This is an awesome liquor store, and actually one of the largest in the country. Clean, bright, well-stocked, perfectly well-organized layout, and busy but accessible/friendly staff. Most importantly, they have a HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGEEE selection of high-end craft beer, coupled with knowledgeable staff. Prices are in-line with all the other large retail stores as well. Well done Lukas! You have my business! A+

I love Lukas because of the great selection of wine and beer. I’ve always been able to find someone to help me if needed.

This fairly new location is approximately the size of a football field, with over 6,000 different wines, over 2,000 different beers, a 60 door solar powered cooler, and 62 flat screen TVs. The selection is excellent, the prices are reasonable, and the service is friendly. What’s not to like?

What if everything you ever wanted came in a big brick and steel box? They have pretty much everything you could ever desire — crazy selection of liquors and more wines than you thought existed. The whiskey aisles alone are worth a trip. You won’t suffer from lack of service; Ina recent trip, they had nearly as many employees walking around as customers in the store. Class act, Luka’s.

I think this is my new favorite liquor store! It’s a great big store that is well-organized and meticulously clean with a great selection of wine and spirits at a reasonable price. The hubby has started drinking sweet red wines because he hates wine(hence the sweet part) but he wants the heart-healthy benefits. Me? I find all sweet wines unpalatable and I’m a bit snootish about it, but the employees there were incredibly helpful(and unsnooty!) to him in selecting some wines that he enjoyed. Of note, they seem to care about carrying stuff from local breweries, distilleries and wineries. To be honest, I probably won’t start driving out of my way to come here, but if I were in the area, anyway, I would certainly stop in.

I was pretty excited about this pretty new version of the former Lukas 119th location. It is impressive when you walk in the front door. With an entire back wall labeled«BEER» or something in that ballpark, I thought for sure the selection must have grown from the previous location…like, closer to that of the State Line location, oh yeah! Sadly, it is still the same decent/better than anywhere else on the Kansas side selection, and that is about it. No specific sour selection, teeny tiny brett selection, and it is just too much trouble to find the one or two bottles of what I love that they actually sell. The one great thing is that they have Bellhaven Scottish Ale both on the shelves and in the fridge. The old location had stopped selling it for a bit. If you are interested in a different type of alcohol, this new store may give you above and beyond the old location’s offering. I don’t know. I love beer. When I want a variety of bretts or sours, I will head to State Line. When I want better than MDL’s selection, I will come here.

I went in there on December 22, 2015 on my way home from Costco. My son wanted me to see the new store. We went into the store and noticed they were giving samples of selected products. I was there to buy some wine and so I went to the first person offering wine tastings. The gentleman was offering samples of a wide selection of wines from white to red. Being a diabetic, I asked him for a sample of their driest red wine. He held up a bottle and said this was their driest red wine, but it was expensive, and would I prefer something cheaper. Needless to say I didn’t try any of his product and walked away. I should have unloaded on him for profiling and insulting me, but I didn’t. Later, I called the manager of the store, I felt it was the right thing to do. First the manager tried to distance the store from the people offering the samples and then tried to convince me that I didn’t hear what I heard and that he didn’t mean what he said. The attitude of the manager reinforced my opinion that I should have probably brought in my latest credit score to demonstrate I was able to shop there. I didn’t realize that Lukas’ required a credit check or note from my mom to shop there. Apparently I’m not of sufficient social standing to taste wine there. Needless to say, I won’t be shopping there any more. There are plenty of other businesses who would be happy for me to shop there and appreciate my patronage. I guess Lukas has enough customers they can afford to triage my wallet from a distance. Most business’s don’t concern themselves with such matters, they are just happy to have people give them a chance.

Come for the liquor, not for awful customer service. Been a customer of Lukas since moving to Kansas City last year, with large amount of selection of wines and liquor with decent selection of beers. What made it stand out is customer service and helping me find what I’m looking for, even if they do not have it in stock, they would give me suggestions on alternative brands. However, I had concerns of them moving to a new location because normally a bigger store means more selection less customer service. Twice since the move, no one at the store would help me directly and kept saying I should find a rep in their specific sections. Well congrats to the business manager who decided to have no rep to be found in the beer section and 1 person handling 10 customers in the wine section. I gave up and went to Mahoneys and Smittys on both occasions because at least I had someone willing to provide me assistance, even if they do not have exact item in stock.

Good place to pick up wine, beer or liquor. Not much more to say, but both the Kansas and Missouri location are my go to places to restock.

We need a Lukas Liquors in San Diego… they have everything you could ever imagine you might need/want…I’m looking for wines and beers from California and this place has got it! The staff were so friendly, helpful and knowledgable. Just about everything… and others that I didn’t even know about. The prices are great. The selection is vast. I’m definitely shopping at this place again, no matter what kind of alcohol I am searching for… this place has probably got it!

We were not blown away by the imported wine selection. Many regions of France and Italy are barely represented, even if the write-ups on different wines are quite helpful. This store is great for beer and hard liquor though!

Lukas has all the wines and liquors you could ever need. We like to go on the weekend and try samples in the store. We can practically make a date out of just looking through this store then picking out something new. This is our go-to store in Overland Park. Prices are average, but since there is so much selection you can find a lot on sale.

