El Fogon has the best Mexican food in Owasso. I can never find a menu online when I’m away from home, so I uploaded pictures of it for everybody. I don’t have any complaints, service is always great, and the to-go food is always just as tasty as eating there. They have never once left anything out of my to-go order. I always try to order something different every time I go, and I love mixing the spicy salsa with the mild. It’s always great!

What a nice small mom n pop style restaurant. We had about a 5 minute wait. The place was exceptionally clean. Quinine was excellent. Wait staff were excellent, and the food was extraordinary. Best of all there was no music so we could have a lovely conversation. We will definitely become regulars. The only draw back was that they don’t serve liquor.

This place is highly recommended by everyone in my area. It’s suppose to be very authentic and fresh, I just had to give it a try. I called in an order for lunch and found a menu online with reasonable prices, but once I asked for my total the prices were higher then advertise. I asked why and they said that menu was from years ago, then take down that menu… It’s bait and switch. I change my order and once I tried it, I was very disappointed. The food was plain and felt cheated out. I know good Mexican food, I can cook good Mexican food. This was not that

Good food, no full bar though. Kind of tight seating and there can be a wait. That’s because it’s good. If there was a full bar it would be 4 stars.

I liked this place. It has a cozy environment, friendly staff and good food. The prices are a little bit high compared to other places in Owasso but the quality of the food is better. Still not as authentic as I though it will be. We tried the chicken chimichanga which I couldn’t finish because I kept eating their chips and salsa(really delicious). Next time it think I will go for the tacos or any of their seafood entrees(they look more authentic) My husband tried the poblano pepper and he though is was very good although he thinks the poblano pepper tastes better without the flour batter. We also tried the enchiladas and they were good. I believe I will give this place another try.

Not impressed. After hearing about this restaurant, we decided to get out of our usual Mexican food routine and give it a try. Won’t be back. No liquor license… strike one. Queso tastes like ball park cheese… strike 2. No a la carte items… strike 3. Gonna stick to Señor Salsa in Skiatook.

Excellent! The chicken chimi was divine. I have heard nothing but fabulous things about this place and I agree 100%

This quite possibly is the best Mexican restaurant I’ve ever been to. Everybody likes different types of Mexican food– I’m not sure what this would be considered– authentic? It’s not very spicy. But it is so good. As a plus, the waitresses are very nice and the service is fantastic. The food came out pretty quickly both times I’ve been there, and they were fairly busy both times. My husband loves their food as well.

Don’t come here if you want bland Tex Mex. This is very authentic Mexican food, with bright, fresh flavors and some unique dishes. First things first: They make 2 fresh salsas every day, one mild and tasty and the other nice and spicy! We love the spicy one and usually eat about 3 baskets of cops in the 5 – 10 minutes it takes to get our orders. For entrees, some of our favorites(in no particular order) are the Mexico city tacos,(soft corn tortillas served open faced with delicious filling of steak, carnitas or spicy pork and topped with some kind of spicy secret sauce); fajitas(chicken, steak, carnitas or shrimp, the usual presentation, but super delicious), carnitas platter(to die), white enchiladas(ground beef filling with creamy white sauce), shrimp enchiladas(generous amount of shrimp and mushroom filling with super spicy green sauce); spinach quesadilla(delicious filling of cheese, spinach, and mushrooms with a dollop of sour cream and fresh guacamole) chiles rellenos(fat poblano chilies with melty cheese filling, battered and sauteed). These are all served with delicious refried beans and Spanish/Mexican rice. In addition, they have some very special dishes such as molcajete, which is an amazing concoction of cheese, shrimp, chorizo sausage, beans and rice in a cool Mexican dinner bowl. Last night I had a carnitas torta(enormous portion of carnitas on a soft, fresh roll with a super flavorful sauce all over. Sort of a Mexican«au jus» sandwich). So good I almost are the entire thing, and it was about the size of a football. For dessert, the sopapillas and flan are soooo good, but we almost never have room. Downside? One: Beer only. No sangria, no tequila. It gets pretty crowded there on Friday and Saturday nights and I’ve heard of some creative folks who mix a cocktail at home and then drink therm in the car while they wait. It’s not usually a very long wait, but the waiting area is small, so it’s a win-win. We’ve been going about once or twice a week for 4 years.

Just left from eating dinner there and I was pretty disappointed! Won’t be back! I got the fajita burrito and all it seemed to have was rice and beans with dry meat! No flavor at all! Then I got the check and was like nope not coming back!

