They have some regulars that try to work you for free drinks. Seems like they also have a problem with«workers» plying their trade here. Totally sketchy. That said it does seem like some hapless nice folks do come here and manage to have a good time. Rather go somewhere else and watch the Royals.

I’m sorry not to like this place. Maybe for some it’s ideal, but in one word… TIRED. From the moment you hit the door I could tell it was going to be a tacky, out of date, 1980’s throwback– and it was. BAD décor and lucrative music. My date and I only danced to one funky James Brown song– all the rest were sooo out dated and too disco-ish.(A mirror ball, really??) We sat and laughed at everything most of the night. Too bad for us, if all had been in sync the date and I would have had a blast because we were ready to dance and enjoy ourselves.

Touché’s is a fun place to go with a group of friends who want to get their dance on. Drinks are a little expensive for what it is, but I guess you are in the middle of Johnson County. Some of the music they played earlier in the evening(9:30 pm ish) wasn’t really dance music, but it was still fun. Lots of Cougars and great people watching.

stopped by the tonight,.Was the second time I had visited this club. seems like the majority on the dance floor were couples or regulars not interested in dancing with an outsider. Few men standing around. though I can’t really say people were rude, had a few bump into me and not apologize but certainly was not a friendly place. won’t be back. rally meant ½ a star or none but that is not an option.

The last stop on our birthday bash this past Saturday night was to Touché… it was FANTSTICALLY cheesy! Definitely caters to an older crowd(50+), and we were in the 35 – 40 age range, but we had a great time, and the music was always right for dancing. We found the back lounge of Touché and spent most of our time back there, especially since that lounge had it’s own dance floor. The décor has an 80’s feel to it, drinks were at a reasonable price. The music was loud, but not so loud that you couldn’t hold conversation. Great people-watching if you’re into that!!!

Great atmosphere, older crowd, good music and drinks. I recommend reserving a table or arriving before 9pm to get a table. It will be a fun night!

I’m gonna say it… I LOVEDTOUCHE! yes, it is a bit cheesy and yes, there are 60, 70 and 80 year olds there but we had so much fun. There are also 30 and 40 year olds and to be honest, my friends and I fall in the 40 – 50 range so it’s not like we are spring chickens. Danny reserved our group of 10 ladies the back section of couches. Our waitress Julie was awesome. Drinks are reasonable. We danced a lot. None of us are looking for men, we are married, just like to dance and this was a great place to do it. We will be back, I’m sure!

Holy cow! Had I known this place existed I would have been here YEARS ago! My husband and I recently have been looking for fun things to do closer to home and happened upon this blast from the past on a late Saturday afternoon. The bartender, Sammy, was incredibly friendly and let us know that even though late afternoon was a perfect time to stop by for a drink we were pretty early and things really heated up later. We waited for a Saturday night that some friends were in town and wanted to go for some fun. We arrived at Touché close to 10 and it was packed. Tons of dancing and SOMUCHFUN. Honestly, I haven’t danced this much since under age days when my sister’s boyfriend was in a cover band in Omaha. :) I know what people say about older people being there and yes, there are lots of older people but it truly only added to the fun. One of the guys we were with got into at least 2 ‘dance offs’ with another guy that were so funny I couldn’t stand up and I have NEVER seen my husband dance like this.

Best club in the Midwest. Service, value, quality of atmosphere and staff are truly exceptional. Those who complain about being booted or the cost of drinks are simply not ready for prime time. It is by far the most sought after destination in KC for diverse and wholesome fun.

