It took them quite a while to bring me a simple Chef’s Club Salad — and it wasn’t even busy. I’m talking 15 minutes. I got the«large» and it was by no means large. Paid $ 7.99 for what id consider to be slightly larger than a side salad at most restaurants. It was alright, nothing special. Won’t be coming back here any time soon. :(

Billy, the owner of Ben’s on the Square pours his heart and soul in to every product he creates. He has an extensive knowledge of the ingredients he uses. This makes for amazing food and excellent coffee. Visit Ben’s on the Square in Ozark ASAP! (I had the Jalopy sandwich today and it was incredible!)

Everything we had was very good. I had the roast beef they called the zippy do dah. My husband loved the chicken salad and or grand daughter really liked the cheddar and broccoli soup. Coffee very good. Only seats about 30 at capacity. Didn’t have room for pastries.

Amazing Sandwich Joint in Ozark Ordered the Capone. Incredible sandwich. My wife loves it as well. They put a lot of thought and care into each thing they make. Love the atmosphere. Definitely plan to go again.

This place is absolutely adorable and the food is delicious! I had the roast beef sandwich. It came with a perfect horseradish sauce. Amazing.

One of my favorite lunch spots in ozark! The hot Capone is incredible, their coffee is delightful and their iced drinks are awesome as well! I am giving them four stars for two reasons 1. I really loved the twice baked potato salad and so did everyone else I have ever talked to about bens. 2. After new owners the prices went up a little, it’s not unreasonable by any means(especially for the quality of the food) but I would like to see a lunch plate with full sand which, soup, chips, and a drink instead of paying for each individual item. Just a personal preference. Overall one of my favorite restaurants in town! Oh and an awesome downtown brick and mortar atmosphere! Update: The owner actually took time out of his day to reply to my only concerns and I stand corrected. This is the kind of ownership and customer service that makes me change a review from a 4 to a 5. As long as you keep the hot Capone I’ll always be a loyal customer ;) cheers!

They offer delicious coffee, sandwiches, and the service is great! The owner, Billy, is always happy to talk to me about the coffee beans he’s using and his process. All of this wrapped up into a great atmosphere!

Delightful! We were in Ozark on business and our appointment was delayed. Decided to eat at another place but“closed on Mondays” and then we found Bens! Cute up cycled décor, 40s music softly playing in the background and the café was as clean as a whistle. The food was tasty, although the portions were a bit small for the price. But when you consider this is a local business adding life into the community, it is worth the price. Parking was easy on the square, cute tables on the sidewalk and the owner in a Fedora! Bens is the cat’s pajamas!

The owner went out of his way to make you feel special, even if this was your first visit. In fact, everyone was polite, helpful, you felt welcome, and they did a good job with everything we ordered, and were very accommodating with our special requests. The place was very well set up. We had plenty of room. Coffee was good, as were our muffins. We wished we were hungry, because the sandwiches were good looking in the pictures, and by description. Great little coffee shop.

What a little hidden gem in Ozark! I’m super impressed. I went in and ordered lunch to go. I spent several minutes looking over the menu and the girl at the register and the owner were both extremely kind and helpful. I ordered a cup of soup and half sandwich combo. The soup of the day was tomato florentine. Absolutely delicious, steaming hot and nice serving size. I had the club sandwich and i can’t say enough about how incredible this sandwich was. Turkey, ham, bacon, 2 different cheeses, mayo and lettuce. It was so fresh and excellently hand-crafted. I was originally most excited for the soup but once i started on the sandwich, i couldn’t put it down. Also served with a pickle and a small side of bread of some sort– it appeared to be handmade. Very good! The atmosphere was very nice. Beautifully decorated and kept that old downtown architectural theme. I cannot wait to go back and I’m sad i waited this long to try it out in the first place. I love supporting small businesses and this one will definitely have me as a regular.

Ben’s is truly the only option for good coffee in Ozark but their coffee really is excellent, which is rare for a small town. The staff is friendly and the new owner is always there making sure customers are pleased. Overall a great place to have latte with a friend in downtown Ozark.

Absolutely love Ben’s! Their sandwichs are way better than Panera’s by a long shot. The drip coffee is always fresh and has an excellent taste. The staff is always friendly and very helpful. Now they will start delivering to the ozark downtown area. I have taken clients to Ben’s for meeting and have turned each and everyone of them on to them and now they are repeating customers.

Great place to visit with friends over a cup of coffee. Nice sandwiches and coffee selection. I’ve been to Ben’s about twenty times over the past year and a half. It can get a little crowded and hard to find a table during the typical busy times(lunch).

I’ve tried Ben’s several times. I like the simple sandwiches and salads. The potato soup is good, too. My fave is the BLT sandwich. My kids love that he serves potato skins chips with the sandwiches. The Chai tea is delicious and I stop and get one when I’m on the square in the morning.

Ben’s is my go-to spot in Ozark for getting together with friends/clients for coffee, lunch dates with hubby, and easy dinner with the fam on Wednesday(during the farmer’s market) and Friday nights. In addition to a nice selection of soups, salads, and sandwiches, they also have hand dipped ice cream and an ever-changing selection of baked goods. My favorite menu item is the Dippity-Do-Dah, which is just as much fun to eat as it is to say. They also have the best iced chi latte that I’ve ever had. The ambiance here is nice too, but if they’re busy, the seating can get a little tight. The owner, Jared, is almost always there, and in general the staff is friendly and accommodating.

The chicken salad is sweet! Being from a big city, I’m spoiled by my choices in good food. While exploring Ozark on vacation, we stumpled across this little coffee house. The décor was fun to look at without being too overpowering. The service was friendly and the food was decent. For a semi-small town, I can see why there’s 5-stars across the board, but for me it was just A-Ok. Hopefully they continue to grow and keep improving. We’ll be back if in the area!

Never had the coffee, but it’s an ok place for what it is. Nothing special about the menu with sandwiches and a few salads and soups. Yet for what it is, we like and visit often. Very affordable and a neat little downtown place. Had the BLT and potato soup and both were good.

My first instinct was to say this little coffee shop/deli combo is surprisingly excellent, but there’s really nothing surprising about it; Ozark is teeming with local culture, especially in the category of antique shops. Holy wow — there are a LOT of antique shops. That being said, I stopped in at Ben’s a few days ago to have a snack and do some work before hitting up some of said antique shops to look for a retro bookcase. In the hunt for a bookcase I was unsuccessful, but in the hunt for a tasty lunch? Successful! I ordered a soup and sandwich combo, which played out on Ben’s menu much like Panera Bread’s: there are special sandwiches and simple sandwiches, and if you pick the combo, you get to pick a simple sandwich for the posted price. The soup of the day was cream of asparagus, and it was wonderful — an enticing mint green, velvety smooth, and with just the right amount of asparagus chunks. For my sandwich, I ordered the ham and cheddar sans mayo on wheat. It, too, was about as wonderful as a cold ham sandwich can get — the ham was paper-thin, which is truly a beautiful sight for people who like meat. The lettuce and tomato was fresh. Simple, yes, but not without flavor and quality — I wish I could have had a sandwich this good packed in my school lunch every single day as a kiddo. The aesthetic was equal parts rustic and cozy; the lady who took my order was a total sweetheart; and the prices were fair. Oh, and they sell PT’s Coffee, which was a nice surprise. On my way out I ordered an iced coffee to go and got a free cookie! The cookie was super tasty, and not just because it was free(because let’s face it, most free cookies are tasty on principle). If you’re a Springfieldian who could use a mini day trip about 20 minutes south to Ozark, it’s well worth your time to find a parking spot on the picture-perfect square and pop in here for lunch.