In a town infested with Mexican food places, El Fogon is a nice change. We have become regulars, and even my picky 11 yr old makes this her place of choice when we eat out. The place is small, to be sure, but wait times aren’t usually a problem. The salsas are great, especially the roasted pepper version. Wish they’d serve that one warmed up, but that’s not a deal breaker at all. The queso is very good, with a nice flavor and texture… not too watery, not too thick. We’ve had several items from the menu, and have yet to be disappointed. The Chile Verde is particularly good, and if you’ve read my reviews, you know that’s sort of a litmus test for me with Mexican places. Service is always great… staff are friendly and on point. Prices are much more reasonable for better food than places like Los Cabos and Ted’s. You’re not paying for garnish and frills at El Fogon… just good, solid food.

Excellent food! My parents brought my husband and I here during our last trip home to Owasso. We loved the food. The margaritas were fantastic too!

The BEST in Mexican Food for 100 miles! Maybe more :)! I can’t believe we waited so long to try this place! The exterior isn’t much but inside the décor is trendy and sophisticated. I’ve had several items on the menu now. The California Enchiladas are one of my favs! Don’t leave without trying the Hot Salsa… made fresh daily! They also have mild but the HOT is an absolute favorite!

Wow. Our first time at this place as on Sunday’s it’s too packed to get in. I was impressed with every single thing. The chips were so fresh and warm. The salsas were awesome. There’s a red and a green, neither were very hot just very flavorful and fresh. I had beef enchiladas. They melted in my mouth, the beef was so tender, spiced perfectly and the corn tortilla was so fresh they must have made them that morning. I got the ranchera sauce, which is a red with chunks of onion and tomatoes cooked in. It was a tad bland but a perfect addition to the enchiladas. My husband had a chili relleno and enchilada. He said it was cooked perfectly and was the best he’d had since he was home in Albuquerque. A light breading on a huge poblano, cooked and peeled, with s mixed cheese stuffing. Great service, awesome food. I can’t wait to go back!

Wife, son, and I just had dinner at El Fogons. We loved the spicy hot salsa! The wait staff was very courteous and we got seated after a couple minute wait during the bust evening rush. All three of us enjoyed our meals. Watchout, the plates come out HoT. The portions are huge! We ended up bringing leftovers home. Good food, good service, fair prices.

some of the best Mexican food in this country. I love this place and the spinach enchiladas are amazing. I also love the guacamole. The salsas are so fresh also! There is something for everyone.

I love their guacamole and the food is always fresh and just down right good. You always have the whole staff checking to make sure you have everything you need. My only complaint is it is a very small place. Which would be fine if people didn’t allow their children to be loud and rude. But that is of course not the restaurant fault. It definitely one of the best places in owasso for Mexican.

My first time eating here. It’s a small place. Not sure about it being wheelchair accessible like it says on the main page for this place, as it is a very small entrance where you go in a door and immediately turn to go through another one. I didn’t see anything stating where the entrance was, so I just guessed which side of the building the door was on and happened to be correct. There’s no waiting area like restaurants usually have, and it’s a very cramped feeling. I ate alone and it took longer to get my food then places I’ve been at with 5 – 6 other people with me, and that’s not good. The food was good, but I overheard them offering queso to other people coming in after me that wasn’t offered to me. Even though someone is eating alone money is money, and that’s why you’re in business. The salsa and chips were different, it’s not the typical salsa I’ve eaten at other mexican restaurants; it was good, but too spicy. Every other mexican restaurant I’ve eaten at has always came by to ask how the food was, and this place didn’t. The waitress also placed the plate away from me and I had to grab it to put it in front of me and she waited till after I did that to tell me the plate might be hot. Other restaurants I have eaten at have always put the plate in front of me stating it was hot while they were putting it down. So the customer service aspect of this place is ok, nothing more. The prices are a little higher but not by much. Overall it’s a good place to eat but so is a million other places. Good/Great customer service is what keeps people coming back, and I won’t be going back.

I very much enjoy their Mexico City Tacos(Spicy Pork). Very tasty. Complimentary chips and salsa are also very good. My wife loves their Pollo Al Ajillo(and she’s not a huge fan of Mexican food, so that’s saying a lot). Service is always very friendly. Kitchen is pretty quick too. No crazy waits for food. Exterior looks a bit like a dive, but the interior of this restaurant is clean and well-maintained(but perhaps a bit cramped).
