My chicken Philly was generously sized, with plenty of chicken breast, and my choice of onions, peppers, mushrooms, and jalapenos on fresh bread. A substantial amount of spice mix was added before cooking, which made the meat taste very salty. The service was friendly, and the dining area was clean and comfortable. Overall, A-OK.

Tried the Chicken Philly Sandwich and it was OK. Maybe because I like Jersey Mike’s more.

Food was ok, staff was clearly high. Prepare to repeat your order 2 or 3 times only for them to still screw it up

Best Philly Cheese Steak around here! I love that it’s made in front of you and so everything is piping hot and delicious! We always eat at the one in Lawrence too.

Not worth paying for soggy bread and I hope I don’t get sick, clean your grill it was disgusting it looked like you haven’t cleaned it all day, if you want this kind of food save you money and go to McDonald’s. If you are looking for good Pepper Jacks drive to Lawrence, this was dog food!

I should have known not to eat there when I saw how dirty the floors were. Everyone in my family got sick after eating here. Never going back!

The fries and mushroom gravy deserves all of the stars. Seriously, dip your fries in the gravy. The sandwiches are great and the servings are enormous. Great selections for kiddos too. The mini corn dogs are always a hit. Nothing fancy, just large mounts of good food.

Good food, good service. This is a good option if you are near Highland Plaza. They have a very good menu with a lot of variety.

BEST cheese steak sandwich I can find in the area. Fries are really good too. They don’t have Coke products, so the drink selection is the meh Pepsi line. One of the few places I’ll go to even though they don’t have Coke products, the steak sandwich is that good.

Yumm! We love their sandwiches but I always get their rice bowl. They cook it right in front of you and they’re exceptionally friendly and helpful.

PepperJax is a nice fast food addition to the neighborhood. It’s kind of like Chipotle with cheese steaks. You walk in, get in line, go through and tell them how you want your cheese steak and then pay at the end. Easy enough. The portions are large. I turned my cheese steak into two meals so don’t feel bad if you have to ask for a box to go Of note, there is a nice parking lot, but it can fill up during busy times. Plus this intersection can be a little tricky. I’m not trying to disuade you, but I did want to bring it to your attention.

Came here with friends. The meat looked unappetizing so I just had a drink a cookie. The two stars are because the cookie was delicious. Plus they had FOX news on every TV. Major turnoff.

Loud, obnoxious, felt like I was herded through the line, ended up with them getting my order wrong because they couldn’t hear me and I couldn’t hear them, I wasn’t happy with the service, the food may have been nice if my tastebuds hadn’t been seared off with the first bite, way over-spiced, over-priced and just a complete waste of my money. I don’t get why people rave about Pepperjacks. It’s nothing that great. The bread was nice and fresh though, and the restaurant was clean and definitely a lot bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside. That’s about all I can say.

Who ever said this place has the best cheesesteaks has obviously never been to Philly. Or any other place that serves cheesesteaks. Drive the extra 20 minutes and go to Grinders.

It was adventure date day for me and my hubby the other day and we picked Pepperjax! You walk in and they have the menu on the side of the wall. You stand in front of the people that are making your philly and can watch them. It’s really neat. The meat looked so lean and fresh. The fries are a good shareable size. The philly was amazing! The bread was better than any bread I’ve tried. Usually it just tastes like a regular sub bun but this was warmed and crispy bread that held the meat and toppings like a boat. The cheese gave it the perfect flavor. The employees were very nice. Very glad we found this place.

