Exceptional flavor + Mediocre customer service & items in stock = an A-Ok rating. Ordered some prepared meat from the meat counter, which they do on the spot if you do not call ahead, which turned out delicious! Big hit @ the day’s barbecue. However, while waiting for the meat, we sauntered on over to the other side for some food. They have an extensive menu, so we thought about it some time and by the time we were ready to order, there was no one around. Boo… So we finally find the cook and begin placing our orders. Turns out the only thing they had in stock were the burritos. Hmm. Okay… could have mentioned something after we stood there for 10 minutes debating on what to get, but we went with that. The cook then proceeded to order some meat from the meat counter, so it was freshly prepared. Also very savory. Did not skimp on the taste at all and the beans were unlike anything I have tasted before. Positive points for innovation! This place is technically a corner-type grocery store, so they also had grocery essentials in there, though I wouldn’t go shopping for my next meal there. Maybe just to stock up on some milk on the way home.

The fresh tortillas that La Rancherita uses to make their tacos and burritos gives them a leg up over the food made at other local restaurants. I found the meat to be a little tough with an inferior flavor to that of some others, but the flavor of the tortilla made up for it. I tried 2 small asada tacos and a burrito de barbacoa. The sauce on the burrito meat was superb.
