Five stars for the food, two stars for the service. We came in on a weekday for lunch, the place was relatively empty aside from some folks watching the game at the bar. The burgers are excellent, and the loaded potato skins are great, too. To date it’s the best burger I’ve had in Oxford, cooked to order and not skimping on the beef. The fries are great, too, especially the garlic fries. Unfortunately, despite being the only table getting food, our waiter(who I think was also the bartender) only stopped by to give us water, take our order, and bring the food. It may have been that they were understaffed being a weekday. But I always give more credit for food than for service; the best service in the world can’t make up for mediocre food, but here the food definitely makes up for the service.

Foodwise this place is the best in Oxford. Amazing quality, options, and portions. I was skeptical at first but once the food reached our table, all skepticism vanished and mouthwatering desire to eat every last crumb of my grilled chicken Caesar wrap filled my mind.

Our party of six people walked in before a football game for a quick drink. There was only one waitress/bartender working and it wasn’t very busy. The bartender said she would be right with us then proceeded to clean multiple tables and most of the bar. A couple of guys came out from the back a few times looking worried but didn’t help pour drinks or clean up.(I found out later from the bartender that they were setting up from a couple of events in the neighboring bars) After about 30 — 40 minutes waiting patiently at the bar we finally got service from the bartender. She rattled off five unknown types of craft draft beer. There were no mainstream options just 3 IPAs, a red, and a cider. We got 2 pitchers of the Undead red. It was one of the worst beers I’ve ever had and we had two full pitchers of it. We tried to go downstairs where our party of six could sit comfortably. Since there was only one person working we we’re told we couldn’t go downstairs. Everyone choked it down our terrible beer and we walked out extremely dissatisfied. Summary: Waited 40 minutes for crappy and expensive($ 18/pitcher) beer.

Corner Bar is pretty good as far as food goes — their burger melt is out of this world — but NEVER and I mean NEVEREVER order their Garlic fries. Your breath will smell for days and you’ll regret everything. Waffle fries are a fantastic alternative that don’t scare away any potential mates.

I’m so glad that this is what replaced Smokin’ Ox. Mac ‘n’ joes used to be my go to for burgers, but these burgers have dethroned them as best burger in oxford. The Mac ‘n’ Joes burgers have more interesting toppings, but the burgers here are made of good beef and cooked how they should be. Mac n Joes never gets my medium rare order correct. We also had the Mac n cheese and bleu and bacon coleslaw, which were both great. Sausage gravy fries were perfect for satisfying my southern appetite. I am definitely coming back here again. The only reason to go to Mac and Joes now is for wings or salads now.

Ate here on a Thursday night.(Used to be Smokin Ox). Waitress pleasant, but food terrible. Besides taking almost an hour to get, the Mac and Cheese was dried out and tasteless. The other parties sandwiches were ok, but prices high($ 7) for a beer. Seats hard, and service slow, atmosphere lacking, and food tasteless.

Great food. Music isn’t deafening loud. And Kasi works here now! This is excellent news. Get the sausage gravy fries.

This place used to be The Smokin’ Ox. Inside, everything is completely renovated. The new bench seats actually make you want to sit there longer whereas the previous ones in this place’s former life simply wanted you to eat and go ASAP. Our waitress provided impeccable service. The food was great. Nothing to complain about at all.

Great food and mixed atmosphere. Something for everyone. We had a fantastic toasted ravioli for an appetizer and about 40 beer selections lots of wines and the usual selection of liquor and mixers. Big favorite is the Chicken Parmesan sandwich and the Ham and Turkey Panini. Burgers that I saw going by I other tables looked pretty gourmet. They are just getting started but they have some experienced staff. downstairs they have pool and darts and a bit louder student crowd.

The lady and I had been venturing around Oxford looking for a decent after-work bar to hang out in, when we came across The Corner. The waitress was very nice, and they make a good amaretto sour. We decided to pop some money in the jukebox. Well halfway through one of our songs, the bartender sees fit to skip it! I didn’t even know that was possible? Yeah, it was only $.50, but it’s the principle; we, the public, paid to play the whole song. It really soured the rest of the night. I guess our hunt for a bar without immature assholes continues.
