking to the manager and we did not have to pay for them. The only good thing that came out of that. Rude service. Don’t go here.

Don’t come here. Just don’t. As bad or worse than the last time I went. The server was inattentive, and questioned our orders — not checked to see if they were right, but checked if we crazy for what we ordered. The place is dark and dingy. I’m not sure how that’s possible. The ceiling is a messy water stained thing. It makes the food unappetizing to look around. Someone either fix the management here, or put this Denny’s out of its and my misery.

Update: 21 Aug 2014. I took a break for a while and Denny’s seems to have changed the staff around. It’s gone back to being a good value restaurant. Nothing spectacular but good prices for what you get. Service has not been a problem, but I have avoided weekends. Hopefully things will stay on track. Original Review: This Denny’s has gone downhill. I used to really enjoy taking my kids there as I thought everybody liked it and I always thought it was good value. In the past 6 months there has been issues with poor wait times due to inadequate staffing and to a certain extent rude service. I was trying to overlook this as I think every business can go through a bad time. Yesterday was the final straw. I took my two children in there after school for an early dinner. My «greeting» in the waiting area was from somebody that was certainly homeless and was asking me for money. The wall of stench was unbelievable. When the hostess tried to seat us she said it had to be in a certain area. I asked to be seated on the opposite side of the restaurant to avoid the stench emanating from the waiting area, but I was told«no». I picked a table I thought was adequately far enough away, about 25−30ft. At this point my son had gone to use the bathroom and I see the homeless man lingering nearby as if he is going to use the bathroom. Now I’m just staring at him as I will feel compelled to go do security check on the bathroom(while my son is there) if he goes in to use it. At this point the waitress asks the homeless gentleman if he will be eating and they begin bartering over what he can get for $ 2.17, the extent of his panhandling for the morning I suppose, which he sure didn’t get from me. When my son comes out and sits down he simply asks, «what is that smell» as he is oblivious to the state this individual. This whole time I tried to ignore the smell that at even at this distance was overwhelming… because I COULDNOT sit on the opposite side of the restaurant. I’m serious, I have smelled homeless before but his guy took it to an entirely new level. At this point my appetite was completely gone. The crayons had hardly touched the kids menus before I gathered my family and left to get Chinese takeout. Had I seen a floor manager I might have talked to him. They should have kicked the homeless guy out merely for the hygiene problem, and certainly for panhandling INSIDE the waiting area. The staff should have clear instructions that this is unacceptable. I won’t be returning to this establishment for a long time to come…

It’s a Denny’s. This place gets pretty packed on the weekends, ie, the only time I will ever go to a Denny’s, but it’s not terrible. Food is about the same as every kind of Denny’s, though it is nice to have such a convenient roadside location. As for the service, yes, the hostess/manager could do a better job seating, but as we came here on Christmas Day, I don’t feel like I should dock them until maybe a second review. 3⁄5 stars, same as any other chain diner.

no greeting when we walked in, and then seated right by the door when it was freeeezing outside and there were plenty of other tables available. when our server walked up to our table to take our order when we were ready she didnt even say anything. literally just stood there. awkward. we got our food in good time. and for some reason i decided to order a steak(why i decided to eat a steak at dennys, i dont know) which is actually why im giving this place more than one star because the steak was damn good! the cheddar mashed potatoes, on the other hand, tastes like some sort of weird, out of the box powdered mashed potatoes mixed with cleaning solution. and never have i ever had shredded cheese sprinkled on my mashed potatoes. at least melt that shit. oh and points for having vanilla dr. pepper! wish i could add a half star for that.

We had just gone surfing(and thus starving) and were in a rush so we thought Wendy’s would be perfect. Unfortunately, we were treated with the worst and slowest service any of us had ever received. The food was on par with the service but we knew what to except on that front. Our waitress did not take our order for about 20 minutes and kept trying to trick my non-english-speaking friends to order extras by speaking really fast. Our food took another 20 minutes to arrive but the kicker was that our waitress rushed us to pay the bill because«my shift is over and I don’t want to work any overtime». She actually made us pay halfway through our meal! She actually examined every receipt to look at her tips(or lack thereof) one by one right at the table. Nice manners! Needless to say, we weren’t in a very giving mood. Never again!!!

I don’t understand the low reviews because I have been coming here for 7 years now and it’s always clean, fast and friendly service and the food is top notch. I think the problem is the snobs that come to this area for the beach. This is the only place that I have never in 7 years received bad service or bad food.

Four stars for service, two stars for food. My husband and I had our first date at a Denny’s long, long ago. So, the chain holds a bit of nostalgia for us. We visited the Pacifica location for breakfast recently, and I was reminded why we almost never eat at this chain. I hadn’t been to one in years. Not much has changed! My husband had a French Slam and I got the Moons Over My Hammy with grits. I think my husband liked his meal, because it disappeared quickly. Mine didn’t go so well. The grits were very watery, so I didn’t have more than a few bites. The breakfast sandwich was decent, though the bread was a little soggy. The best thing about this particular Denny’s is the staff. Every person we encountered was cheerful and helpful. Service was quick. Too bad the food didn’t measure up.

It is a Denny’s. It isn’t very much worth reviewing. We have all been to one and we tend to know what it is and what it isn’t. Denny’s is a place to eat when my neice begs us to go or a late night druken stuper of hunger. the good: + it is consistant + what I order is pretty simple and the waiters and waitresses tend to get it without any problem, even with phone orders to go + they are super friendly as most people are to locals the bad: — it is overpriced, denny’s is not fine cuisine and being charged that much just doesn’t justify it most of the time — their to go box is just full of useless waste All in all its an ok spot but i dont do this often

It was either eat at the McDonalds a block from this place, or have a look at Denny’s $ 4,$ 6,$ 8 menu. None the less, I choose the lesser of the 2 evils in my opinion and settled on Denny’s. The restaurant was not to busy when I walked in at 11:45 am and sat at the bar. The waiter was an Asian guy very happy to see me, always smiling as he served me. I was looking for a good breakfast… after looking at the 4,6,8 dollar menu, which is a joke. There were no breakfast meals on the menu. Trash the breakfast idea and go for the lunch menu… noting happening there either, what to do! I decided on, get this… chicken noodle soup! Yep! I played it safe, and it was for the best. They serve the soup with garlic bread and it was all good. Soup good, bread good. Water was good too! I got out of there with no worries about eating heavy Denny’s food. So I would have to say I would recommend the Chicken Noodle Soup!
