Service was great but the minced chicken salad had a weird smell to it and the salad had way too much lemon in it beyond edible

Great food and great atmosphere. I usually pass this place up going from place to place at the National Harbor. But I decided to stop in one Sunday afternoon for a meal. Great host great staff great food you will enjoy

Had the lunch special, it was better than your average Thai place, but compared to the other restaurants in the harbor, I would say below average. The service for my table also wasn’t great, had to ask for more water more than once.

My family and I had lunch here before exploring the ICE sculpture show at the Gaylord. We were surprised at how delicious the dishes here are. Service is really good. Plenty of seating and nice aesthetics. We ordered the panang curry with chicken, chicken pad see ew, and mixed vegetables. The panang is so delicious and creamy. I highly recommend this dish!

Food is just fine, service is pretty terrible. I do not recommend going with a group of people. They didn’t have our reservation, and when we showed them the e-mail confirmation, they blamed the owner(?!) for not telling the staff there was one. Thankfully our group was a bit smaller than the reservation, and they were able to find just enough space for us. They brought a couple of carafes of water, but never came around to refill them. They refused to split the check. I have zero patience for restaurants that claim they simply can’t split the check — this is a lie and indicates laziness/stubbornness — and that goes to negative patience for a business that obviously is catering to business/conference travelers, who *of course* need to be able to split the check and take home an individual itemized receipt. There is also an angry sign at the host stand saying that there will be a $ 20 fee for a carryout order that you decide to eat at a table?! This seems like they really *want* to be unwelcoming. I ordered the chicken pad thai and veggie spring rolls(boring, I know, but I like what I like), and they were good, not great, especially for the price. If you are eating alone or with just one other person, it’s probably a fine place to go(especially if you aren’t the one ultimately picking up the check).

This restaurant was listed as one that offered a discount to the attendees of the conference I was in town for. When I asked about it, the manager told me the offer was expired. I told him the conference had just started that day, and in that case, he told me the discount was buy 2 entrees and 1 appetizer, get another appetizer half off. Cashew chicken was pieces of deep fried chicken, which I found unusual. It was otherwise ok. My husband’s dish was some sort of beef stirfry which had a much better flavor. Seems that this is one of only a few Asian themed restaurants in the immediate area, and certainly seemed like it hit a lesser price point than the high end Chinese place.(Although, $ 4/soda is a bit high). With that said, I don’t think it’ll blow you away, but it was an alright place.

This is a cute place. Eclectic. Great atmosphere. Great place for an intimate conversation. I’d come here for Valentine’s Day! Cocktail was on point. Service is exceptional. Staff is friendly. Love it!(10÷4÷2015)

The food is great and lunch special is affordable and healthy. You got egg drop soup, egg roll, and an choice of an entrée from the lunch special menu. Food comes out good and fresh. However it’s the service that I’m little concerned about. You don’t really get greeted at the door, they just grab menu for however many people walk in and they just walk in front of you assuming you’ll follow them. They’re not attentive throughout the visit and water glass stays empty for a while until someone comes to refill it. But they bring the check and charge your card in 2 seconds…

First impression so far is pretty good. Well decorated, kinda dark, but looks good overall. I appreciate the modern look and how all the furniture matches. Got the duck rolls for appetizer. They were pretty good! They say two pieces but it’s more like one cut into two pieces. The«asian tortilla» not sure how to say it in English, was good. It was kinda like a Beijing roast duck sandwich, with that white semi circle and sauce with green onion. Still good. The food was pretty good. I was a little surprised that they didn’t ask us for a spicy level as many thai restaurants do. It turned out fine for me since I’m a little more tolerant of spicy. Husband struggled just a wee bit. Got curry with beef and pad Thai with pork. Curry came out in a HUGE bowl and small bowl of rice. Good flavor but wish it had a little more flavor. Like, it has the curry flavor, slight coconut flavor, but not much else from that unless you’re eating actual ingredients. In the curry there was eggplant, bamboo, green beans, and these peppers which I promptly removed to prevent them from making it spicier! I think the curry portion could have fed me for 2 – 3 meals, I’d just cook more rice for it, but I’m visiting from out of town so I didn’t bring anything home. Pad Thai was good, came with an egg! I love eggs! If I were a local I think I’d go back every now and then. Nice place to try since there’s no other thai place nearby I think. A little expensive.

I was in town for work again and we had dinner here one night. It was as good as it was on my first visit. It was not very busy on a Monday night so we got seated right away. We started with the chicken satay and duck rolls. Both were very good, not too spicy. For my entrée, I had the PIKKHING — chicken red curry with green beans. It was very flavorful but not too spicy. My colleagues enjoyed their meals as well. Definitely a great spot to try if you are in National Harbor and want something different.

Some of the best Thai food I’ve eaten anywhere in the country. I was expecting some crappy food at this tourist-trap faux-city of National Harbor, but I was pleasantly surprised. Food was well prepared and had good flavor and prices were reasonable, especially considering the area is full of crappy and over-priced restaurants. Thai Pavilion is a good choice!

