Very good restaurant. Food was good but you pay for it also. I had the flounder with Cajun shrimp. Excellent. Dessert I had lemon blueberry cake with cream cheese icing to go. Very good. Staff was very friendly and knowledgable.

I was in Owensboro on business and had to try the only 5 star rated restaurant(per Unilocal) in town. It did not disappoint! The night started with an introduction to the very nice wine and beer list. I was pleasantly surprised to find a Chimay Blue on the menu and was even more surprised to see it delivered in a proper glass! The appetizers all looked delicious, but I held off for the main course. They had a bunch of interesting seafood based entrees, although I chose the beef tenderloin after discussing recommendations from my server — Sherry. I started off with a house salad with the house made tarragon dressing — YUM! This entrée had everything you could want, steak, shrimp, fried green tomato, potatoes and green beans. The complex flavors melded perfectly and I ate almost every bite! Sherry was very attentive throughout the meal, refilling my water and getting more Chimay! Great service! I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting town or just looking for a nice night out. You can walk there from the riverfront. The restaurant was mostly filled with locals celebrating special occasions and meeting colleagues. Dress ranged from very causal(me) to formal for some. Overall, Bill’s was a great place with delicious food and excellent service, definitely worthy of the 5 star rating!

Absolutely Delicious Food! And even more delicious desserts. We had steak tartare, and lamb. They were both excellent. The bread is also out of this world. Would love to go back.

Excellent service. I ordered the Seafood Sheperd’s Pie, which was my first time ever having that dish. The mashed potatoes mixed with seafood actually worked perfectly and was delicious. The pairing with a house salad was unexpected and at the price point, the meal as a whole couldn’t be beat. I am from Columbus and this same meal would have cost me $ 60. Great!

Wow. Did not expect a place like this in a small town in Kentucky. This is the type of place I would expect downtown in a large city. The bread they make fresh in house and is soft and delicious. Had to struggle not to fill up just on it. The salad was pretty good and the dressings are made in house also. I ordered the NY strip and it was amazing. Best steak I have eaten in a long time. The mashed potatoes are real and fresh and taste great. It also came with green beans, I hate green beans, but these tasted good also. At this point I was full but everything including the water was so good I had decided I’m getting a dessert if they serve any. And why yes they did. I chose the Chocolate Avocado Cake. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm so good. If you are near here eat here.

This was my first visit to Bill’s, I had read about it in reviews and a travel booklet. As with all places, I read great and poor reviews. I must say that my experience last evening was very positive. I was seated immediately(without reservation) and provided good and attentive service throughout. I enjoyed a Caesar salad, basket of delicious whole-grain bread, and an entrée of Wreck Fish on a bed of fresh sautéed green beans. All was excellent! The fish, a type of grouper, was perfectly prepared. As well as the green beans — just right. I heard the dessert offerings, but sadly had to pass. After leaving, I had forgotten my cell phone and had to circle back — the moment I entered the restaurant door, the hostess handed the phone to me with a big smile. When I am next in Owensboro, I will definitely return to Bill’s!

Lunch today was prefect. From the moment you walk in to the point of departure is Blue ribbon, food, service, environment! So proud of this 5 star restaurant in Owensboro! Now we don’t drive to Louisville for class act.

Well. I never thought I would make it to the heavenly gates of St Peter. I witnessed today that the Seafood Shepherd’s Pie is nothing short of divine. I can’t think of anything else that would provide a yearning soul redemption than a ramekin with mashed potatoes, mushrooms, crab meat, scallops, and red snapper. Great service and food. Thank you for the once in a lifetime experience.

I’ve had dinner here twice now… Both times have been top notch dining experiences. The waitstaff is very helpful — especially in assisting with wine selections. They make it a treat to visit. And the food… This place is as good as, if not better, than some of my favorite restaurants in any major city in America. Menu changes daily and seems to have a balance of sea and land options. Though I’ve gone seafood both times and it was amazing. Hats off to Bill and his crew.

Delicious! Been here twice now and every time it’s awesome. Great service, great drinks, casual atmosphere with amazing food well prepared and very tasty! We started with fried green tomatoes as an appetizer, along with Grey Goose Martini’s. Entrees were — flounder with shrimp étouffée, and a sea bass with coconut and lime sauce(spicy)…MOUTHORGASM!!! We highly recommend this restaurant. An awesome gem in Owensboro.

Visited Bill’s for the first time last week and was very pleased with everything about the experience. The interior is decorated very well, the service is pretty good, and the food was excellent. The calamari dish was to die for! For my entrée, I had the Virginia flounder. Very well prepared and tasty. They have a fairly extensive wine list, went with a Zinfandel, but I can’t speak to their cocktails or beers. Bill’s is a keeper.

I asked for the Chilean Seabass prepared In a masala curry sauce. Since I like spicy I asked the waitress to «make me cry». Little did I know they’d be tears of joy. My meal started with the house salad with homemade blue cheese dressing; smooth creaminess with the characteristic blue cheese bite. When my entrée came I pulled off a piece of my perfectly cooked fish and was met with all the spice and flavor I could ask for. Excellent! I ate all the dish and sopped up the spicy masala sauce goodness with the artisan bread. To cap it off I ordered the crème brûlée for dessert and got to savor the seductive taste of vanilla paired with the toasted sugar such that I found myself reminded of the taste of perfectly roasted campfire marshmallows that just melt in your mouth. I also enjoyed their song selection playing in the background. Very impressed. I’ll be back–

First, a disclaimer. I rarely can indentify the ingredients in a dish. If I am blown away by a dish, I ask for details. As was the case with this dish. We each started with a cold asperagus bisque, with tomato purée, and pistachio oil. Soothing to the body and soul. Main course, we both had the Icelandic Turbo. I’m not sure I’ve had Icelandice Turbo before. It had a delightful fleshy texture, not too fishey but neither was it bland. Absolutely wonderful. It was very lightly fried(when dining at Bill’s, I never taste the heavier taste that I associate with fried). It was prepared with aged sherry vinagar, ramps, pearl couscous, and bits of bacon. These flavors blended together perfectly.

Virginia Flounder, Oysters, crab cakes! All were excellent. Nikkie took very good care of us. Atmosphere on the quiet side. Easy for quiet easy going conversation. My guests were very impressed! I’m only here for a day but will be back, and visit Bill’s, later this year!

All I can say is YUM! My husband took me here for my birthday last night and what a good place he chose! The service was friendly, and the owner was actually out in the restaurant talking to patrons. The atmosphere was perfect. The dish I ordered was amazing. It was light and healthy, but oh so good! It was a Chilean Sea Bass breaded in panko pine nut crust. It was served with a spicy, tomato-based sauce on the pasta and green beans. We will be back!

Omg just had one of the best dinners I’ve had in a really really long time. My server Stephanie was awesome she was super friendly and attentive– I was dining alone so this made my experience so much better. I am visiting Owensboro from CA so I wanted to try a new southern style dish– had never tried shrimp and grits so I went on a little adventure downtown and found that only Colby’s and Bill had it on their menu. I decided to go with Bill’s and I am SO glad I did! Ok so I had the starter salad with the apricot vinaigrette, followed by the shrimp and grits, and for dessert the peach cobbler. All were delicious. I literally had to force myself to stop eating because everything was so good. This is my second visit to Bill’s during a visit in town and will definitely be coming back here when I return to Owensboro. Highly recommend this place.
