This place has the worse customer service. I went in this morning to purchase a dozen donuts for my daughters field trip. Then I ask the older women to please cut the bars in half. Or if she had a plastic knife I would do it myself. Her response was it wasn’t her job. Then I offered to do it myself if she had a knife I could use. Another smart remark. not my problem. Go do it at home. I told her were leaving on a field trip to s. b and I don’t have a plastic knife. Bottom line I told her that I would not be returning back ever again. Her response was so don’t come back. Pretty sad how a donut shop like hers or whom ever it belongs to has taken up space In Oxnard. Plus it’s filthy in there, dirty counter tops, the floor is covered with dirt and old flour. But yet we’re giving this old mean women our money, loyalty and a spot in the rose center. Get her out and put in a nice coffee shop owned by a family who appreciates it.

This donut shop is a bit scary looking behind the counter. Looks very dirty and it’s quite messy and disorganized. The lady behind the register speaks very limited English, and it was hard to understand her and communicate what I wanted. There was a wide variety of donuts behind the glass, and I got a chocolate old-fashioned donut. It tasted pretty good, surprisingly.

The worst customer service I’ve ever experienced!!! There was no greeting of any kind. I was never asked what I wanted but I got tired of waiting for her to say something so I asked for my donuts, I was never told the amount, I had to look at the register, then my change was placed on the counter. I asked the women if she was the owner she finally talked and said«no, why». I told her, this is the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced and I didn’t think she should work there, her response was, «don’t come back»…No worries, I never will and I’ve told my friends too. Horrible!!!

I’ve popped in a few times and usually after midnight. Their donuts are way too sweet especially the glazed ones, defeats the purpose of the donut for my taste. Late at night there are flies flying around and inside the racks. Donuts are stale and when I request the ones in the front they give me dirty looks. I personally like the freshest. Not my favorite place to go, definitely a last resort.

All I can say is, if you want FRESH donuts come to Calrose. I’ve had my fair share of donuts, especially maple bars. Get the maple bar here. Never have I ever tasted a more perfect donut. Fried to perfection on the outside yet thick, fluffy, and soft all at the same time on the inside. I haven’t been disappointed yet.

I grew up in Oxnard, and have dropped into this donut shop quite a few times in the past. Never had a bad experience… nice owners, delicious and fluffy donuts, and reasonable prices. I went in for a midnight snack and there were flies in the donut case and they were on the donuts! Completely grossed out and disappointed.

The good– open 24 hrs and its fresh! I walked in close to midnight and the owner was flipping donuts in the fryer as I was trying to decide, cheap! .95 cents for late night snack! The bad– better than the chains but not 4 star worthy, jelly filled donut itself was great but the filling was too commercial plain, chocolate crueller wasnt bad but a bit too sweet, dunno if too sweets allowed in a donut so cant hold it against them. Wouldn’t go out of my way to get here but was convenient location and great hours… That said, I would still come back here.

Their donuts are wonderful. I like going there late at night for a fresh buttermilk donut that just melts in your mouth. I love that they are open 24 hours. They have HUGE apple fritters. Some of their donuts are so big they make you laugh. The guy who makes the donuts takes pride in his work and you can tell when you taste them. Best donuts in Oxnard.

You know, it really is a shame that I have to at LEAST give one star. The little old lady that worked here was way too rude, grumpy, bitter, uneducated,(could not subtract 75 cents. from total), etc. Let’s see, what else. Did not say thank you, OR anything. I think some one had a stick up their pot sticker. To top it off, she did not even give me the right donuts which I clearly pointed to. Come on little old lady… I hate this place. Their donuts look like crap. I wouldn’t come back. Ever.

do you like donuts because you like fried dough covered in frosting? or do you like them because they remind you of your child when you ate everything with sprinkles? Or do you like the buttery taste of the buttermilk bar that isn’t too spongy but isn’t hard like a rock? whatever it is that you fancy, calrose will have them. even humongous donuts that are as big as your face!

Nice variety of donuts and they stay open late like a donut store should. Where else are the cops gonna eat at if donuts are not available… Probably subway next door. haha

I really like this place and what they offer, its reasonable. Also the elderly couple that owns this place are really nice. For the price I pay I think I get some exceptional donuts, plus they always throw in a extra few. I don’t like the chain places because they are a little more expensive and not worth the extra cash in my opinion. Also make sure you bring cash, the only way you can pay.

It’s weird because you find donut stores in the poorer areas more often so you’d think they’d have better ones, but in Oxnard all the good ones seem to be in the more affluent sections. I just had a chocolate chip roll here, but they clearly knew what they were doing. It’s sort of firm and crisp, with a nice frosting. The seating’s a little more plentiful than most donut shops, even with a couple outside, but still a lot less than a normal restaurant. The selection’s pretty standard for a Ventura County donut shop, so they have several varieties of pretty standard types — the sort of fake variety that doesn’t really taste too different. I’d go back here, though, and since it’s 24 hours, I probably will.