Seriously, can you find a bigger liquor store that carries more products in the KC area? Lukas Liquors has everything and then some. Aisles and aisles of wine, cooler after cooler of beer, and a host of everything in between. Consider this place the Costco of liquor stores because it looks like a warehouse inside and the prices are decent too. My most recent trip here was to track down Strongbow, a cider that is only sold at Lukas in the KC area. Similarly, I’ve been able to track down some hard to find wines here after tastings in California. Lukas seems to be the only re-saler in town. Now if only I could find a bottle of Pappy Van Winkle here. Don’t miss an opportunity to visit to complete your party stock or to refill your own private liquor cabinet, wine rack, or beer fridge. A can’t miss!

This place is like Christmas morning for adults. We found a yummy bottle of wine to enjoy and I can’t imagine that they wouldn’t have something for everyone. I wish I lived closer!

Excellent selection of all things – but the store layout(119th St. in Overland Park) is dis-jointed. It took me about a half dozen trips to discover that there is another entire section of the store at the south end of the store that was solidly wine. The tastings are nice, but on a recent visit(prior to the holidays) wishing to taste the three wines to be featured explicitly from 1−3pm on a Friday afternoon, we got away and over to the store. Inside nothing was going on. When I found a store clerk and asked about where the tasting was, she said that there wasn’t one. I showed her the email I’d received the day before announcing it. She went off to ask a manager. After about 15 minutes I found her stocking beer cases and asked what the story was. She said her manager said the ‘rep didn’t show up.’ After my trouble to get there early and seek out the shopping info, all I received after it all was a resounding… …thud. Good selection, fair prices. Be wary of the ‘free tasting’ ploy.

This is like Toys-r-us for drunks! I was able to walk around for 20mins without getting bored at all. Who knew there were 100 varieties of tequila. I love watching customers grab 5 cases of coors light with a beer selection that would rival The Ed Sullivan Show for variety. Can’t they just expand their horizons for one night and try beating their kids drunk of quality beer? Funny enough, Lukas prices on low end beer(wine and liquor) are higher than most supermarkets. The high end stuff is reasonable which is why I go there. Anyway, back to the wine selection. I wanted to pull out a kiddie pool and just fill it up with Pinots and Cabs. Bathe in it and have Overland Park soccer moms lick me clean. BTW did I mention they have Absinthe here! Please don’t let me come back after pay day. One bottle and I’m done.

The selection was very good. They didn’t have everything I was looking for, but to be fair, I was looking for certain delicious Mexican liqueurs that were fairly off the beaten path.(one of which I actually learned wasn’t registered with the State of Kansas, so that’s obviously not their fault at all, though I have decided to personally blame Sam Brownback.) So, while they may have a limited selection of Mezcal, they do have an expansive selection of… everything else. The staff was proactively helpful, all very nice fellows. The wine selection is huge. And thanks to Unilocal,I hear there’s a nice range of beer you can use to build your own six-pack. So compared to everywhere else in the area, this has been the best(with the exception of Gomer’s in Midtown). Worth a look, and probably worth a drive.

They have everything I want and always something new to bring home and try too! Don’t miss the little clearance shelf area on the back wall next to the cold beer. Some truly great bottles end up there! Very friendly staff. Always lots to talk about and eager to point you the right direction. Great location and access to parking. Fair prices and lots of stock.

If you go on a Friday afternoon you will encounter the Housewives of Johnson County stocking up on cases(yes, plural) of wine and random bottles of liquor for their upcoming week. From the cartloads exiting as I entered, I first thought this was a discount wholesale liquor store and I got a little excited! ;) This store is huge. I imagine they have pretty much everything you would possibly want in the realm of alcohol(well except for the one item I am looking for of course.) Although they did not have what I wanted, the selection is amazing. Whether you are looking for the cheap stuff to drink straight from the brown paper bag, or the high end bottle for a special occasion, along with everything in between, you will find something to appease your taste here. The prices are good overall on all the products. Depending on what you want depends on what you will spend, but the prices looked better than my normal neighborhood store. The BYO(Build Your Own) option for beer is a huge plus for me as I like trying new beers without being stuck with 5 more beers if I don’t like something. This gives me the option to try new things at home instead of just when I go out. I wondered up and down the scotch isle looking for what I wanted for quite a while before someone appeared to ask if I needed help. This was a little disheartening as I am use to the great service at my neighborhood store greeting me and offering help when I walk in, but I will overlook it being I am sure they were super busy with all the housewives getting their weekly fixes!

As usual any time I am on vacation out of my home state one of the things I look for is a grocery store or liquor store to find craft beers not available in my state. I had stopped at a grocery store and after seeing their one small cooler of macro swill I asked an employee where the good stuff was and he directed me here. This is a no frills place. Grab a cart, grab your vice, pay for it and box it up. Pretty simple. They had a pretty good selection of craft beers and I was able to score quite a few beers I had heard about but aren’t available in Iowa. As for the rest of the place outside of the beer area, well, I can’t comment. But if you are looking for craft beers in the area, this would be at the top of my list.