Ambience while entering is fairly basic, similar to every other prepare your meal behind glass type of restaurant. The smell of spice and cooking meat and veggies fills your nose, making your mouth water. The staff will usually instantly greet you, if perhaps half-assed and distracted by cooking someone else’s meal. It’s pretty simple of a menu really… Pick your meat, pick your starch(sandwich or rice), add some veggies and they cook it, toast your bun and give you a nice, cheese-melted sandwich. Usually they’ll ask you immediately if you want fries. If not, be sure to let them know you want fries early upon ordering. One side of fries is usually enough for me and two other guys, if that indicates how much you get. The fries are pretty good, but I’m a fry snob cause I once worked at Red Robin, so really that means these fries are actually are damn near excellent. Nicely seasoned, and take a little while to cook, but then they come out nice and hot so it’s totally worth it. However, there are a few other things that you may not know about this or any pepperjax, and can really help your experience: If you like it super spicy, ask for the«fireball» or jalapeño juice while they’re doing their thing with the spatulas. I used to love it but my spice tolerance has gone down considerably. Now I prefer ordering my Philly with«lite seasoning» cause I’m such a wuss. If you find that you want more food, one of my friends says to get the burrito bowl, it’s 10c more, but you get way more food and you can throw on more options. The service ranges from competent to excellent, depending on the manager on duty, but the food is consistent, and thus is always great for anyone who wants to satisfy their spice crave. I got the queso on my Philly once, it’s pretty darn good, but you can also get ranch, and my favorite, the spicy ranch, and many other dressings after you pay. A little expensive for how quick you get your food, but certainly is worthwhile for that pepperjax spicy taste. Eat there if you can. It’s just not the same in a takeout box.

We usually love this place, but the Manger &1 girl brynn were unconcerned about our food & dinning experience. Jake & Austin, the 2 men working the grill did their best to fix the issues. Food was good, but customer service needs fixing

Good Philly-cheesesteak lunch spot not too far from my office. They have wraps & bowls & stuff, but the sandwich is so good that I may never experience those other things. It’s large, on a substantially fresh roll(I don’t think it’s baked in house, but they must have it delivered daily.) They’ll grill the meat & the peppers/onions/mushrooms/whatever right in front of you & serve it up steaming. Lots of options on the condiment bar let you add all kinds of crazy things to your meal. Service is fast & friendly, and they clean the grill frequently, which always makes me feel better about going to one of these type of places.

We came here on Sunday for lunch after church because we got a 50% off coupon in the mail. We had eaten here once before several years ago when it was at 135th and Metcalf. I didn’t remember that they had all the options the first time. It is very similar to a Chipotle setup. You can either get a sandwich, salad, rice bowl or wrap. You can choose steak, chicken, shrimp and have this sauteed with onions, mushrooms and/or peppers right before your eyes. Vegetarian would just exclude the protein. For«Fireball» style they add jalapeño sauce to the sautee process. YUM! Just be careful. It can be hot. I had the salad with«fireballed» shrimp and all the sauteed veggies. It was good, but the shrimp are tiny cocktail size. I would probably get the chicken or beef next time. I had the hot salsa and something was very spicy in my salad. AWESOME!!! My husband had the beef«fireballed» and it wasn’t nearly so spicy. Not sure why. He had the rice bowl. Maybe the rice absorbed the spice. Anyhoo, we would go back, even at full price. It’s a little different spin on the Philly Cheese Steak concept. This is not a TRUE Philly cheese steak. But it was good!!!

You order and they grill it up right in front of you. You can get Jalapeño juice added to the meat while it grills. They have a gravy station. Horseradish is in packets by the gravy. They have a «bread shoot» in front of the grill. I don’t claim to understand it. Yes, it is salty. Get at least a cup of water. Vegetarian options are available. I compared the Philly with Chartroose basically the entire time. This is what I concluded about PepperJax: Pro: It’s a bigger sandwich, but doesn’t cost more. Pro: They don’t charge you for Au Jus Pro: They don’t use styrofoam for EVERYTHING. Pro: They use real silverware. Con: They don’t have a vegetable topping bar. Oh and if you have kids, they have some kids eat free something or another. It’s on a certain day… so you should call them and find out about that. PS Oooh Pepperjax love Fraggle Rock. Shout out to Scott S. and Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
