This place is great they have one of the best horchatas around and the Maranita torta is delicious definitely one of my regular spots and conveniently next door is a panaderia

La Palapa always provided a good torta in the past for me. Jamon, pavo, asada, pastor, you name it. Any one of them would be a good choice and was at a decent price. You got a monster of a torta for under $ 7. I stopped going when I noticed quite a few flies buzzing around the area where they prepared the food. The door is always left open and discovering them on the VC Enviromental Health department restaurant temporary closure list just prevented me from ever eating here again. The practice of safe sanitation is really questionable here. Eat at your own risk!

Wow. They raised their menu prices. Same quality of food, same restaurant only more expensive. Sure, they got a fancy menu display mounted on the wall, but tortas for $ 10? Plus the drinks?!? Come on. Aside from the prices, their customer service was awful. Two women were working,(not very busy) weekday afternoon, why so rude? I think that will be the last time I go.

I went to this place in the past and had a very good horchata. I went back today and ordered two horchatas and both were terrible. The tasted pretty much like foamy milk and were barely cool. What happened!!! Go to Arco Iris on Oxnard Blvd. for a real horchata.

Great tortas that are very generously portioned. But they are always short staffed, the cooks have to work hard and do double duty back and forth from the register to the kitchen which leads to long waits(up to 10 mins) in a short line. Food keeps this place at 4 stars, but the recent price increases…($ 7.xx torta) might deter some to go just down the street to the many Mexican Places in El Rio.

This place was pretty lousy the tacos were extremely oily. Would never be back, the Torta was nasty as well. Would not recommend. I did not get a chance to try the Smoothies.

If you haven’t tried the horchata here, you haven’t lived life! The food is delicious, from the warm tortas to the shrimp cocktails! Great little mom and pop spot. 4 stars only because they need to work keeping tables clean.

I always come here for the fruta energetico even if sometimes they are out of ingredients and they don’t tell you till you get your order. Poor costumer service, I called for a Togo order I was on hold for 15 min. I got to the place and told the lady if she forgot she had me on hold. And she didn’t know what to say. I love the energetico but they really need to invest some time on costumer service and better management.

I just paid $ 12.41 for a torta de jamon and an horchata. Wow… that’s pretty damn expensive! Their menu doesn’t even have the prices on it… shady. If I had seen that the regular size horchata was $ 4.99 I sure as hell would not have ordered it. But, like I said, there weren’t any prices. Don’t even ask about the customer service because that is non-existent. Not going back ever.

Restaurant needs a new manager. Starting with customer service. .there was none. No welcome or thank you. Lady who took my order look like she had somewhere better to be. But, the most important, and disappointing was the meat. The carne asada torta we got was oiling and clearly reheated from the day prior. The torta de alpastor tasted like it was marinated with just lemon. MEATWASNOTFRESH. Never going back.

I was on a mission for ceviche. I drove from Camarillo to El Rio on my lunch hour for this place. It was absolutely worth every delicious bite. They give you so much ceviche on one tostada, they give you a second one.

This place has lost a bit of the service they once had with it’s rise in popularity due to word to mouth and over zealous Unilocalers. The daily baked bread makes up for the warming of pre-cooked meat in a microwave. Tortas made here are average. It’s a great value when you have time to wait 10 minutes to initially place your order. If the owners added more staffing I might be apt to add a star to my rating. Come for the tortas and stay for the blaring Banda music from a boombox with shot-out speakers.

This place has the Best Tortas, Best Tostadas, and great fruit drinks. The meat never has any fat. They grill the sandwich panini style. The juice is made with fresh fruit and is always refreshing. Everything around $ 5 Bux!!!

Well for all the people that say this place is Better than Jungle Juice! What the heck are you thinking! Definitely not worth it, where do i even begin! The place is dirty, the tortas were way smaller and not great! Drinks, yea they may have variety but whats the point if there is no quality! The presentation of the everything over all was terrible, including the service, i should have make the shakes myself! The place said everything with the way it looked, terribly dirty! Need i say more! This place definitely doesn’t top Jungle Juice! The only reason i gave it one star was because zero wasn’t an option for me! If you want a really good torta GO to JUNGLEJUICE!!!

La Palapa Juice Bar should actually be called La Palapa Torta Bar! They’re tortas are the best… okay, their juices and smoothies are great as well. This little known place is great all around. It is pretty small but it doesn’t take anything away from it. If you don’t know what a torta is go eat there now and find out! ;)