«You can’t just come here and dance.» Says the manager to us as we dance… I already had issues with Touché, but nothing that was keeping me from returning on nights when my husband and I felt like dancing. Yes, I’ve been groped(by a woman) as has my husband, the bathrooms are dirty, the crowd gets rowdy often and will knock into you, the drinks are unoriginal and overpriced, and the DJ spins the exact same tired set every single time. Despite all of this, it’s close to our house and doesn’t charge a cover(something that seemed like a perk until this last visit). We’ve been 6 times previously before our latest trip. We would go, dance, I would order Hendrick’s martinis or Hendrick’s and Tonics and we would dance more. My husband cannot drink due to stomach issues(even soda), but he’s purchased water there more than once(no free water here folks). This last time on Saturday night, we tried to start off by dancing for a while to build to getting drinks(drinks that I’ve always gotten). Apparently the manager singled us out to spy on for the evening. About an hour into our visit(of just dancing and of standing and enjoying watching the Electric Slide — something we watched because we don’t know the steps to), the manager stopped us on the dance floor. He put his hands on us and said, «You can’t just come here and dance. We don’t have a cover so you need to buy drinks or move on.» Wow! How rude and ridiculous! If you’re that concerned about money than charge a cover! What a jerk! There was no line to get into the building(never has been) and no line to get on the dance floor so this was completely uncalled for and insanely rude. Also, when you’re going to be rude to me, don’t put your sweaty hand on my bare shoulder and touch me. Needless to say, we simply left and they will no longer get our business or our money(of which they had plenty from all of my past top shelf liquor orders). Touché has overpriced drinks that you cannot take onto the dance floor. Basically it’s a «dance club» where you’re discouraged from dancing and encouraged to waste money on their watered down and overpriced bar. They obviously also don’t care for frequent customers who are polite and tip well. What a poorly run dump.

The crowd at this lounge/nightclub has gotten younger. Very reasonable drinks, decent dance floor, private room to rent. Music more varied than most clubs… which is good. Fair number of tables and seats. A consistant hot spot on Friday and Saturday nights.

Touché has a great atmosphere, drinks, & music. We called ahead, the guy on the phone was friendly answered all our questions, there’s no cover. We went on a Saturday night and it was a good sized crowd. Seemed to be 30& up with a variety of people. Which made it more fun to mix and mingle. Drinks prices are good. One round for two people about $ 10. Music consisted of old and new hits. Btw. No drinks on the dance floor. We had a great time. Would definitely visit Touché again.

This is a fun place in the Johnson county area geared toward the 40+ crowd. It’s classy, great service and well priced. Staff is very friendly and remembers things about their customers, for example a favorite drink or even your name. I think this is a great concept for this area and from the Friday night crowds I think most will agree.

Where to begin with Touché… I would have never gone here without the encouragement of my wife and several of her co-workers. I’ve read the Unilocal reviews and expected the worst. Instead, I found Touché to be a high energy dance club and bar that though definitely suited for the older crowd, is a fun place to be a wallflower and watch the fun from afar. We arrived shortly after 9pm on a Saturday night. The parking lot was packed — I figured because of the Buffalo Wilds Wings in the same strip mall. Wrong! Touché was bumping from wall to wall with an older crowd(with a smattering of 30 somethings but no 20 somethings). Kindly greeted at the door by a doorman and manager. Extending his hand to me with a smile, he stated«they must call you Lucky.» At the moment I was the lone guy with five ladies. Thankfully another guy came later with his wife. Bartender was quick and friendly, beers were cold and well priced. Watch out for the coffee pots sitting on the bar — they are hot and full! We weren’t able to get a table but also didn’t really want one. We were content to stand under the watchful eyes of Frank Sinatra along the wall, drink our beers, and watch the older crowd. Pros — Everyone here is having a good time. If you are younger than 40, don’t come here to make fun of people. Come here to dance and admire how mobile and excited everyone else to be dancing. I was in awe of an older couple sitting in front of us(clearly in their 70s) who were up on the dance floor nearly every song. They were so happy and I was happy for them. A younger guy(50) stopped me and commented on their energy too. Apparently they just went to Vegas and the woman was dancing on tables. Good for them! Safe, clean, and high energy environment. The music was really good — not just 70s and 80s stuff. The DJ played some newer stuff including Kid Rock & Nelly, J-Lo, etc… Even with newer music, the older folks were still shaking it on the dance floor. Cons — We definitely got some looks from the crowd but no one was unfriendly. My wife had a couple gentlemen callers try to talk to her — no big deal but watch out for the Silver Foxes. Don’t get in the way of people trying to get to the dance floor. These folks are on a mission and they will nudge you to get there. Again, not unfriendly, but not your classic bar style tap on the shoulder or «excuse me.» I don’t really want to go back — this was a one time thing for me. However, I would highly recommend it for other people looking to have a drink, dance and a good time. Again, don’t come here to make fun of people — go to enjoy yourself.

