We use Utilities Excavating to maintain our septic system. They have a service where they check in the fall and spring, cleaning out what needs to be cleaned and repairing what needs repairing. That in and of itself is a nice service, and not worth much more than a simple mention and maybe 3 stars. The owner of Utilities Excavating has a dedication to customer service that goes far above and beyond a simple service company. It took me several years to realize this, but in that time he has taken my calls after hours when we had a backup, come out for emergency issues, and spent his own time freezing to death repairing a broken electrical line. In thinking about the hours he spent on his own time to trace down an electrical issue in the cold of winter, I can only give them 5 stars. I once mentioned that the thumping noise that happens when the sensors throw the switches against the outside wall of our master bedroom(at all hours of the night) was annoying. At no charge to me they somehow adjusted things so that we can’t hear it anymore. The previous owner of our home put up with that noise for many many years to the point of suggesting to us that we should put out bed against the inside wall when we moved in. The folks that come out to manage the nasty job of inspecting and cleaning our septic are always respectful and polite. As part of the service they have also shown up to make repairs and inspect when I have scheduled the system to be pumped out. Knowledgeable, and efficient, you can really get trust these folks to keep things running. I’m a fan because of the above and beyond service and dedication to chasing down the electrical issue we had with our system. As with any old system, you fix one thing, and another blows up. Thus, we still have some issues that need to be resolved, and I wouldn’t go to anyone else to get them fixed.