I have been here many times before. It’s one of my faves for Asian cuisine. The staff is always gracious and kind. They provide professional, attentive service with a smile. The ambiance is quite typical for an Asian restaurant. Nothing out of the ordinary here. The place is quite clean and tidy with the typical décor one would expect to find in any Asian restaurant. The food is always prepared in adequate portions and at the right temperature as to be ready for eating immediately at service. Their dishes are moderately priced but they use real seafood so you get great value for your hard earned dollars. The presentation is rather lovely and inviting as to provide a treat for the eye as well as a feast for the senses. The portions are such that you should have enough to take home if you so choose or you can share with a friend, if you’re into that sort of thing. I would definitely recommend this establishment not only for it’s cuisine and staff but it’s location. After dining you can stroll the National Harbor and enjoy the goings on and numerous shoppes as you inconspicuously burn off those calories! My only critique is parking. Parking is expensive and can be difficult to find along the streets. It is not the fault of Thai Pavilion, but be prepared to pay a mini fortune to park for a short visit.

Maybe it is b/c it is in a huge tourist area… where is the flavor? When at a thai place you figure that your meal will be a trip of spices while you eat. Sadly not here… Just some noodles, brown sauce and chicken. Sad…

This was my first time here and I ordered the pad ke Mao. The food wasn’t bad but I would describe the food as mediocre at best. I was disappointed with the noodle to vegetable ratio on this plate which was mainly just noodles. The sauce was also very unevenly distributed and was very overpowering towards the middle of my plate where most of it was concentrated. However the service was great and the décor was absolutely beautiful inside and out. This was my first time visiting the national harbor and to be honest this is not a restaurant that I would return to on another trip.

Thai Pavilion is a average venue for Thai food! The location is Premium and the Thai could use more authentic seasonings rather than the american version being offered at this location. Upon the opening of the venue years ago until now something has changed. I’m not sure if it’s management or the need to adapt to the environment. There’s a big change from my first visit to this last visit. The sushi isn’t authentic and the décor is due for an upgrade. Over the summer I will return to give this another look. You will be able to find something on the menu that will give you some taste Thai. Authentic Thai would be something other than Pad Thai or Drunken Noodle. Authentic Thai would engage your taste buds with a real deep flavor and I wasn’t able to find this during this visit.

It’s a good place to dine in. Located in close proximity of national harbor(one of my favorite places in DC). Staff is good and welcoming. This is the state of the art Thai food with excellent and authentic Thai flavors I and my wife are a great fan of Thai food. We ordered green curry and drunken noodles. They didn’t have Red curry for some reason. We made it super spicy as both of us have high threshold for chillies. All came out good. She tried an Emerald drink which was ok. Parking could be one issue of the time is busy. One thing I didn’t like about this place which can be easily ignored is — their inability to tackle stress when they get busy otherwise all is well. Do try, recommend highly !

I celebrated the 2015 Suksan Wan Mae”() «Mother’s Day» at Thai Pavilion. I was expecting the prices and the friendly customer service. However, I was pleasantly surprised at of the TASTY food ! We ordered: — Crab fried rice — Calamari — Steamed dumplings — Pad Thai — Fried Soft Shell Crab — Fried Flounder My favorite was the soft shell crab since its not everyday I eat custacean(s) ! The flounder was so bigger than the typical norm seen at other Thai restaurants. Everyone had a good time especially(Mæ) aka Mom.

Got to eat here twice while attending Katsucon at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center and was not disappointed. Sat at the bar both times to get immediate seating as the restaurants first floor was busy even during off hours. During my first visit I went with Sushi, an Eel Roll and Crunchy Spicy Tuna. Eel was good as expected but I was surprised with the Crunchy Spicy Tuna. Whatever sauce or combination they used to prepare the Sushi was excellent because it had FIRE. Visit was an enjoyable in and out Sushi stop. Went back for a second visit and ordered the Phrae Pad Mee Shrimp. Shrimp were nicely done without a strong flavor. Carrots and peppers were flavorful. The noodles were plentiful with a subtle flavor. Service was not as fast on this visit, but it was still the best meal I had while in National Harbor. During one of my visits they had live music, it was not bad. Thai Pavilion is one of the best places to eat in National Harbor and I look forward to returning.

I came for a late lunch after a day of shopping at the nearby outlets. We ordered the kanom jeeb, which are dumplings with crabmeat and pork. They were average — I’ve ordered this from several Thai restaurants and this was not nearly as good as the others. For my entrée I ordered one of the salads which comes with a soft shell crab on top. Now this was good! The crab was perfect and the dressing with the salad was really tasty. The salad itself was very fresh and had plenty of cilantro. This entrée wouldn’t normally fill me up, but i was saving room for dessert :). For dessert, I had the sticky rice with coconut ice cream. This was great as well. The ice cream had tons of pieces of toasted coconut in it. We also had a bottle of the moscato which was really good. I thought the food was great, so the only reason I’m deducting stars is for the service. We tried ordering an additional appetizer after we initially put in our order, and then asked to cancel it. Our waitress said it that was fine and she would take it off. However, it still came out with our entrees. We still ate it so we were going to let that one slide, but then we had an issue again when we ordered a dessert. Our waitress brought us a completely wrong dessert. Maybe if she wrote down our orders they would have come out correctly and we wouldn’t have had to wait. The waitress was also very slow. She didn’t really come to check on us and it took forever to get the check. Also this place is overpriced in some aspects. $ 4 for a soda?! And they limit you to only one free refill. And the special rolls of sushi were $ 18-$ 20. Not sure if I could justify paying that much. But I will give them credit for the décor. There were two levels and both were very well decorated with Thai art. This would be a great place for a special event or a date.