We almost didn’t try this place out due to some of the reviews written here, but decided to give it a go anyway. I called ahead a few days in advance to find out about reservations, dress code, cover charge, etc. The guy on the phone was extremely polite and answered all my questions. We could not get a reservation due to all the available reservations being booked up, however he did tell me that they did not reserve all tables and if we were there earlier we could probably get a place to sit. We arrived on a Saturday night just before 9:00 and were greeted warmly. There is no cover charge as mentioned in other reviews. I was told that the club used to be «private» but now serves food in the middle of the week so they are open to the public without a cover charge. Nice! He quickly found us a place to sit(there were quite a few open tables). There are two main areas… a main room when you walk in a smaller room in back that was being used for a private party when we were there. Overall the place is classy, up-scale, and a little darker. The place started filling up pretty rapidly and the crowd is definitely between 40 — 70. It was evenly mixed between men and women and a diverse group of cultural makeup. They played a wide variety of music… 80’s disco, 60/70’s classic rock, modern hip-hop/pop and even a little country. They do play slow songs. No rap. The dance floor was packed all night. Beers were $ 4.75 and my wife’s mixed drink was $ 6.00. Bottom line — This place is definitely oriented towards an older crowd… something the Kansas City area needs. There were no attitudes, service was very good, and everyone was courteous. The music was kept at a level you could still talk without screaming. Like any other bar there were men trolling for women and women trolling for men. There are quite a few older guys strutting their younger arm candy. It is a very good place to people watch, dance, and/or go with a group. I would recommend it to people who have been to Funky Town as an upscale substitute that doesn’t have a cover charge and plays slow music now and then. All in all a good night out.

Visiting in town and decided to check this place out with some family. Warning: when people say older crowd. they mean older crowd. I was thinking 30 – 45 range…45 will be the younger bucks in this joint. They keep the place dark and there is the all important spinning disco ball. The dance music consisted of 70 – 80’s, including BeeGees to the Top Gun soundtrack, and even slow dance songs from Dirty Dancing… I felt like I was at my parents Prom. Dont get me wrong this place was crowded and with a big group could be fun… I give it an extra star for GREAT people watching…50 year olds dirty dancing, throwing out pick up lines, and trolling for late night love was highly entertaining. They even gave a 5 minute warning to the patrons regarding when the lights would come on… and let me tell you people scattered for the dark of night, like vampires avoiding sunlight.

I got boobed! And that, my friends, was the highlight of my night here. We were a mix of 20 and 30 somethings in town for training, but the crowd here is def much older. Now, older crowds I can handle, since I’m from Chicago — land of the Viagra Triangle and the manther — but this one wasn’t too friendly. Tried to mingle and chat up a few people, but that was an epic fail. So, we just grabbed a table, sat down, and enjoyed the drinks and scenery until… I got boobed! So, according to my friend, you are«boobed» when a chick walks up behind you and rubs you know what into the back of your head. Since I have no idea why any chick would decide this is the thing to do — I’ve even contemplated trying it myself since the term has already been coined so it’s obv pretty popular — I’m gonna say my friend was pretty young and maybe she thought it was time for a feeding? Anyways, after watching a dude w/a walker try and get down, we decided we’d had enough and left, with my boobed friend scarred for life ;)
