Food is fantastic! Not my type of vibe, but excellent tasting food. My wife said she was in heaven. Caldo out of this world. Great salsa!

Authentic Mexican Food at it’s finest! I love the interior décor, like the red booths and the paper sign above the back door when you enter through the alley that reads something like this, «this building is not earthquake safe, enter at your own risk.» Fun place to take out of town visitors!

Cielito Lindo is a nice sit-down Mexican restaurant right on Oxnard Blvd. There is ample parking nearby. I ordered a carne asada burrito and a pepsi… The burrito came wet with warm grilled onions, ortega chiles, melted cheese and cold lettuce, avocado and sour cream on the outside. Inside the fresh, tasty tortilla was well-prepared meat with excellent flavor. It may have been a tad too salty for my taste. The chips were not freshly-made, nor were they stale. The salsa was simple: tomato, onion, cilantro, jalapeño. It could have been a little more runny. The pepsi was a little watered-down. The refill was not. The atmosphere was pleasant. The seating comfortable. I asked them to play some Vicente Fernandez or Los Tigres del Norte. They played something. I wouldn’t recognize Los Tigres or Vicente anyway. There were pencil-sketches of both artists on the wall. There is a bar on the other side of the restaurant. The owner was sitting at the counter with what looked to be his granddaughter. I spoke with him. He seemed very nice. Says he’s owned the place for 7 years. I spoke to a caucasion patron who lives in Ventura(probably in a trailer park judging from the condition of his female companion’s teeth) and drives all the way to Oxnard for lunch at Cielto Lindo with some frequency. They need a screen door. A fly pestered me and my lunchmate.
