Food and service have been ok — restaurant is just very gimmicky(duh) and way overpriced for the dressed up bar food you get. Many more gastro pubs and even bars are serving similar food — no need to pay the extra for loud 80’s Rock and décor when you can get that for free other places.

Great food service dog friendly patio and lots of Rock and roll. My girls luv this place and favorite food is Addie’s feast. Most popular food u dogs would luv. Also have a beer and u dog can have one to. If u want a private party they do that. Haven’t been here for while some new staff and some old but all is great.

Great beer selection !! Loved the two porters — had a nice Turkey burger. A little loud — but hey it’s ROCK and Brews– TVs were nice — easy to see the hot Royals play! Why didn’t come here in first place? The $ 5 off $ 10 offer at checkin — all goooooood!

Not really impressed. Lots of bw photos of older rock stars(yes we are older, but still), somewhat loud, and very average food. Didn’t sit real well — the big pretzel was fine, but definite carbcity. And the meal? Well I barely remember what either of us had. Not a good sign.

For bar type food it’s not bad. The atmosphere is all about rock and roll, they play videos on the big screens and have posters/prints all around. The atmosphere is family-friendly. Have been here with the kiddo a couple times for lunch and it’s a fun environment. Fun, different environment with good food.

Wow! Talk about unexpected! I came here yesterday with my co-workers for a working/team-building lunch. I’ve heard nothing but great things about Rock & Brews, but at the same time was slightly concerned about the description one gave me about this place — bar food. Yes, it is bar food, but amazingly elevated bar food that was a wonderful surprise! You don’t usually expect to see seared Ahi Tuna on the menu when you think bar food. Normally, I wouldn’t have ordered anything with seafood… but when trying to eat healthy you make do. Plus, enough people have told me how amazing the food is so why not take the risk every once in a while? I ended up ordering the Ahi Tuna Sandwich with a side salad rather than french fries. Talk about fresh and scrumptious! The bloody sandwich was hard to get my mouth around, and the wasabi aioli provided the perfect amount of heat. Service was great! Especially since we had a large party with individual checks that finished up during what looked like the lunch rush! Our waiter was attentive and took great care of us. Although it was baffling to have one of my coworkers end up with 3 glasses of soda in front of him. :P Definitely looking for my next trip back.

I won a gift card from here so I figured I’d give it a try with my son. We got seated(at a bench) and watched about twenty different waitresses walk past us within about 5 minutes. I told my son, I’m going to start my timer and let’s see how long it takes to get. mmm maybe greeted… he said«that’s a great idea dad». Well needless to say, we got tired of waiting after the fifteen minute mark so I asked a gentleman walking around if I could speak to a manager. Kyle(the only person in the whole restaurant who seemed like he cared) was actually very polite and professional and offered us a free appetizer(chicken quesadillas-pretty good). Nine years later, i received my meal, the ahi avocado sandwich, which was incredibly dry and boring… The real talking point here is the terrible service though. We saw our waitress probably three times and she shorted me on my change. Granted, it was only ten cents but it’s also why she only got tipped ten percent. In the future, I will sell any gift cards I receive from here. For a regular burger and fry joint, there are plenty of better options.

Food was normal quality bar food. Slow service, not a fan of their tables/arrangement. No need to go back.

Very loud in here! Odd seating with picnic tables. For two of us we were sat at the end of one long table that had people already at the other end. No small nooks and crannies here for a more private date. I can think of a few people I know who would absolutely love the décor, and music videos. My favorite parts were the location and the open garage-door style walls that let all the fresh air in from the patio. On a nice spring evening, it was awesome. Ordered a sub sandwich and the brownie dessert. Both were good. On par with an Applebees or Chili’s type experience. The table next to us had pizza which looked pretty decent. Most folks were leaving with leftovers. This place is perfect for groups and a few rounds of brews if you don’t mind shouting over the noise.

Came here on a Saturday night with friends for dinner during the royals game. We were seated almost immediately which was surprising with the amount of people present that night.(I think luckily a table just opened) the service was decent, no complaints there. Not spectacular but it’s what I expected at a bar sort of restaurant. The food was pretty decent as well, and they had a good selection of different items. I had the fish tacos which I would suggest and my girlfriend got the steak sandwich which was also very good. The only complaint I would say was our pitcher of beer was really not cold enough for a domestic. It was okay, but not sure why it wasn’t colder. Overall not a bad time if you don’t mind a louder bar style environment to grab some quick food with friends.

Johnson county has so many restaurants, and they all seem to run together, but rock and brew puts you in a large space with high ceilings and tons of tvs. They play a wide variety of music videos, and it’s nice the volume was not too loud. Service was prompt and they have a typical, varied bar menu. My wife had a lunch portion size of the Tuscan kale salad, which for a lunch portion was very large and she really enjoyed it. My son went with the standard burger and fry combo, do 16yo’s ever choose something new… no. He said it was very good, and after drinking 4 monster mr pibbs, he hit his calorie max… mission accomplished, trying to keep a growing 16 yo full. The place is nice, but can get pretty loud, so if you’re looking for a conversation place, you’ll love the food here, but mah never know what your party is talking about…

Family, friends, and soccer team mates are in KC for a tournament. We had heard a lot of great things about Rock and Brews… so we thought we would give it a try. Everyone was nervous about the PrairieFire parking, but we just went valet. Simple, easy, and quick. Nicest guys! The restaurant was perfect for what we were looking for(good food and cold drinks). A lot of the parents ordered the chicken and raved about it. I tried a burger… which was delicious. The sweet potato fries were a great side! The kids tried wings, chicken tenders, burgers, and fries. They were all smiling at the end of the night. Servers were friendly and accommodating with our large group. The tab was a little steep for the fare, but after a top shelf margarita I didn’t care a bit.

What a pleasant surprise! I liked this place much more than I expected to. I came for lunch with a friend and we were seated very quickly. The atmosphere is different than anything else I’ve seen in KC. It’s very open with lots of really great rock music from the 70’s and 80’s playing along with music videos. The décor is fun and upbeat. I ordered the fish tacos and my friend ordered the steak tacos. They arrived at our table quickly and were good-not great– but definitely better than typical bar food. I’m not sure if I would rush back for another meal, but this would be a fun place to stop in for a few drinks and maybe a dessert. The service was friendly and accommodating. A great little spot to visit if you are in the area!

The ones in California are much better. I’m not a fan of this one. The prices are similar to California prices and I don’t think they can command that here in KC. I’m going to try it again in the spring/summer to see if that has an impact on my enjoyment. It is very possible that the winter is just a bad time to visit this place.

WOW, I wish we had a place like this in St Louis! This place really ‘ROCKS!’ I was so impressed by the different foods they offer, and especially delighted by the fish tacos. I haven’t had a good fish taco since leaving California, until coming here. The fish was done perfectly, crunchy, flaky, and the toppings just sent it off the chart. Be sure to squeeze a lemon or lime on these tacos for best results! I rarely stop to talk to the manager on the way out, but I stopped and told her what an awesome experience we had, and such great food. Come to STL!

I have been here several times — when I come with large groups it is fine with the large picnic tables for seating — when my husband and I came with another couple I didn’t like sitting with other people, it is too close for conversation. My recent visit was arranged by a friend — a large group of ladies were going to a movie and since this is right across from the movie, it was the default. The food is typical bar food. We ordered drinks and appetizers to share — quesadillas(friends said they were good), wedge salad(friend said was good), Asian shrimp — fried with lots of crispy coating overpowered the shrimp, good flavor, buffalo shrimp — fried with lots of crispy coating also overpowered the shrimp — too spicy for my friend but I thought was perfect, margharita pizza(friends said it was good), and bruschetta — very good garlic bread with cheese and tomatoes to add Our server was nice but after our initial order, we received our drinks and food quickly, we had to get up and go get a manager to order more drinks. He gave a few a free drink but not all of us. We were there on a Tuesday night — no wait and not every table was taken, the restaurant is very loud we noticed and it was really difficult to hear each other. It was also really warm for some reason.

Two stars for décor! I’d give five stars for the thoughts of vets there. But food was not great. We went specifically because my son requested It for his 15th birthday lunch! I let them know we were there to celebrate his birthday. But they did nothing special. Offered bread pudding they never brought to him. Kind of a buzz kill after all the hype. I was very disappointed. We won’t be back because price + food+ service= below average. A smile and some enthusiasm would have went a long way to celebrate our sons birthday.

I came here fairly late to get some dinner before going back to my hotel. I had driven past before and always wanted to try it. To be honest, I was thoroughly impressed with the place. It’s awesome inside and out, my service was great, beer is great, and my food was pretty decent! It was still pretty packed when I came in and I took the only open spot at the bar. My awesome bartender Nicole informed me it just happened to be pint night with Breckenridge Brewing and I couldn’t say«no» to that! Super good selection of beers! 50 – 60 taps it looked like to me. I’m sure they have the number on their website… the place is just wonderful on the sinde. Rock memorabilia everywhere, autographed stuff everywhere, TVs with concerts on, even the ceiling was covered in rock! Unfortunately I wanted to eat light the night I was here so I just had the Freebird chicken sandwich and fries. My order took a while to get out but Nicole checked several times and when it was brought out I could tell it was fresh. The chicken was so flavorful, I was surprised. Marinated extremely well and juicy. Fries were nothing special, just restaurant fries. I also found out I would be getting a free shirt and keychain from the pint night brewer which never happens at the bars here, so that made my night too. Overall an awesome place in my opinion and I would love to come back.
